Storyline

It's the middle of winter when the Big 3 are ten years old. The symptoms first appear on Kevin, he and Kate who have come down with a case of chicken pox. The doctor recommends that Randall too try to get infected to get the pain over with in the household in one fell swoop, Randall who takes the words to heart as he doesn't want an illness like chicken pox to interfere with him participating in an upcoming science fair. Jack and Rebecca, the latter who had to call her mother to confirm, have both had it when they were children, meaning that they do not have to worry about coming down with it now. Regardless, they know that they will be overwhelmed looking after two sick and complaining children and one who is trying to get sick. The situation gets even worse when Rebecca's telephone call has unintended consequences, which is only exacerbated by something that happens to Jack. Goofs

Kevin's injured knee switches from right to left, then right again. When he shows it to Brian Grazer, it's his right knee. When he's being prepped for arthroscopic surgery, the injured knee is shown as the left one and his right knee appears normal. When he's on crutches, his right knee is bandaged. See more »

I was a big fan of the show to begin, but this episode did it for me, and I will not watch the series any more. I am just too weary now of Kevin's egocentric narcissism, Randall's neuroses, and Kate's issues to care any more. I gave up on this episode about half way through and deleted the series from my DVR.
