Disney Planning a Remake of 1992 Hit Musical Comedy 'Sister Act'

Another day, another remake. This time I simply cannot get excited for this, just no way. THR is reporting that Disney is preparing a new version of Sister Act, but of course. Why not mine their entire collection of past live-action films that made a boatload of money and... remake them! All of them! The only good news is that they're hiring writers Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith and Karen McCullah, of the films 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde, She's the Man, The House Bunny, The Ugly Truth, Crazy Kind of Love, plus Expendabelles coming up. Disney is putting Cinderella producer Allison Shearmur on-board to develop it. Other than that, they're not sure if Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in the original, will even be back or not. Touchstone Pictures' 1992 film Sister Act starring Whoopi Goldberg was actually a completely original idea pitched by screenwriter Paul Rudnick. His original script

Style 180! Eva Longoria's First Communion Fashion

Style 180! Eva Longoria's First Communion Fashion
All typical kidding aside, we did not know this was Eva Longoria at first glance. Where's the signature sexy cocktail dress? The bold, jewel tone colors? The luscious, wavy hair? This looks like a picture of a school-age brunette whose mom cut her bangs! And that white dress is way more fit for a church ceremony than a red carpet event. Is the Crazy Kind of Love star finally shedding her Gabrielle Solis style? Could this be a chicken-or-egg couture moment? Which came first: the blunt bangs or the boring fashion? Or is the formerly fiery latina just dressing to impress the Dalai Lama? That would explain the covered up Philosophy design. But if his modern tweets are any indication, His Holiness has...

Sam Trammell on True Blood Season Six: Shifters, Beware!

  • TVfanatic
Watch out, Shape Shifters!

While vampire and werewolves take center stage most of the time on True Blood, Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) says there's trouble ahead for his kind on Season 6.

And it's mostly due to the presence of the ruthless Louisiana Governor (played by guest Arliss Howard), who has strong methods of taking care of all non-humans... and the fight is going to be a good one.

Will Sam find love in the midst of fighting? Who will he butt heads with these season? I asked the actor all these questions and more in our exclusive Q&A...

TV Fanatic: You’re six seasons in as Sam Merlotte. Are you still finding out new things about him after all this time?

Sam Trammell: Here’s the thing, in True Blood time, only about two years has passed. [Laughs] There’s still a lot to learn with Sam and there

Crazy Kind Of Love Review

The unholy bastard child of a low budget after school drama and the limpest, most derivative romantic comedy imaginable, Crazy Kind of Love attempts to exist as both a frothy coming of age story and a more sombre drama, and it completely fails at both. So little feels genuine that it begs the question if those involved are in actuality idiot savants and have crafted one of the most subtle parodies of all time.

The most genuine compliment I can pay to this wreck is that everything at play is mostly harmless, but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not still insulting to the viewer. If the on-the-nose musical cues and the atrociously contrived meet-cute between our young leads aren’t enough to drive you stir crazy early on, Crazy Kind of Love will soon use up its third, fourth and umpteenth strike as it continues to show absolutely
