Channing Tatum Begins Shooting Gambit This February

It's been a long time coming, but the Gambit movie is finally, actually going to begin filming in just a few short months. Channing Tatum pretty much willed this movie into existence several years ago, via his desire to play the fan-favorite X-Men character. But after Fox got on board, the project has had a troubled road to production. However, the pieces of the puzzle have recently started falling into place and we now know that Gambit will begin filming early next year.

According to a new report, Fox will roll cameras on Gambit starting in February 2018. That should give them enough time to get the movie done in time for its February 14, 2019, release date. So your Valentine's Day plans for 2019 are already taken care of. The production is expected to last about five months, as the report says the studio is hoping to wrap in July. Gambit is expected

Will X-Men: Dark Phoenix Kill Off One Of These Major Characters?

The latest mainline film in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, has now wrapped. Despite principal production having finished though, we still know surprisingly little about the movie. That being said, the title tells us quite a bit to start with, as Dark Phoenix will tackle the iconic comic book storyline of Jean Grey’s descent into darkness, and will hopefully prove to be a much more successful attempt than X-Men: The Last Stand.

Now, thanks to a new report from That Hashtag Show, we might just know the exact incident that causes Sophie Turner’s telepathic mutant to turn to the dark side. Ths’ sources allege that Dark Phoenix will feature a sequence where Jean attempts to unleash her powers but fails to control them – killing a long-running character in the process. Though the report didn’t note who exactly will meet their maker, the character in question is

In mid 2014, the studio first revealed plans to tell the story of Remy LeBeau, a superhero better known as Gambit. In the time since the announcement, the project has faced numerous production snags and changed hands multiple times. But now, as we near the end of 2017, it seems the project is finally moving along. Curious to know about the cast, release date, and other pertinent details? Let's go over what we've heard so far. 1. Lizzy Caplan joining Channing Tatum in Gambit movie

After years of fumbling the deck, with directors such as Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman passing their hand, and following the news that Gore Verbinksi was in talks to direct, it appears that the Channing Tatum X-Men movie Gambit is gaining some real traction, this time in the form of some positive casting news.

Variety has exclusively revealed that Now You See Me 2, True Blood, Cloverfield, and Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan has signed on to play the female lead.

Like everything else about the movie, details on Caplan’s role remain a secret, but Gambit has been described as “the Ocean’s 11 of the comic book genre” and will reference X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men Apocalypse. Recently Tatum, for whom this has been a passion project for years, revealed they decided to readjust the film’s scope in the wake of Deadpool and Logan‘s success.

Fox Enlists Wonder Woman Scribe For Multiple Man Movie, James Franco To Star

In the latest round of throwing whatever you can at a wall and seeing what’ll stick, Fox is continuing to expand its ever-broadening X-Men film franchise with an installment that’ll no doubt come as a shock to many. Believe it or not, the latest mutant they intend shining the spotlight on is none other than Multiple Man.

Having been previously played by “McSteamy” himself, Eric Dane, back in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, the self-replicating mutant known to comic book readers as Jamie Madrox will now instead be played by James Franco, who had previously familiarized himself with the superhero film genre via Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Now, this may cause confusion for some, but do remember that recasting various characters has been on the table ever since the timeline was rewritten thanks to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Also worth noting is that the

Meet Cable & Co In First Full Trailer For ‘Deadpool 2’

  • The Playlist
Few saw “Deadpool” coming, but the movie proved to be something of a shot in the arm of the superhero movie when it hit a little under two years ago. A long time passion project for star Ryan Reynolds, the post-modern, R-rated, fourth-wall-shattering masked hero connected with fans and general audiences in a big way, melding vaguely juvenile gore and swears with an unexpected sweetness to the tune of $800 million worldwide or so, outgrossing “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” and “Logan” to make it Fox’s biggest-ever X-Men-related movie, despite the restrictive rating and a far cheaper budget than most.

The Gifted Episode 7 Review: eXtreme measures

Jim Dandy Nov 21, 2017

There are 4 stories in this week's episode of The Gifted. One of them is good. Spoilers ahead in our review...

This review contains spoilers.

1.7 eXtreme measures

This was probably inevitable, but inevitability didn't make The Gifted's first wheel-spinning episode any less tedious to sit through.

The show split the main characters into four groups, and only managed to do something interesting with one of them. This week's A-story would have been part of an interesting B-story in a good episode; two others are, except for an Easter Egg or two, a complete waste of time.

Let's start with the good: Jamie Chung is pretty good at acting. Thunderbird decides to try and bring Blink back to the underground, so he helps her find the place she kept

Rotten Tomatoes Reveals The 50 Best Superhero Films Of All-Time

Superheroes: fictional characters doing impossible things in implausible costumes. Why is society so fascinated by them, though?

Well, for one, they inspire us, reassure us, and certainly entertain us. They also provide a platform for storytelling that’s epic in scale – often allowing for sweeping sci-fi or historical drama, alongside intimate tales of relationships and familial bonds. As such, it’s hardly surprising that the world of film adopts – and occasionally spawns – so many of these characters as its own.

The potential for these crusaders to draw in audiences has been explored and expanded further than anyone could have imagined back when Superman And The Mole-Men became the first superhero movie to hit cinemas in 1951. Since then, filmmakers have continually mined the realms of comic books, graphic novels, animation, TV, and even conceived their own original creations, all in search of that most elusive of achievements: A good superhero flick.

Hugh Jackman to Finally Wear Classic Wolverine Costume for Halloween?
Many thought Hugh Jackman would finally wear Wolverine's classic yellow and blue costume from the Marvel comics in Logan. This was before the first footage was ever revealed. In the movie, Wolverine never dons any costume at all featuring a much more realistic take on the character. As this was Jackman's final turn as the iconic mutant superhero, fans hopes were dashed, and all seemed lost. But perhaps we'll finally see Jackman in that iconic yellow and blue spandex after all.

In celebration of Halloween, Hugh Jackman shared a photo on social media that shows the actor shopping for costumes. He holds up an adult sized, albeit sort of chintzy looking, official Marvel costume depicting Wolverine in his classic colors. Trying to remain conspicuous in shades, he says this to fans.

"Just maybe I will finally wear blue and yellow spandex for my #halloweencostume

There's no size visible on the bag,

Ben Mendelsohn up for Captain Marvel’s villain

As production gears up for Captain Marvel, the film may have found its villain. Variety is reporting that directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are in talks to reunite with Ben Mendelsohn, who previously worked with the pair on Mississippi Grind and is up for a role as the film’s central villain.

Variety doesn’t say who exactly he’d be playing, but the role would be the leader of the Skrulls, a shapeshifting alien race. Earlier this summer some concept art was shown off during Marvel’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con showcasing Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel fighting against a group of Skrulls. Mendelsohn is also known for his villainous roles in The Dark Knight Rises and more recently as Director Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Why Hugh Jackman Is Excited About Recasting Wolverine
Fans knew long before 20th Century Fox's Logan hit theaters this spring that it would be Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine performance, closing out his 17-year run as Wolverine. While it isn't clear when exactly it will happen, it seems inevitable that, at some point, 20th Century Fox will reboot the franchise with a younger actor as Logan, and while most fans may not be ready for that yet, Hugh Jackman has already come to terms with another actor portraying his iconic character. As it turns out, it was some advice given to him during production of the very first X-Men movie that has prepared him to say goodbye to this character.

What some fans may not know is that, we were almost quite close to having a much different Wolverine. British actor Dougray Scott was originally cast as Logan/Wolverine in the original 2000 film X-Men, but he was forced

7 Reasons Why The Fantastic Four Reboot Deserves Another Chance

Never before has a film with so much potential bombed so hard. This reboot of the 2005 Tim Story movie of the same name was meant to attract a new generation of viewers by cashing in on the superhero craze brought about by The Avengers, whilst still telling an original tale.

The idea was this: the original Fantastic Four had gotten the aesthetics right, but completely flopped with regards to everything else like tone and character motivations, especially as they were depicted in Jack Kirby’s original run. As director Josh Trank, coming off of Chronicle, pointed out, the earlier issues of the Fantastic Four had elements of body horror to them, from the design of the Thing to Doctor Doom’s imposing face plate.

At the same time, it was clear that the original version of four people going into space and getting blasted by cosmic rays was an outdated
