Dave Franco Opens Up About How Alison Brie Was ‘Really the Only Option for Marriage’
Dave Franco had an unusual deal breaker when it came to choosing a wife.

The Lego Ninjago actor, 32, revealed that his love for his two cats, Harry and Arturo, didn’t always leave room for a partner on Thursday night’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

“I don’t know how I became the quirky cat guy,” he told Jimmy Fallon. “At one point in my life I was the single guy with two 16-pound cats.”

When it came to how his devotion to his cats complicated his love life, Franco admitted it wasn’t always easy finding someone who would understand.

Dave Franco sits on a metal chair in a stripped-down Beverly Hills hotel room looking as happy as he can be. All that stuff you read about the actor’s infectious smile being the most winning in the business? Not fake news.

You won’t actually get to see that gregarious grin in Franco’s latest movie, however. In The Lego Ninjago Movie he merely provides the voice of animated brick boy Lloyd, a troubled teen who leads a squad of ninjas against the evil Garmadon who wants to destroy their ancient/modern/futuristic island city.

But even though you won’t get a gander at the 32-year-old star of Neighbors, 21 Jump Street and Now You See Me in the animated feature,

Twilight Star Kellan Lutz Thinks a Reboot Is a Bad Idea
It's been almost five years since The Twilight Saga came to an end with Breaking Dawn - Part 2, and there have been plenty of rumors swirling about the franchise eventually returning to the big screen, but one star doesn't think it should happen. Kellan Lutz, who played Emmet Cullen in all five Twilight Saga movies, revealed in a recent interview that he doesn't think a reboot would make sense in this day and age. Here's what the actor had to say below.

"If Twilight was made in the 1980s or '90s, and then now we have all of the special effects, then yeah, cool, reboot it. But I don't really feel like... I mean, we had great special effects in that movie. Especially Breaking Dawn with Bill Condon. The movies look beautiful and they aren't these action-packed movies or these massive worlds like Marvel where you could reboot it

Lionsgate Re-Ups Patrick Wachsberger as Head of Motion Picture Group

Lionsgate Re-Ups Patrick Wachsberger as Head of Motion Picture Group
Lionsgate has renewed its long-term contract for veteran executive Patrick Wachsberger as head of its motion picture group.

Wachsberger, an expert in foreign sales, has oversight of Lionsgate’s feature film acquisitions, production, and distribution. He and Rob Friedman re-launched Summit Entertainment in 2007 with a beefed-up production slate, leading to Lionsgate buying Summit for $412 million in 2012 after Summit hit paydirt with the enormously successful “Twilight” franchise.

After the merger, Wachsberger and Friedman were named co-presidents of the motion picture group with Summit maintained as a separate releasing label. Friedman left Lionsgate a year ago.

Terms of Wachsberger’s new contract were not available. Lionsgate will hold its annual shareholders meeting at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 12.

During his tenure, Lionsgate’s top performers have been the Hunger Games franchise, which grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide, and “La La Land,” which grossed nearly $450 million worldwide and won six Academy Awards. Other

Rumor: Is Sony Developing Nightwatch For Their Spider-Verse?

  • LRM Online
In case you have been living under a rock for the past few months, Sony is developing a universe built around Spider-Man characters, in the same world as established in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If that doesn’t make sense, I don’t know what to tell you, as we are all still scratching our heads trying to figure out exactly what Sony's Amy Pascal, producer on Homecoming, meant when she said such things.

Sony officially has a Venom film starring Tom Hardy on the way, followed by Silver & Black which will focus on Spider-Man characters Silver Sable and Black Cat. Venom is set to release on October 5, 2018 with Silver & Black following on February 8, 2019. With that aggressive a release schedule, surely Sony is close to choosing a third film for their Spider-Verse?

Jeff Sneider of Meet the Movie Press reports that Sony is

‘Nightwatch’: Spike Lee Could Be in the Running to Direct a Standalone Superhero Movie in the ‘Spider-Man’ Universe — Report
As the many cinematic universes of comic-book franchises continue to expand, unexpected actors and filmmakers continue to enter the fray. Edgar Wright directing “Ant-Man” proved too good to be true, but previews for Taika Waititi’s take on “Thor: Ragnarok” and Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther” inspire more confidence than the average superhero jaunt.

According to Jeff Sneider’s “Meet the Movie Press” podcast, we could be getting an even more appealing director/subject pairing: Spike Lee directing a movie about Nightwatch.

Known among us non-heroes as Dr. Kevin Trench, Nightwatch has one of the more out-there origin stories: He sees a masked man die in a fight and, upon unmasking him, learns that it’s an older version of himself. Sneider says he’s “very confident” in the rumor that “Now You See Me

Rumour: Sony wants Spike Lee to direct Nightwatch movie

It looks like Venom and Silver & Black may not be the only Spider-Man-related spinoffs in development at Sony, as Jeff Sneider is reporting on Meet the Movie Press that the studio is looking to bring Nightwatch to the big screen.

According to Sneider, Sony has already tapped Ed Ricourt (Now You See Me) to start working on a script for the project, and is hoping to entice Spike Lee into the director’s chair.

Nightwatch – a.k.a. Doctor Kevin Trench – made his debut in Web of Spider-Man #97 in 1993, and gains his superpowers after witnessing the death of a costumed hero, who turns out to be a future version of himself.

This isn’t the first time there’s been whispers of Nightwatch coming to the screen – back in September of last year, Bleeding Cool claimed that Sony employees were picking up as many Nightwatch comic books as possible, speculating

Spider-Man Spin-Off Nightwatch Targets Director Spike Lee
Sony's Marvel Universe is about to get a lot bigger with the addition of a possible Spike Lee directed Nightwatch as one of the upcoming Spider-Man spin-offs. The Sony development team is in full swing right now as the Venom movie starring Tom Hardy prepares for production, while talks of a Silver Sable and Black Cat movie continue, with solo adventures for Kraven and Mysterio eyed as well. Nightwatch was rumored to show up in this summer's Spider-Man: Homecoming, but that obviously didn't happen. Now speculation about a standalone movie has begun.

The Punisher: the legacy of Marvel's first superhero film

Mike Cecchini Aug 24, 2017

The Punisher, starring Dolph Lundgren, was the first Marvel superhero movie. It's not as bad as you've heard...

1989's The Punisher is Marvel's first superhero movie.

When you see it written out this way, it is really weird, isn't it? But it's true. The Punisher, the 1989 movie starring Dolph Lundgren as Marvel's premiere vigilante, really is the first Marvel superhero movie. While other Marvel superheroes (most notably Hulk and Spider-Man) had shown up in TV movies and series, they weren't big screen concerns. The 1944 Captain America movie serial doesn't count, because it's a serial not a feature film.  The 1986 Howard the Duck movie is technically the first Marvel film, but he isn't a superhero. None of 'em tick all the appropriate boxes. The Punisher, for better or worse, does.

The Punisher was written by Boaz Yakin (who eventually went on to direct Remember The Titans and co-write

You'll even see more than Daniel Craig sporting a bottle-blond crop-cut hairdo and Seth MacFarlane sporting something on his head that looks like a cross between a mullet, a Jheri curl and roadkill.

Hunger Games, Twilight and Saw Are Getting Their Own Theme Park

  • MovieWeb
One benefit of having a major movie franchise is that they tend to make a whole lot of money at the box office. Another benefit, at least recently, is that studios can then parlay that success into opening a theme park centered on these franchises. That is exactly what Lionsgate is about to do with some of their biggest titles as they are set to open a theme park in South Korea that will be based on movies like Saw, Twilight and The Hunger Games.

The new theme park will reportedly feature seven different "zones" based around different movies produced by Lionsgate. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the park will be called Lionsgate Movie World and will be part of the massive Jeju Shinhwa World resort in South Korea. The movies that are set to be featured at the park include The Hunger Games, Twilight, Now You See Me, Divergent,

Newswire: That Hunger Games theme park is actually happening

  • The AV Club
Today, in ideas you’d think Westworld—or at least “Itchy And Scratchy Land”—would have taught people to stay well the fuck away from, plans for a theme park with areas modeled after The Hunger Games are currently in the works. Lionsgate has been floating this murderously bad idea for a few years now, hoping to entice the franchise’s fans to come hang out in perfectly imagineered recreations of filthy, dystopian coal mines, or possibly a series of maliciously designed murder courses. Now, it’s licensed the series—and several other Lionsgate properties, including Now You See Me and Twilight—to a South Korean theme park developer.

But as excited as we are to experience the Team Edward/Team Jacob dueling brood-coaster—or the Jesse Eisenberg Close-Up Magic Experience—it’s the Hunger Games park that strikes us as the most fascinatingly baffling. Author Suzanne Collins did pretty

Lionsgate Plans South Korean Theme Park With Hunger Games, Twilight Areas

Lionsgate Plans South Korean Theme Park With Hunger Games, Twilight Areas
Lionsgate is planning a South Korean theme park that will have areas devoted to its “Hunger Games,” “Twilight” and “Now You See Me” franchises along with its upcoming “Robin Hood” movie.

The studio is teaming with Landing Jeju Development Co. Ltd. to develop Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World, Korea. The park, which will contain approximately 1.3 million square feet, will be Lionsgate’s first branded outdoor theme park.

The project will be developed into seven movie zones, each themed around a specific Lionsgate property, with visitors experiencing actual movie scenes through state-of-the-art rides, attractions and reproduced streets and towns. Each zone will also feature themed restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and entertainment performances.

The companies said in a joint announcement Tuesday that Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World is expected to commence construction in 2018 and is scheduled to open in 2019. The Lionsgate theme park will be the centerpiece of the Jeju Shinhwa World resort, which
