First Look at Will Smith and Tom Holland's Spies in Disguise
Fox Animation, Chernin Entertainment and Blue Sky Studios have announced the voice casting for their upcoming animated film Spies In Disguise. The studio has brought on Will Smith and Tom Holland to lead the voice cast as Lance and Walter in this animated comedy, while also releasing the first two photos featuring each of these characters. It's unclear at this time if the studio will be announcing any further voice cast members for this new project in the near future.

Spies In Disguise is a buddy comedy set in the high octane globe-trotting world of international espionage. Will Smith (Men in Black) voices Lance Sterling, the world's most awesome spy. Cool, charming and super-skilled, saving the world is his occupation. And nobody does it better. Almost the exact opposite of Lance is Walter, voiced by Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming). Walter is a great mind but perhaps not a great socializer.

Robotech movie to be written by Wonder Woman's Jason Fuchs

Shamus Kelley Sep 13, 2017

The co-writer of this summer's smash hit Wonder Woman will be space folding into the Robotech franchise.

The Robotech movie just gained one hell of a super boost. Deadline reports that Jason Fuchs, credited for co-writing the story for Warner Bros' recent Wonder Woman film with Zach Snyder and Allan Heinsberg, is on board to write the Sony feature film based on the cult 80s anime series.

Besides Wonder Woman, Fuchs has also notably written Ice Age: Continental Drift and Pan.

Back in July when Andy Muschietti was attached to the project as director, no writer had been assigned but Sony was confidant he'd find someone. With Fuchs now on board the project can hopefully start moving forward. The film has been in development for quite a long time with various writers and directors attached, including James Wan before Muschietti was brought on.

Robotech Movie Gets Wonder Woman Writer
With It remake director Andy Muschietti coming aboard Sony's long-gestating Robotech adaptation in July, the project has added another key creative addition with Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) signing on to write the script. This adaptation has been in development for several years, but now it seems it may finally have a shot of making it through production. Still, the studio hasn't set a production start date or even a release date yet, but still it's good news for fans of the franchise who have been waiting years to see this story on the big screen.

Deadline reports that Jason Fuchs will be working with Andy Muschietti to craft a brand new story from scratch, meaning they will discard the drafts written by several different writers over the years. We first reported on this adaptation back in 2008, when Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan signed on to write the script. Since then,

How Disney and Pixar’s Animated Box Office Reign Could be Dethroned by Universal’s Minions

How Disney and Pixar’s Animated Box Office Reign Could be Dethroned by Universal’s Minions
Pixar’s “Cars 3” and Illumination Entertainment’s “Despicable 3” open tomorrow and June 30, respectively; early estimates suggest it’s the Minions that will rule the world. And if that’s the case, Universal could become the most successful animation distributor in domestic box office.

Disney still holds sway on a global basis; over the last five years, Disney-distributed animation has grossed just over $5 billion to Universal’s $3.35 billion. However, as a producer Illumination’s box office is bigger than either Disney or Pixar, domestic and foreign, and with this latest round it could become more successful than both entities combined at the domestic box office.

Wonder Woman Extended TV Spot Reveals New Footage

Wonder Woman Extended TV Spot Reveals New Footage
Last week, Warner Bros. released the Comic-Con trailer for Wonder Woman, which was well-received by fans. Since we still have roughly 10 months until this movie hits theaters, most weren't expecting a new TV spot already, but one surfaced this weekend, which is essentially a shorter version of the Sdcc trailer. Still, we don't know when more footage will be unveiled, so this TV spot will help tide fans over until a new trailer drops.

This TV spot surfaced on YouTube, debuting just over a week after Warner Bros.' Comic-Con panel. The panel was hosted by Conan O'Brien, featuring director Patty Jenkins, who then introduced Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) and Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot, who expressed how it is an "honor and a privilege" to bring this iconic character Diana Prince to life on the big screen, and how she feels a huge responsibility to portray this character accurately.

Weekend Forecast: 'Jason Bourne', 'Bad Moms' and 'Nerve' Hit Theaters

Weekend Forecast: 'Jason Bourne', 'Bad Moms' and 'Nerve' Hit Theaters
Star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass return to the Bourne franchise after a nine year, one film hiatus as Jason Bourne is looking at a #1 finish as it debuts in over 4,000 theaters this weekend. The weekend also features the R-rated comedy Bad Moms and Nerve, a PG-13, teen-targeted thriller that opened on Wednesday with $3.75 million and hopes to find an audience over the weekend as a piece of counter-counter-programming. Looking at a comfortable first place finish is Universal's Jason Bourne, the fifth film in the Bourne franchise and fourth starring Damon in the title role following the lackluster response to 2012's The Bourne Legacy starring Jeremy Renner. That said, this should be looked at more as a sequel to The Bourne Ultimatum, which opened with $69.2 million in August 2007. Of course, this year has not been kind to the majority of sequels. Following last weekend's opening for Star Trek Beyond and Ice Age: Collision Course,

Watch the Full Wonder Woman Panel from Comic-Con
While Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice turned out to be much more divisive than Warner Bros. would have liked, even most of the critics and fans who didn't enjoy the movie had nothing but high praise for Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Next summer, fans will learn even more about this iconic character when the stand alone movie hits theaters on June 2, 2017. As expected, Warner Bros. brought director Patty Jenkins and some of her cast members to Comic-Con for the studio's Hall H panel on Saturday, where the very first trailer was unveiled. Today, the studio has also revealed the full panel video, where the director and her stars offer new details about the movie.

Host Conan O'Brien brought out director Patty Jenkins, who then introduced Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) and Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot. After the trailer was shown to

"Star Trek Beyond" Tops The Box-Office

The Justin Lin-directed "Star Trek Beyond" topped the box-office within the United States this weekend with $59.6 million. It's a strong opening, but that number is down from the $75 million and $70 million openings of the two previous J.J. Abrams-directed "Star Trek" films.

Coming in at a budget of $185 million, the film also made a further $30 million from 37 global markets which, like the U.S. opening, were down by a similar 15-20% or so. The film has scored good critical reviews, and yet there's also plenty of editorials and complaints within the reviews suggesting the new film essentially retreads old formula and in the process plays it far too safe with a familiar story.

Hopefully that will change with the next film with J.J. Abrams revealing last week to EW that the storyline for the upcoming fourth film is his "favorite Star Trek story that we've had. It really is an amazing story,

'Star Trek Beyond' Debuts at #1, 'Lights Out' Opens Strong and 'Ice Age 5' Bombs

'Star Trek Beyond' Debuts at #1, 'Lights Out' Opens Strong and 'Ice Age 5' Bombs
Topped by Star Trek Beyond, five films grossed over $20 million this weekend for the first time since May 24, 2015 and for only the sixth time ever*. In the five previous instances $45.6 million was the largest gross for the #1 film when Monsters University topped the weekend back on June 30, 2013, which separates this weekend from the rest thanks to the estimated $59.6 million Beyond delivered in its debut performance. Also opening this weekend, and topping the $20 million threshold, was the impressive performance from New Line and Warner's Lights Out along with the rather disappointing opening for Ice Age: Collision Course. Overall, the top twelve grossed over $183 million, up 29.4% when compared to the same weekend last year. The estimated $59.6 million opening for Star Trek Beyond is enough to take #1 for the weekend, but that's a 15% drop compared to the $70.1 million opening for Star Trek Into Darkness, and that's not including the $13.5 million it carried into

Box Office: ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Dominates Opening Weekend, Blasts Toward $60 Million
Paramount’s “Star Trek Beyond” is dominating at the U.S. box office as the latest entry in the durable franchise heads to a solid $60 million opening weekend, estimates showed Saturday.

The 13th “Star Trek” movie is performing in line with forecasts and will wind up the weekend with more than double the nearest rival — Illumination-Universal’s third frame of hit animated comedy “The Secret Life of Pets” with about $28 million at 4,048 locations. “Pets” will finish with nearly $260 million in its first 17 days.

Fox’s launch of animated comedy “Ice Age: Collision Course” debuted in third place with a somewhat disappointing $21 million at 3,992 sites as “The Secret Life of Pets” blunted its potential attraction in the family space. New Line’s opening of horror-thriller “Lights Out” could edge past the fifth Ice Age film as it was outperforming forecasts with $20.4 million at 2,818 venues.

Sony’s second weekend of “Ghostbusters” could

Box Office: ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Heads for $60 Million Opening Weekend
Paramount’s “Star Trek Beyond” is dominating the U.S. box office, blasting off for an impressive weekend of as much as $60 million at 3,928 locations, early estimates showed Friday.

It’s a solid start for the 13th film in the durable franchise, following a summer that’s seen notably disappointing performances from several sequels.

That negative trend appears to be dragging down Fox’s animated comedy “Ice Age: Collision Course,” which looks to under-perform in the $22 million range at 3,992 venues. The fifth “Ice Age” movie may wind up trailing the third weekend of “Secret Life of Pets” and the second weekend of “Ghostbusters” in a battle for second place.

New Line’s low-cost horror-thriller “Lights Out” is overperforming with initial estimates showing a debut between $15 million and $20 million at 2,818 sites.

Star Trek Beyond,” the third film in the rebooted sci-fi series, opens Friday at 3,928 sites and appears to be performing in line with projections.

'Ice Age: Collision Course' Review: Thaw and Order

'Ice Age: Collision Course' Review: Thaw and Order
What's the use of getting all pissy about a kiddie cartoon? Watch Ice Age: Collison Course and see how you feel. The fifth entry in the Ice Age series is a loud, lazy, laugh-starved cash grab that cynically exploits its target audience (I use the term advisedly) by serving them scraps and calling it yummy. Even two-year-olds can see through the hustle.

You can't blame the animators, who do what they can to spark the visuals. But screenwriters Michael Wilson, Michael Berg and Yoni Brenner are running on less than empty.

'Star Trek Beyond' Beams Into Theaters Alongside 'Ice Age 5' and 'Lights Out'
Two more sequels arrive this weekend and, like several sequels this year, both are looking to underperform when compared to the previous installment in their respective franchises. Star Trek Beyond and Ice Age: Collision Course represent the 21st and 22nd wide release sequels this year after only four (Finding Dory, Captain America: Civil War, The Purge: Election Year and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) have been able to outperform their franchise predecessor at the domestic box office. Also opening this weekend is the new PG-13 thriller Lights Out from producer James Wan as well as the moderate roll out of Fox Searchlight's Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie while Hillary's America expands nationwide into over 1,200 theaters. Targeting a first place finish is Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the rebooted franchise and the first with someone other than J.J. Abrams at the helm. Those duties fell on the shoulders of
