Trailer Watch: Amy Schumer Thinks She’s a Super Model in “I Feel Pretty”

“I Feel Pretty”

Amy Schumer gets an invisible makeover that changes her life in “I Feel Pretty.” The comedy sees her playing Renee, a woman who suffers from low self-esteem. Convinced that her life is adversely affected by her looks, she’s “always wondered what it feels like to be undeniably pretty,” she admits in a new trailer for the pic.

“Women know deep down it’s what’s on the outside that the whole world judges,” Renee says. Her theory is put to the test when an accident at a Soul Cycle class leaves her completely physically transformed — but in her eyes alone. “I look exactly the same but in my mind I am Giselle [Bündchen], I am one of the Jenner-Kardashians,” Schumer explained on “Ellen,” where she premiered the spot. Renee starts living with the confidence of a super model even though she doesn’t look like one.

Her first major role was in 2004's Mean Girls in which she played 17-year-old Regina (despite being 26), and shortly after that, she took on Allie Hamilton in our favorite watch-to-make-us-cry movie, The Notebook. Since then, McAdams has stayed at the top of our favorite actresses list, taking on movies like Wedding Crashers, The Vow and Southpaw. She even dabbled in television, playing Detective Ani Bezzerides in 2015's...

Michelle Williams joins Amy Schumer in I Feel Pretty

Joseph Baxter Jun 2, 2017

Michelle Williams teams up with Amy Schumer in the life-affirming conceptual comedy I Feel Pretty.

I Feel Pretty, a concept-based comedy starring Amy Schumer, will add some interesting performance gravitas to its cast with the acquisition of four-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Michelle Williams.

According to Deadline, Williams joins I Feel Pretty to play Avery LeClaire, the boss of a cosmetics company at which Schumer’s character Renee Bennett works. The premise of the film follows Renee – a purportedly unexceptional, average-sized woman who’s surrounded by the genetically gifted – who falls off an exercise bike, leading to a head-injury-induced 'spell' that leaves her under the belief that she is – by perceived conventional standards – stunningly beautiful, even though her appearance did not change. However, Renee’s newfound confidence seems to carry her far in her job, earning respect from her boss Avery (Williams). Yet, with her

Newswire: Amy Schumer to star in mysterious new comedy I Feel Pretty

Amy Schumer’s no longer set to play a Barbie girl in a live-action Barbie movie world, but her next film still sounds like it will center on appearances. Variety reports the Inside Amy Schumer creator and star has signed on to a mysterious new comedy titled I Feel Pretty. The film is being co-written and co-directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the frequent collaborators behind the screenplays/stories of such films as He’s Just Not That Into You, Valentine’s Day, The Vow, and How To Be Single. Given their history, there will presumably be a significant romantic element to I Feel Pretty’s comedy, though Variety would only say that the film’s plot is “being kept under wraps.”

But unnamed sources close to the project tell The A.V. Club the movie is about “an insecure young woman who suffers a head injury during a
