CBS TV Shows: 2017-18 Viewer Votes

Every year, the CBS television network introduces new TV series, which are either cancelled or renewed by the season's end. Likewise, among existing shows, there are strong performers while others end up as the television vulture's TV dinner du jour. Although everyone understands the Nielsen ratings usually play a big role in TV cancellations and renewals, most fans do not get to participate in that system. Since so many viewers' opinions do not factor into the Tiffany Network's programming decisions, we are offering you the chance to submit your own CBS TV show ratings to us, instead. You can vote on the following CBS TV series that have premiered (so far) during the 2017-17 television season: 9Jkl, The Amazing Race, The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, Bull, Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-0, Kevin Can Wait, Life In Pieces, MacGyver, Madam Secretary, Man with a Plan, The Mayor, Me Myself

David Boreanaz, Primetime’s Most Valuable Player, Has Another Hit With ‘Seal Team’ — Ratings Watch
David Boreanaz is once again proving his primetime power. Fresh off a 12-season run on the Fox staple “Bones,” Boreanaz didn’t miss a beat: His new CBS drama, “Seal Team,” has already been given a full 22-episode first season order, and is shoo-in for a sophomore renewal.

Not many performers can brag about starring in back-to-back-to-back hits, which makes Boreanaz a TV heavy hitter on par with stars like Ted Danson and William Shatner — the rare actors who have enjoyed multiple hits on unrelated shows. Boreanaz, of course, top-lined the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff “Angel” for several years (and 110 episodes) before moving on to 246 episodes of “Bones.”

Seal Team” stars Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of the Tier One team, a group deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice. The show has been consistently making the top 25 ratings among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Hawaii Five-0's Meaghan Rath Previews Quarantine Crisis, Flash Forward Reveal
There’s double trouble on Hawaii Five-0 this week, as the CBS drama enters the holiday break with not one but two episodes (starting tonight at 9/8c) .

The first hour continues last week’s storyline about McGarrett, Danny, Tani and Junior being quarantined after their exposure to and treatment for a bio-weapon. During that episode, a delirious, gunshot Danny has visions of the future — Grace’s wedding and Charlie’s graduation from the police academy included. Then, it’s Five-Ho-Ho-Ho as the team bumps up against some bad Santas.

Hawaii Five-0 Taps Vincent Pastore to Play Danny's 'Uncle' From Jersey
Well, this Hawaii Five-0 casting should be a big hit with TV fans: The Sopranos veteran Vincent Pastore is joining the cast of the CBS procedural in a recurring role.

Our sister site Deadline reports that Pastore will play Danny’s “uncle” Vito, a contractor who hails from (you guessed it) New Jersey. Vito prides himself on being a Mr. Fix-It and travels to Hawaii to help Danny open his restaurant. Danny always assumed Vito was in the mob… even though the guy really doesn’t have any ties to organized crime.

Hawaii Five-0 Review: Exposed (Again)

Hawaii Five-0 has been trying to find its legs again after the departure of two of its series stars, and for the first time, it seems to have regained some of the magic. New members Tani and Junior both tag along on this mission, and both kind of wish they hadn’t. Both of their training has put them in a bunch of different scenarios, but there’s no real way to practice being exposed to a biological weapon. Ironically, Steve and Danny are the exceptions. Danny was exposed to a biological weapon way back in Season 1, and Steve has been

Charlie Brown vs. Rudolph: Here’s Who Won This Year’s Battle of the Classic Christmas Specials — Ratings Watch
Good grief! Christmas specials are in full swing, and the networks dusted off some of their biggest classics last week: ABC’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and CBS’ “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” In their inaugural 2017 runs, “Rudolph” (2.1 among adults 18-49) edged out “Charlie Brown” (1.8), giving a ratings edge to the reindeer with a very shiny nose.

“Rudolph,” which premiered in 1964, and “Charlie Brown,” which first bowed in 1965, are considered the key staples in a sea of primetime holiday specials, some of which have come and gone over the years. But both specials were overshadowed this year by a newcomer: “DreamWorks Trolls Holiday,” which averaged a 2.4 rating when it aired on Nov. 24, during the Thanksgiving weekend.

But there are plenty of caveats to all of this, since none of the specials actually faced off in the same time slot. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” performed respectably considering it aired in a tough Thursday 8 p.

Hawaii Five-0 Review: Fly Me Anywhere But Here

I will say this once for the people who can’t recall why Hawaii Five-0′s Steve McGarrett needed a kidney transplant in the first place. Steve should not be allowed to fly planes-not ever. Every time he gets near a plane, he takes an even greater risk with his life. Considering this is also a man who has radiation poisoning, that’s saying something. But when a job needs to get done, Steve does it. This week it just happened to involve flying, and the resistance Five-0 comes up against with a federal agency. Steve has no problem throwing his weight around
