‘Vacation’ Helmers To Direct Stand-Alone ‘Flash’ Movie

Vacation filmmakers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are reportedly in negotiations to direct the stand-alone movie based around Ezra Miller’s The Flash over at Warner Brothers.

The film is titled Flashpoint and looks set to have a more comedic tone than some of the other stand-alone DC movies because of the duo’s past. As well as directing the Vacation film, the two also have the upcoming Game Night with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. They also have writing credits for Horrible Bosses, Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone in their back-catalogue.

Variety initially reported the news of Daley and Goldstein’s potential involvement and, in their original article, state that Ben Affleck was also reportedly offered the gig, but passed.

There’s no timeline for the Flashpoint movie that we can see, but we’ll keep you posted.

'Vacation' Filmmakers Tapped for 'The Flash' Solo Movie

Filmmakers John Francis Daley (above, right) and Jonathan Goldstein (above, left) have built up an impressive resume in Hollywood. As writers, they contributed to Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 before making the leap to the directing chair(s) with the comic remake Vacation. The latter film earned more than $100 million at the box office worldwide. Their work on the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming showed they could deliver the blueprint for a very successful action blockbuster that was laced with comic overtones. Now they're in negotiations to direct Flashpoint, according to Variety. The solo movie will, of course, revolve around The Flash, the speedy superhero who made very brief appearances in Batman v Superman...

Flashpoint Movie Gets Vacation Directors Daley and Goldstein

Warner Bros. has finally brought on new filmmakers for its long-awaited Flashpoint movie, with John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation, Game Night) entering negotiations to direct. The studio had previously been courting Ben Affleck to direct this movie, and while he ultimately passed, that may have explained the rumor from last month that the actor will return as Batman in the Flashpoint movie, but not in The Batman, with his involvement in that project still very much up in the air. Warner Bros. had no comment on the story, and while it may be some time before there's confirmation, it seems clear the Flashpoint movie is finally back on the right track.

The project has had more than its fair share of ups and downs, with The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller first tapped to direct this project a few years ago, but they ultimately

‘Flashpoint’: John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein Tapped to Direct [Updated]

About a month before their action-comedy film Game Night hits theaters, directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have apparently landed a big new Warner Bros. role: They're in negotiations to direct Flashpoint, the solo film in the Dceu that features Ezra Miller's Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash. The directors, whose previous collaboration was the attempted dysfunctional family comedy reboot Vacation, have a lengthier history in the business together as writers for the Horrible Bosses movies and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, and are part of the Hasbro/Paramount writers room. Variety reports that Francis Daley …

Warner Bros. Taps Spider-Man: Homecoming Scribes To Helm Flashpoint

Barry Allen has finally found a new director. Or directors, according to Variety.

Spider-Man: Homecoming scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have officially been handed the keys to Flashpoint, Warner’s long-in-development standalone movie featuring Ezra Miller’s Scarlett Speedster.

In doing so, they’ve become the third (and hopefully final) directing team to have a crack at Flash, given Dope filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa left the spinoff project in 2016 due to creative differences – ditto for Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) who was initially expected to direct from his own script.

The appointment of Daley and Goldstein has been long on the cards, it seems, as Warner Bros. executives were wary of announcing a replacement(s) so soon after Famuyiwa’s departure – not to mention the fact that Ezra Miller was busy filming Justice League and fellow WB property, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The 11 Most Disappointing Movies of 2017

The 11 Most Disappointing Movies of 2017
When you look back at 2017, most of the movies weren’t what made history. Hollywood was rocked by a series of sexual harassment allegations, which led to the firings of Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose and others. That led to an important national dialogue about conduct in the workplace.

TV once again proved to be ahead of the blockbusters, at least when it came to offering textured roles for women. HBO’s “Big Little Lies” scored a coup by landing three of the biggest actresses out there (Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley). FX’s “Feud: Bette and Joan” shot for the stars with Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange portraying acting royalty. And Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” earned Elisabeth Moss an Emmy, amid a wave of reinvigorated feminism during Donald Trump’s first year in the White House.

At the multiplexes, ticket sales were at the lowest since 1995, with a projected

By Far the Worst Thing Ever Discovered on Mythbusters

So yes, it’s okay to feel sick to your stomach on this one. But one of the worst episodes, well, the most disturbing episodes at any rate, has to do with fecal matter on your toothbrush. No, I’m not talking about the scene in Horrible Bosses where the guy flosses his butt with his boss’s toothbrush, because that’s flat out nasty anyway. But the mythbusters did an episode concerning the veracity of the claim that toilets send up a fine spray of water that contains fecal matter that can then settle on everything around it. Sounds nasty doesn’t it? I

Movie Review – Daddy’s Home 2 (2017)

Daddy’s Home 2, 2017.

Directed by Sean Anders.

Starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, John Cena, Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosio, Owen Vaccaro, Scarlett Estevez, Didi Costine, and Oscar Wahlberg

Brad and Dusty must deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays.

The greatest strength of the Daddy’s Home series continues to be on-the-nose casting. Released in 2015, the first dysfunctional family comedy made use of the excellent comedic Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedic pairing (a duo that were absolutely electric in The Other Guys), so it’s only fitting that director and co-writer Sean Anders (returning for the sequel and also known for Horrible Bosses) have found grandfather components containing that same hysterical chemistry by way of drastically opposing personalities.

Starting with Mel Gibson as Kurt, father to Mark Wahlberg’s Dusty, it’s important to note that he isn’t exactly a carbon copy. Sure,
