Jay Thomas, ‘Murphy Brown’ and ‘Cheers’ Actor, Dies at 69
Actor Jay Thomas, best known for his roles in the classic sitcoms “Murphy Brown” and “Cheers,” has died, Variety has confirmed. He was 69.

According to The New York Daily News, which first reported the news, Thomas died following a battle with cancer. No other details were immediately available about the circumstances of his death.

Vampire Diaries Recap: 'Mommy's Friend'

Vampire Diaries Recap: 'Mommy's Friend'
Friday’s Vampire Diaries, which gets my vote for the best episode of the season (so far), felt like a true return to form for the seven-year-old series: It was funny, heartbreaking, exciting… and, uh, can we talk about those last seven words?

PhotosVampire Diaries Exclusive: First Look at New Mystery Organization ‘The Armory’

“Where are we going?” one of Alaric’s daughters — who were totally born this week, but we’ll discuss that later — asked in the episode’s flash-forward. “To New Orleans,” Caroline replied from the front seat, “to visit Mommy’s friend.” Mommy’s. Friend. There

Watch Episode 8 of Comedy Web Series 'The Art Of Theatrical Ushery'

Here is episode 8 of the ongoing comedy series "The Art of Theatrical Ushery," by filmmaker Christopher Banks. The series, which deals with the daily trials and tribulations of being a movie usher Ronnell (played by Banks) in a multiplex movie theater, is a re-edited and re-tooled version of a feature that Banks created. However, the now reformatted web series, he feels, is much closer to his original intentions; Or as he says: “Every minute, every second (is designed) to make you laugh.” So now here is the 8th episode, entitled "Labor Pains" in which Ronnell, due to circumstances beyond his control, is forced to find another line of work

The Simpsons Review: “Labor Pains” (Season 25, Episode 5)

It’s perhaps the worst kept secret in TV that Homer is a terrible father, but in the latest episode of The Simpsons, Homer finally learns what it means to be a good father, at least for this week.

In this week’s episode, Homer spins a tissue of lies that allows him to play cards with the guys at Karl’s house while telling Marge that he has to work late. On his way home, Homer encounters Karl’s neighbour, Gretchen (special guest voice Elisabeth Moss), and is forced to deliver her baby when the power goes out, stranding them in the elevator. Homer develops an attachment to the baby, who Gretchen names Homer Junior (finally, Homer has someone to call HoJu!), and despite Marge’s shock and anger that Homer has a new family on the side, she can’t dispute the effect that HoJu has on the big guy.

So sweet! Beyonce says ‘communicating’ with her unborn daughter helped get her through the pain of childbirth.

Giving birth for the first time is never easy for any woman, but luckily Beyonce had some help — from her daughter, Blue Ivy! Queen Bey says she and her unborn baby “were talking” throughout the process and it helped ease her labor pains. Read on for all the details!

Beyonce: Blue Ivy Helped Get Me Through Labor Pains

There’s no connection as strong as the one between a mother and a daughter — and Beyonce says she felt Blue Ivy reaching out to her even as she was giving birth to her, the UK’s Daily Mail reports.

“We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication,” Beyonce says in the November issue of Marie Claire Australia.

“I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: Keep the Tiny Human Makers Happy

  • TVfanatic
The superstorm is coming to Seattle, and the impact is sure to be wide-ranging.

In the Grey's Anatomy Season 9 finale, Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital enters crisis mode as resources become scarce, patients flood in by the busload and the panic level becomes palpable.

In the first clip from the episode released by ABC, we see tensions rise as evacuations are halted and Arizona tries to keep people from freaking out ... while looking a little freaked herself.

Alex, meanwhile, asks for backup in the Nicu given the shortages of staff. Given the events of last week, Arizona clearly has more on her mind than just keeping tiny human makers calm.

Check out the scene from "Perfect Storm" and share your comments below:

Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss Will Guest-Star on The Simpsons Next Fall
The Simpsons is welcoming another member of the Mad Man cast to Springfield: Elisabeth Moss will voice a character on Fox's animated classic this fall, Vulture can exclusively report. According to showrunner Al Jean, "She'll play a character stuck in an elevator who gives birth to a baby. She names it Homer, Jr." (Peggy Olson is pregnant again!) For you detailed-oriented Simpsons diehards, the episode's title is "Labor Pains," Moss's character is named "Gretchen," and Fox is tentatively scheduled to broadcast the episode on November 13 as part of the show's 25th season. The Simpsons long ago established its love for Mad Men: Both Jon Hamm and John Slattery have lent their voices to the show, while this 2008 parody of the AMC drama's opening credits was pretty much perfect.

‘Downton Abbey’ Season Finale Recap: Death Takes Another Crawley

The family experiences its most joyful occasion, and most tragic setback, as the season winds down.

The Crawleys made their annual trip to Scotland on the Feb. 17 season finale of Downton Abbey, but even though they got far away from home, they brought all of their baggage with them: Mary (Michelle Dockery) bickered with Edith about her relationship with that newspaper chap, Anna revealed her “racy” side to Bates, and the family officially decided to house Rose while her parents go to India — even though Rose sucks.

A very pregnant Mary also had everyone concerned when she had to leave the Ghilles’ Ball early — oh, did I forget to mention there was another time jump and she’s pregnant now? — but she was able to get home and give birth to a healthy baby boy just in time.

Of course, the Crawleys’ celebration will likely be cut short when they

‘Downton Abbey’ Recap: Robert & Cora Clash Over Sybil’s Death

Lord Grantham fought with nearly everyone in the abbey — and a few outside the abbey — this week, proving once again how truly awful he is.

I’ve always hated Robert (Hugh Bonneville) for being such a self-righteous d-bag, but never have I wanted to punch him through the TV screen more than during the Feb. 3 episode of Downton Abbey. Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) behavior towards him was colder than Sybil’s body — yikes, too soon? — and I couldn’t have been happier about it.

Robert vs. Cora

Still angry with her idiot husband for letting Sybil die, Cora has been sleeping alone. No matter how many times Robert asked to be let back into bed, she refused him, unable to forgive him for listening to Sir Phillip over Dr. Carson. In fact, it wasn’t until the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) asked Dr. Clarkson to lie and say Sybil would

‘Downton Abbey’ Fans Tweet Outrage Over Latest Character’s Death

Stop reading now if you haven’t seen the Jan. 27 episode of ‘Downton Abbey!’ (Also, buy a DVR!)

The TV world lost a gem of a character Jan. 27 when Downton Abbey‘s Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) died during childbirth — technically we actually lost her back when the episode originally aired last October in the U.K., but whatever — and as always, fans used social media to express their outrage.

While opinions are like Twitter handles — everybody’s got one — I decided to sift through the internet and pick out some of my personal favorite reactions.

My first selection comes from comedian Patton Oswalt, whose live tweets of Downton Abbey are among the best things on Twitter. Rather than wish the writers had decided to let Sybil live, Mr. Oswalt dreamt up a supernatural scenario in which the residents of Downton literally battle the forces of life and death to revive her.

‘Downton Abbey’ Death: How Eclampsia Killed Beloved Character

  • HollywoodLife
On the Jan. 27 episode of ‘Downtown Abbey,’ one beautiful new life was created, while another shocking death rocked the entire series. Dr. Linda Burke-Galloway spoke to HollywoodLife.com Exclusively to reveal the details behind the illness and why it killed a beloved Crawley family member.

Downton Abbey is nothing if not shocking — and episode four of season three caught everyone off guard when one of the Crawleys suffered a shocking death that no one saw coming.

On the Jan. 27 episode, sweet Sybil Crawley went into labor, but the joy of having a baby was stifled when Dr. Clarkson pointed out that Sybil suffering from symptoms of preeclampsia — she had swollen ankles and there was excess protein in her urine, but Sir Philip insisted the symptoms were just normal signs of childbirth.

It turns out, her symptoms were something — Sybil was suffering from the dangerous condition called preeclampsia, also known as toxemia.
