Rumour: Woody Harrelson playing Carnage in the Venom movie?

A few days ago a rumour surfaced claiming to offer details on Carnage’s role in Sony’s upcoming Venom solo movie, with the report claiming that the character of Cletus Kasady would make a fleeting appearance towards the end of the film.

According to That Hashtag Show, Eddie Brock will find himself in San Quentin prison, where he’s introduced to Kasady and we see a portion of the symbiote making its way towards the serial killer before the screen cuts to black, setting up Carnage for an appearance in the sequel.

Well the site is now claiming that Kasady will be played by director Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland co-star Woody Harrelson, who was announced as cast in the movie back in December, and was not seen once during all of the set photos that emerged during production.

Spider-Man 3 star Thomas Haden Church has praised Topher Grace’s Venom

Thomas Haden Church, one of the stars of Spider-Man 3, has defended Topher Grace’s portrayal of Venom.

Venom is making the headlines recently with Tom Hardy set to star as the fan-favourite villain, and a first teaser trailer recently arriving online.

Fans are hoping Hardy’s portrayal is more to their liking than that of Grace’s who once gave a much criticised performance as the character back in 2007.

Church, who played Sandman in the final film of the Spider-Man trilogy, is a fan of Grace’s performance, however, defending him in a recent interview with JoBlo:

“The studio felt like they had me, they had Franco’s story continuing, and they were like, we need one more that’s more of a millennial,” Church revealed. “And that’s how Venom and Topher Grace came into the picture. And by the way, I thought Topher was great in the

Rumored details on Carnage’s role in the Venom movie

Rumored details on Carnage’s role in the Venom movie
From the moment that Sony first announced it would be launching a shared Spider-Man spinoff universe with a Venom movie, it’s been rumored from several sources that Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock will find himself doing battle with Cletus Kasady, a.k.a. Carnage.

So far, there’s been no confirmation on this front; we’ve heard nothing about casting for Carnage, and there wasn’t any hint on the character in the first teaser trailer (but hey, we didn’t get to see Venom either, so…)

Well, if a new rumor from

The Flickering Myth Reaction to the Venom teaser trailer

The Flickering Myth writing team share their thoughts on the first teaser trailer for Venom

As Sony pushes full steam ahead with its plans for a shared Spider-Man universe (sans Spider-Man, apparently), the studio give us our very first glimpse of the launch title this week with the arrival of a teaser trailer for Venom, which is being directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer and stars Tom Hardy in the lead role as Eddie Brock. Here’s what the writing team at Flickering Myth made of it…

Chris Cooper: Really underwhelmed. I fully expect Hardy to bring it, and I wonder if they’re holding back for after Infinity War. But that was average.

Ben Robins: There’s practically nothing to react to without a decent look at the symbiote or Venom himself. Style wise it looks nice and dark, and Hardy seems better than Topher Grace (like

In Venom, Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, a man who becomes linked with an alien Symbiote that turns him into Venom, one of the ultimate villains in the Spider-Man universe. Watch the first trailer for Sony’s Venom starring Tom Hardy

After yesterday’s reveal of the teaser poster, Sony has now released the first trailer for Venom, the Spider-Man spin-off starring Tom Hardy (Dunkirk) as the fan favourite anti-hero. Watch the trailer below…

Venom is based on one of Spider-Man’s most well known villains/anti-heroes. Photographer Eddie Brock came into contact with the alien symbiote that had previously infected Spidey, gaining much of his spider powers and an invulnerability to his Spider-Sense. Sharing an intense hatred for both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, Eddie and the symbiote became Venom, swearing revenge on Spidey for ruining his life. Venom has also become an anti-hero, taking on the worst criminals and often coming into conflict with the other symbiote villain, Carnage.

The film is set to take its inspiration from the comic book story arcs Venom: Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes. As yet, there’s been no word on an official synopsis for the movie.

‘Venom’ Trailer Breakdown: Six Major Takeaways From the First Footage of Tom Hardy’s Transformation

‘Venom’ Trailer Breakdown: Six Major Takeaways From the First Footage of Tom Hardy’s Transformation
Venom” is coming, and the first footage previewed in the first teaser trailer suggests fans can rest easy. Tom Hardy steps into the shoes of Eddie Brock, last played on the big screen by Topher Grace in a supporting role in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 3.” Now Brock gets a film all to himself, and it looks like “Venom” will be somewhat of an origin story mixed with a scientific thriller.

The movie stars Hardy opposite Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed. Ruben Fleischer, best known for making “Zombieland” and “Gangster Squad,” handles directing duties. “Venom” promises to be the next big R-rated superhero film following “Logan” and the “Deadpool” films. The First Teaser Trailer For Tom Hardy's Venom Has Been Unleashed

Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Tom Hardy's Venom, and unfortunately, it doesn't give us much. This is very much a tease of what's to come. It features a lot of Tom Hardy, but it doesn't show us what he'll actually look like as Venom.

It pretty much sets the stage for the story and Eddie Brock's transformation. This first teaser trailer didn't really do anything to get me excited, but I'm still looking forward to seeing how this movie turns out! I still hope that it's good! Maybe you'll enjoy the trailer more than I did. I just expected a better first impression.

Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, the host for Venom. He will be joined by Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman), Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Jenny Slate (Zootopia) and Woody Harrelson (True Detective).

Venom is being directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland,

Tom Hardy in First Teaser Trailer for Ruben Fleischer's 'Venom' Movie

"Whatever it is, you used to be one thing... and now you're something else." Sony Pictures has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the Venom solo movie, a new sort-of spin-off from the Sony Spider-Man universe, focusing on the fan-favorite symbiote villain character. Tom Hardy stars as journalist Eddie Brock in this movie, directed by Ruben Fleischer (of Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, Gangster Squad). As usual, Sony has released two trailers - a domestic and an international teaser trailer - to give us a quick introduction. There's some cool footage, but no actual shots of Venom (in full) revealed here yet. The full cast includes Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Lee, Sailor Larocque, Reid Scott, and a rumored appearance by Tom Holland as Spidey. I'm curious but still not entirely into this yet, maybe with some better footage, because I trust Fleischer knows what he's doing.
