2013 Eisner Award Winners Announced

The 2013 Eisner Award Winners have been announced at San Diego Comic-Con with Chris Ware leading the wins for his celebrated work Building Stories, alongside Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga which also won a number of awards.

The Eisners are awarded each year at the San Diego Comic-Con and are the most prestigious awards in the comics industry, being the comics equivalent of the Oscars.

The Eisners are named after Will Eisner, one of the most celebrated artist/writers in comics whose works included creating the superhero series The Spirit as well as his masterpiece, A Contract with God, one of the best books of the 20th century.

This year saw artist/writer Chris Ware pick up the lion’s share of the awards for his book/construction project Building Stories, winning Best New Graphic Album, Best Writer/Artist, Best Lettering, and Best Publication Design.

Comic-Con International has released the complete list of nominees for the 2013 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. The winners of the award will be revealed during the annual ceremony held at Comic-Con International in San Diego on July 19.

'Young Justice League' Animated Series In The Works?

Could a "Young Justice League" animated series be on the horizon? A report that hit the 'Net and was removed a short time later seems to indicate that's the case.

"I am beyond thrilled to announce that I was recently cast in the new animated series, 'Young Justice League', based on the famous (and awesome!?) DC Comics," wrote actress Stephanie Lemelin in a statement on her website that was snagged by Mania.com before being removed. "I seriously could not be more excited about being welcomed into this amazing family… what a fantastic way to start the new year! I will be voicing the character of Arrowette (see ridiculously hot avatar below!!! um, could I love her anymore?) as well as several supporting cast members."

Adam Lambert Dressed Up as Glammed-Up Vampire on Halloween

Adam Lambert turned into a glampire for Halloween. The runner-up of "American Idol" season 8 dressed in all-black outfit for a special Halloween party in Los Angeles on Saturday night, October 31. He, moreover, also donned vampire-like make-up. Inside the festivity, Adam posed for the camera alongside pop rock singer Ferras, who dressed up as an Arabian Prince.

In early October, Adam tweeted about what he was going to be for the day. "My favorite holiday is coming! I think i shall rock Halloween as a Glampire. What are you going to dress up as?" so he wrote on his account. He also told reporters, "I think I'm going to be a glampire. You know, a vampire who glams it up!"
