Review: The Snowman (2017)

Ever looked at something and thought where did it all go wrong? Sometimes a movie has everything going for it, a great concept, a great cast, a great crew and some stunning ideas and then it just flat out does not work. Remember Hancock and how it derailed? Or Neveldine/Taylor’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance? Well, I’m sad to report that director Tomas Alfredson’s (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Let The Right One In) adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s novel The Snowman is a real disappointment to fans of the book and newcomers alike.

From the bleak first scene to the impressive who’s who opening credits backed by Marco Beltrami’s unnerving scoring (which practically melts away into unremarkable territory after this point), this is a film that looks like it could have that lingering Scandinavian Drama/Thriller inspired chill and a real horrific thrill. Canceled Twisted Metal Movie Almost Starred Nicolas Cage

  • MovieWeb
We've still yet to see a properly awesome video game movie, but Hollywood keeps on trying. There are plenty of video game movies that never came to be that could have been awesome, but we'll sadly never know. One such movie is Twisted Metal, which was going to be based on the Sony video game series of the same name. Now, director Brian Taylor (Crank) reveals what the movie would have been, and it would have involved Nicolas Cage with Mad Max: Fury Road style action.

Brian Taylor recently spoke with Collider about his Twisted Metal movie that never was. He was hired to do the movie in 2012, which just so happens to be when Sony launched a rebooted version of the game. As is usually the case with these things, the budget got in the way and prevented Taylor from doing what he wanted to do with it. Here's what he had to say.

“That was gonna be badass… batshit.” You may remember that the Twisted Metal video game franchise was going to be turned into a feature film by Sony back in 2012, with Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance co-director Brian Taylor at the helm. Unfortunately, it ended up in development Hell. Speaking with Collider this week, Taylor […]

Why Nicolas Cage Doesn’t Like the Word ‘Acting’: ‘I Don’t Act, I Feel’

Why Nicolas Cage Doesn’t Like the Word ‘Acting’: ‘I Don’t Act, I Feel’
Nicholas Cage may be known throughout popular culture of his distinctive brand of on-screen wackiness, but for the record, he’s not so sure he’s “over-the-top.”

“You show me where the top is, and I’ll let you know whether I’m over it or not, all right?” Cage said during his interview, alongside “Mom and Dad” director Brian Taylor and fellow stars Selma Blair and Anne Winters, at the Variety Studio Presented by At&T at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I design where the top is.”

Cage called “Mom and Dad” his favorite film he’s worked on in the last decade and referred to Taylor as “my Kurosawa and I am his Mifune,” referring to the famous Japanese director-actor team of Akira Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune. Taylor previously worked with Cage on “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.”

“He let me do what I need to do and he knows how to utilize me

Ghost Rider Vs. Spawn Fan-Made Trailer Will Get Your Heart Racing
Do two bad movies somehow make for a good movie when smashed together? In this particular case, it seems like it. A new fan trailer has combined the 1997 Spawn live-action movie with the lamented Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and, somehow, it makes for a pretty cool looking movie that many of us would actually want to see.

YouTuber Stryder HD, who quite regularly cuts together trailers for cool movies that don't actually exist, brings us this insane Spawn and Ghost Rider crossover. Titled Ghost Rider v Spawn: Eternal Darkness. The trailer envisions that Spawn comes back to life, much like in the 1997 movie, but this time, he is sentenced by the Devil himself to kill Johnny Blaze. This leads to a whole lot of firey fighting goodness with a whole lot of bad CGI. Despite the rough special effects, the premise is cool and it would really seem to work.

Ghost in the Shell Super Bowl Commercial Arrives Early
'They did not save her life. They stole it.' That's the tagline that accompanies the exciting new Ghost in the Shell TV trailer that will debut on the small screen this Sunday during the big game. Yes, it's Super Bowl time. And that means exciting new footage from some of the year's biggest and best movies. The excitement starts with Scarlett Johansson appearing on the roof of a very tall building only to take a giant leap of faith.

At first glance, Scarlett's Major Motoko Kusanagi appears to be stripping down to the flesh, which is sure to get a few blurry-eyed couch quarterbacks excited after a few too many Bud Lights. But upon closer inspection, we're looking at the body of a one of a kind human-cyborg hybrid. Not another Janet Jackson slip-up.

Ghost in the Shell follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads

Ciaran Hinds portraying Steppenwolf in Justice League

According to The Wrap, Game of Thrones star Ciaran Hinds is portraying the main villain Steppenwolf in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie, and has already completed his motion capture work as the character.

Steppenwolf featured in a deleted scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was restored for the Ultimate Edition, and saw him in contact with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor on board the Kryptonian ship. Apparently his design will be overhauled for his appearance in Justice League.

In DC comic book continuity, Steppenwolf is one of the New Gods, an uncle of Darkseid, and the leader of the military of Apokolips.

Hinds does have previous comic book movie experience, having portrayed the villain Mephistopheles in 2012’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Game Of Thrones Star Ciaran Hinds Will Play Steppenwolf In Zack Snyder's Justice League

According to The Wrap, he finished shooting the motion capture role fairly recently.    5 DC Comics Villains Much Better Suited To Being Justice League's Big Bad Than Steppenwolf We caught a glimpse of Steppenwolf in a deleted scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the trade adds that his appearance will have been upgraded by the time we see him in Justice League. A villain with close ties to Darkseid, it's thought that he'll be going after three Mother Boxes in the movie. Beyond that, very little is known about the sort

It Sounds Like Ghost Rider Is Definitely Coming To Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. This Fall

Marvel Studios quietly regained the rights to Ghost Rider shortly after the dismal critical and commercial performance of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and the character has been gathering dust on a shelf ever since. Chances are that not even Kevin Feige could convince moviegoers to give the demonic superhero another chance, so what can be done with him? A Netflix series sounds good. Unfortunately, that isn't happening. According to Latino-Review, Ghost Rider is definitely coming to the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., something which has been rumoured for some time now. However, as many fans already figured out after a casting call was sent out looking for "a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair," we won't be getting the Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch version of the Spirit of Vengeance.  Instead, it's
