Donald Trump Shakes Up the Emmy Talk Show Race, As Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, and Trevor Noah Get In The Game

Donald Trump Shakes Up the Emmy Talk Show Race, As Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, and Trevor Noah Get In The Game
As host of “The Apprentice,” one thing eluded Donald Trump: an Emmy. The fact that the Television Academy never awarded him one drove Trump — whom you might know is now the President of the United States of America — completely bonkers.

Trump wanted an Emmy bad enough that he went on the Hollywood campaign trail in 2008, taking trade newspaper reporters (including, um, this one) to lunch in an attempt to curry attention and grab a win for “The Apprentice.” But that was in the middle of “The Amazing Race’s” hot streak. Ultimately the closest Trump came to Emmy glory was singing the “Green Acres” theme with Megan Mullally on stage at the 2006 ceremony.

It’s a bit ironic, then, that Trump may play a hand in which shows are nominated — and ultimately win — this year’s Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series.

Vince McMahon trouble with Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar, Survivor Series last-minute changes on Raw

The viewership figures for this week’s Halloween episode of Raw are in. And, quite fittingly, they’re terrifying.

The show did 2.59 million viewers on average, which is the second lowest number in the last 19 years according to the Wrestling Observer. The lowest number happened the previous month, when Raw only drew 2.46 million viewers against the U.S. Presidential debate.

Halloween shows never rate well, but this is another incredibly low rating in a worrying downward trend. Send the USA Network a tweet with the hashtag #MakeRAW2Hours. People power!

Dropping that third hour of Raw would definitely make the show more watchable, but that is in no way its only problem. Many have reported it’s Vince McMahon’s last-minute changes that hinder any consistent or logical storytelling – as Dave Meltzer reported with the last-minute decision to give Charlotte the Hell in a Cell win instead of Sasha Banks,

How to pitch for crowd funding

If you want to make a successful pitch video for a crowd funding campaign, ensure it has a sizzling start, exudes happiness and empathy and avoids melodramatic or overly emotional language.

Among the other prerequisites: Keep it simple, use an on-camera presenter who is passionate and demonstrates trustworthiness, and try to ensure the viewer can relate to the central themes of the video.

Those are among the conclusions from a study conducted by Jessica Milne for her thesis for the Master of Screen Arts and Business program at Aftrs. Milne presented her paper From the Heart to the Hip-Pocket at a function at Aftrs on Thursday evening.

She tested 10 pitch videos for international documentaries that each sought $US50,000 for completion funding, five from successful campaigns and five from unsuccessful campaigns.

Testing was carried out with focus groups and via a survey of 199 respondents. The study incorporated an applied neuroscience test

Super Bowl: Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers Rock Halftime Show as Seattle Seahawks Roll (Video)
Bruno Mars’ Super Bowl halftime performance was a bigger drumming than the game itself — with Mars on drums. Mars took MetLife Stadium’s 50-yard-line at the midway point of a Super Bowl Xlviii rout in favor of the Seattle Seahawks. After a children’s choir ran through the refrain to “Millionaire,” the camera cut to a skinny-tied and gold-blazered Mars, banging away on a drum kit fixated on a floating platform. It was a little early, perhaps, for a drum solo, but Mars was impressive on the skins before switching to the mic to transition into his hit “Locked Out of Heaven.

Mars’s Super Bowl Halftime Show: Stop Talking About Beyoncé, It Was Perfectly Bruno
It was a hard act for anyone to follow. Beyoncé's halftime show at last year's Super Bowl was arguably one for the ages, talked about non-stop in the following weeks and months. Mrs. Carter has been top of mind again in the past month as a result of her much-lauded surprise album and her best-of-the-night performance at last weekend's Grammys. So did Bruno Mars do his Super Bowl predecessor justice? And is it even fair to compare the two, as Twitter seemed intent to do all night?Vulture music critic Jody Rosen guessed that all-around Good Guy Bruno Mars would "meet [the Halftime show] in his usual fashion: with finesse, and without batting an eye," and that he did: Mars pulled off his highly choreographed performance without any noticeable slip-ups. Blame his polish, but there were also no surprises. He flew through the hits, "Billionaire," "Locked Out Of Heaven," "Treasure," "Runaway

Puppy Bowl vs. Kitten Bowl vs. Fish Bowl: Which was cutest?

Puppy Bowl vs. Kitten Bowl vs. Fish Bowl: Which was cutest?
Animal kingdom counter-programming ruled Super Bowl Sunday as viewers had a choice between three cable specials, each more adorable than the last: Animal Planet’s veteran Puppy Bowl, Hallmark Channel’s newcomer rival Kitten Bowl and NatGeo’s sarcastic freshman Fish Bowl (which is, yup, mainly just a fish swimming in a bowl). Here’s how they ranked:

Line-up

Puppy Bowl: The 10th annual telecast had puppies, kittens for the half-time show, penguin cheerleaders and a bird tweeting updates. — Winner

Kitten Bowl: Kittens. Lots and lots of tiny kittens; 71 of them.

Fish Bowl: More than just the fish. Other fish joined at various points.

Bruno Mars Rocks the Super Bowl Halftime Show With the Red Hot Chili Peppers
Well, Bruno Mars did say, "I ain't scared," when it came to his Super Bowl performance. And it showed as the "Locked Out of Heaven" crooner brought it at the half time show, kicking off his performance on the drums. With a few body rolls to boot, the super-talented artist killed it as he performed "Locked Out of Heaven," "Treasure" and "Runaway Baby" with his eight-piece band, The Hooligans, who were all dressed in a gold blazer and black pants created custom Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. And that wasn't all Bruno had in store. Before the show was done, the Red Hot Chili Peppers burst on the scene with him, bringing us to our feet with their famed...

Puppy Bowl Celebrates 10th Year With Fierce Fumbles, Keyboard Cat & More

Forget seahawks and broncos; the only animals that truly matter on Super Bowl Sunday are puppies!

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the first Puppy Bowl debuted on Animal Planet? Hypothetically, this year’s players would have to use both of their front paws to count that high! Sadly, they can’t count — and come to think of it, they can’t really grasp the concept of football, either. But isn’t that why we love them?

As I said, football isn’t really a thing puppies know how to do, so like most years, Puppy Bowl X is shaping up to be an adorable mess. Balls are flying in every direction, puppies are tackling each other with no regard to teams and I was loving every single minute of it.
