More ‘Transformers’ and ‘G.I. Joe’ Movies as Paramount, Hasbro Ink 5-Year Deal
Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are teaming up to produce and distribute live-action and animated films and television shows under a new five-year pact. The two companies already have a successful working history together on both the “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” movies. As previously announced, there are more Autobots vs. Decepticons flicks already in the works, and an individual with knowledge of the studio’s film development has told TheWrap in the past that we’ll be seeing more of “The Real American Heroes” in years to come too. “Paramount has been a valuable partner of Hasbro’s for more than a decade,

Paramount, Hasbro Sign Five-Year Distribution, Production Pact
Paramount Pictures and Hasbro and teaming up to make live-action and animated films based on the toymaker’s products, as well as original stories. The movies will be developed by Hasbro’s newly launched Allspark Pictures and Allspark Animation. The announcement confirms a Variety scoop from last month about the formation of the company and the appointment of Greg Mooradian, a former Fox 2000 and Paramount executive, as its head. Allspark Animation will be led by Hasbro’s Meghan McCarthy.

The deal extends and deepens a long-standing partnership. Hasbro and Paramount have teamed up on five “Transformers” movies, as well as two “G.I. Joe” films. They are working together on an upcoming Transformers spinoff, “Bumblebee,” which opens in December 2018.

Paramount and Hasbro will finance the projects together, although the two companies did not provide additional financial information in a release announcing the deal. Paramount will distribute the pics. The two companies will also collaborate on television programming

New Report Says That Gambit Will Be A Crime/Heist Film

We still can’t quite believe the Gambit solo film might actually get made. Channing Tatum was chosen for the role way back in the mid 2000s, but had to duck out of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to appear in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place), with Taylor Kitsch taking the part instead. Which was, at the time, a three-picture deal to play the character.

Well, we all know what happened there. But you can’t keep a good mutant down, with the Gambit project then spending years floating between various directors, with Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman coming very close to actually making it to production. Now, finally, it looks as if Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is to take the reins and finally, finally, get this thing out of the gates.

Just this week, it was

The G.I. Joe franchise to be rebooted with a more "millennial" approach

  • JoBlo
Although both G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation certainly made money, they never approached the level of success that the Transformers franchise has, and it seems that Hasbro is looking to wipe the slate clean and start over. Hasbro executives Simon Waters and Steve Davis chatted with The La Times about the future of their various properties, and it was mentioned that they will once again team up... Read More...

Hasbro promises “a different kind of G.I. Joe” with movie reboot

Although Paramount Pictures and Hasbro spent time developing a third instalment of the G.I. Joe movie franchise under director D.J. Caruso (which would have crossed over with Transformers), it was announced back in December 2015 that the studio was instead rebooting the franchise as part of a shared cinematic universe with fellow Hasbro properties Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. and Rom.

We’ve heard very little in the way of development since that time, but Hasbro’s Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis has been chatting to IGN about the property, confirming that it remains very much a part of their plans, and promising “a different kind of G.I. Joe” when the Real American Heroes do return to the big screen.

“The world has changed, and I think you’re going to see G.I. Joe changing with it,” said Davis. “There’s going to be a much more

G.I. Joe and Transformers Movie Crossover Will Happen, But When?

G.I. Joe and Transformers Movie Crossover Will Happen, But When?
Transformers came out nearly a decade ago and that movie was important in that, it proved toys could provide fuel for a billion dollar franchise. Paramount tried to capture that same fire in a different bottle with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra back in 2009, but it didn't quite get there. The sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which brought the "franchise Viagra" known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into the fold, fared better and there were plans for a third movie. Unfortunately, it looks like that movie isn't happening anytime soon, which is a shame because it was recently revealed that G.I. Joe 3 would have featured a crossover with the Transformers franchise.

Disturbia director D.J. Caruso was brought on to develop G.I. Joe 3 in early 2015, but movement on the project has been pretty slow. He eventually moved on and decided to direct xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, instead.

D.J. Caruso’s G.I. Joe 3 would have crossed over with Transformers

Before he was brought on to direct xXx: Return of Xander Cage, D.J. Caruso was tapped to helm a third G.I. Joe film for Paramount Pictures. While that project ultimately failed to materialise, Caruso has revealed in an interview with Collider that the third film was originally going to set up a shared universe with Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, leading to a crossover between the two franchises.

Caruso said the desire to bring them together came from the fact that it was felt that G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and its sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation didn’t really click with mainstream audiences. Their thought was that crossing the franchise over with Transformers, which has been a big box office hit despite its constant negative critical and sometimes audience reception, would draw audiences to G.I. Joe.

“Well yeah, but they [Paramount] are not ready to do G.I.

When Did Channing Tatum Start To Rock?

  • LRM Online
At some point Channing Tatum went from man-candy (what? It's been said) to movie star. His star rose when Step Up stole the hearts of romantic comedy lovers that had waited too long for a new dance film. Seemed like Save The Last Dance had been decades before, despite the fact it actually released only five years prior. But, let's take a look back at Channing's filmography and see exactly where Tatum became something more.

Lee Byung-hun Talks Knives, Westerns and Magnificent Seven | Exclusive
Byung-hun Lee may not be a household name in America, but that is sure to change. The South Korean actor, model, and singer is a megastar in Asia. He started out on Korean television in the early nineties before making the leap to the big screen. His break out role was Joint Security Area in 2000. It catapulted him to stardom and became the top grossing film in Korean history.

Lee had a string of Asian hits before Hollywood came calling. He starred alongside Josh Hartnett in the 2009 Vietnamese thriller, I Come with the Rain. That role led to his American debut as the ass-kicking ninja, Storm Shadow, in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The overall film didn't remotely meet expectations, but Byung-hun Lee was a standout. He was phenomenal as Storm Shadow. That performance put western audiences on notice that Korea's box office king was crossing over.

Lee reprised

Will Ben Affleck's The Batman Bring in Catwoman?

Will Ben Affleck's The Batman Bring in Catwoman?
We don't know a ton about who is going to appear in The Batman, the upcoming Ben Affleck directed solo Batman movie for Warner Bros. At the moment, outside of the Dark Knight himself, the movie has its main villain in Deathstroke and it is a safe bet J.K. Simmons will appear as Jim Gordon and Jeremy Irons will appear as Alfred. We may not be able to add anyone else to that list at the moment, but we can probably cross one off. Sorry, Catwoman.

A new, somewhat strange report from movie reporter Erik Davis courtesy of his personal Twitter account pretty much confirms that, at least for now, Catwoman won't be in Ben Affleck's Batman movie. The way it was revealed is where it gets a bit strange. Erik Davis posted an update to his Twitter after talking to actress Sienna Miller that stated the actress wants to play Catwoman,

Busan: Lee Byung-hun Talks Hollywood Nerves, Korea’s Criminal Reflection

Busan: Lee Byung-hun Talks Hollywood Nerves, Korea’s Criminal Reflection
One of the very few Korean actors working in Hollywood, Lee Byung-hun says his Hollywood breakthrough was a scary experience.

“The two moments that I felt the most nervous in my entire life were: when I first had reading rehearsal for ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’; and when I was at the Academy awards ceremony,” said the 45-year-old actor.

“Now I intentionally try to feel more comfortable and confident in Hollywood, telling myself that it’s not a crime not to speak fluent English.”

One of Korea’s top actors, Lee was speaking Friday at an event at the Busan Film Festival organized by the Korean Film Reporters’ Association.

Hollywood is an inspiration that pushes him to try new things. But he also takes his Hollywood adventure very personally at the same time.

“I wanted to show my late father,” Lee said. “He was a huge cinephile. He would

It was announced today that Gears of War, which is getting ready to launch the fourth video game in its franchise, will be adapted into a movie at Universal. The movie is reportedly in the early stages of pre-production and will seek to break the curse of the bad video game movie in Hollywood.

The company was doing a live stream event on YouTube in honor of Gears of War 4 being released and during the course of the stream the news was dropped. G.I. Joe 3 Delayed Due to Dwayne Johnson's Packed Schedule
You would be hard pressed to find a movie star move busy than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson these days, but he honestly may be a little too busy. His inclusion in the G.I. Joe sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation helped make that franchise a hit, but a presumed G.I. Joe 3 has been heavily delayed due to Johnson's packed schedule. At this point, it looks like it may be quite a while before we see the movie make any progress.

In a recent interview with Irm, star Byung-Hun Lee who played Storm Shadow in both of the G.I. Joe movies, revealed that the studio would like to do a sequel, but scheduling the actors has been a big issue. Specifically, working around Johnson's seemingly endless production schedule for various projects. Here is what he had to say.

"I heard from the studio that there's a possibility to do the third one,

Dwayne Johnson’s busy schedule holding up G.I. Joe 3

Perhaps being the world’s biggest and busiest movie star does come with a few problems after all, as a new report from Lrm confirms that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be the reason why Paramount has yet to take major moves forward with the third G.I. Joe installment.

Three years ago, Johnson joined the live-action G.I. Joe movie franchise, which stumbled right out of the gate with 2009’s poorly received G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, with G.I. Joe: Retaliation, a sequel that performed much better at the box office and with critics than the first offering. In fact, the film is one of many in The Rock’s catalog, along with Fast Five and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, that helped him earn the nickname of “franchise Viagra.”

Ever since, G.I. Joe 3 has been in development, with D.J. Caruso (Disturbia) filling in for Retaliation director

The Charming Potato and 'Kingsman 2' seem to be a match made in Heaven

The Charming Potato and 'Kingsman 2' seem to be a match made in Heaven
The Charming Potato is joining the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle! I remember the moment Channing Tatum clicked for me. It certainly wasn’t on first exposure. Sometimes I see an actor and immediately like what they’re doing, and when I saw A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, it was with some early hype about both the director, Dito Montiel, and this amazing new young star, Channing Tatum. Didn’t work for me at all. He was fine in the Step Up films, but that’s because the dancing was front and center. Films like Dear John or Stop-Loss did nothing to change my opinion of Tatum, and in a few cases, like G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra or The Eagle, I thought his presence actually damaged the overall movie. For me, the first sign that he might actually be worth paying attention to was The Dilemma,
