Kristen Wiig's Cameo in Mother! Is Brief but Significant

  • BuzzSugar
Darren Aronofsky's Mother! is full of crazy twists and turns, but one particularly mind-boggling moment is when Kristen Wiig comes on the scene. Since the Saturday Night Live alum is well-known for her upbeat, comedic roles, it's a bit disorienting to see her in such an intense psychological thriller, but she totally nails it. So who exactly is she in the movie? Her character plays a large part in the story - or, at least, in sharing the poet's story with the world. Warning! Plot spoilers for Mother! follow. If you aren't already aware, Mother! is not your average thriller. The film is actually a modern allegory full of Biblical references about how we should take better care of our "home," aka the environment. While Jennifer Lawrence's character serves as Mother Nature, her onscreen husband, Javier Bardem, is supposed to represent God. In the film, Barden's character, "Him,

  • PEOPLE.com
For Catherine Hooper, recovering from the death of her fiancé, Andrew Madoff has gotten harder as time has passed, not easier.

“It’s been pretty awful,” Hooper 44, tells People. “It’s not to say that you don’t find your peace with it but it has been really, really difficult. Sometimes I think it’s harder even now than it was at the first early moments. It’s the reality of what life is like without this person. You built so many dreams with them. There are moments that it’s so painful that I can’t tell him something funny that has happened.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2: What Mantis Looks Like Without Her Antennae

  • BuzzSugar
Part of what makes the Guardians of the Galaxy films so great is not only the amazing soundtracks, but also the galactic superhero films' collection of hilarious, unique characters (Baby Groot, we're looking at you). On top of the usual suspects, the sequel features a few new faces. One of the most memorable is Mantis, played by French actress Pom Klementieff. Some of the movie's best moments are between the socially awkward empath, who's introduced as a employee of Ego the Living Planet (Kurt Russell), and Dave Bautista's brutally honest Drax. Wondering where you've seen her before? The 31-year-old actress is from Quebec, where she got her start on the silver screen in a few French-language projects like 2007's Après lui and the 2009 miniseries Pigalle, la nuit. She continued appearing in French films and TV shows until 2013, when she scored the role of Haeng-Bok in the 2013 remake of Old Boy (below). Since then,
