Tomb Raider Poster Unleashed with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft

Tomb Raider Poster Unleashed with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft
Warner Bros. has released a new poster for Tomb Raider, featuring Alicia Vikander as the iconic video game character Lara Croft. The poster is a decided improvement over the first Tomb Raider poster, which several fans called out on social media, due to a poor Photoshopping job on Alicia Vikander's neck, which lead to several parody posters. This new one-sheet likely won't have the same type of response, but it will be interesting to see how fans of the video game franchise react to this movie as a whole

It was confirmed last March that this movie adaptation is based on the current Tomb Raider video game series, which was launched in 2013, focusing on a younger Lara Croft as she just starts out as an adventurer. As expected, this movie also follows a similar story with Lara searching for her long-lost father. Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer,

The Last Word on ‘Warcraft’

Well, a lot of times, ‘Warcraft‘ did make me feel like I was watching a video game. Not playing one – just watching one. One I didn’t like at all, had no interest in, and most importantly, wasn’t playing! The effects and the graphics, while often quite skilled and good, and often felt like they were reasonable images I would come across–when playing a video game. I don’t know whether that’s a compliment to the movie or the game, but either way, I don’t think it helped improve the movie much.

Trying to figure out what the hell, the rest of this…- well, my “plot notes” are a bit murky, and most of my notes consist of self-portrait doodles of me fantasizing about cutting myself, so I’m gonna try to reconnect and understand this, deformed, attempted ‘Lord of the Rings‘ clone, and piece it together in a way,

Terry Notary On Playing ‘Teen Groot’ In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Terry Notary has confirmed that he is playing teen Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Notary also appeared in this year’s Cannes Palme d’Or winning film The Square. His credits also include Kong: Skull Island, the recent Planet Of The Apes movies and Warcraft.

Speaking to Yahoo!, the actor said:

“Yes, I am playing teenage Groot. I’m having a blast with it. It’s really, really fun. I can’t say too much about him, but he’s coming of age, so you’ll see the teenager find a mentor to look up to and to model himself after. The character’s great, and the films are going to be great. We’ve got such an amazing cast and a great pair of directors at the helm. The Russos allow the actors to jam on scenes together to the

Thor: Ragnarok movie review: it’s only the end of the world

MaryAnn’s quick take… Breezy, jokey, crammed with clever sci-fi ideas; the funniest McU flick yet. Director Taika Waititi brings a new geeky verve we didn’t realize the series needed. I’m “biast” (pro): love the cast, love the McU

I’m “biast” (con): nothing

(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)

Thor can go to hell.

No, I mean, literally: Thor is capable of going to hell, just for a visit, which is where he is at the opening of Ragnarok. Okay, okay, I know, I know, it’s not really hell, not Hell. I know it’s Muspelheim, the extradimensional realm of fire, please don’t write in to complain. But it’s pretty hellish, and Thor is there to confront the fire demon Surtur, who is fairly satanic: extremely large and scary, aflame, and determined to slay the gods of Asgard and

Groot Will Come Of Age In Avengers: Infinity War

Guardians Of The Galaxy made Groot – the Flora Colossus from Planet X – an instant icon, thanks to excellent motion capture work and the vocal stylings of Vin Diesel. The events of that movie led to something of a change for the character in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2., though – with him having been, essentially, re-grown from a cutting. As a result, Groot was seen as a child in both size and intellectual capacity. In the post-credits sequence, however, we caught a fleeting glimpse of teenage Groot, sulking about being lectured on room tidiness – and it’s this size in which he’ll appear in Avengers: Infinity War.

Teenage Groot is being portrayed by Terry Notary in the film – a renowned ‘mo-cap’ performer who’s previously starred as Rocket in the Planet Of The Apes franchise, Peon in Warcraft: The Beginning, and Kong in Kong: Skull Island. He recently spoke to Yahoo!

Casting the ‘It’ Sequel: Thn’s Dream Cast List

‘It’ Sequel Dream Cast

It, directed by Andy Muschietti, is currently storming cinemas all over the world, smashing horror box office records as it goes. The film is a cinematic re-telling of the classic Stephen King novel, and is wowing critics and audiences alike. We absolutely loved It, Muschietti somehow managed to create a Goonies meets Stand by Me vibe despite its horror backdrop. The story has been transplanted from the 50’s to the 80’s and followed The Loser’s Club as they battle Pennywise the Dancing Clown as children.

Those familiar with King’s source material, or the 1990 television mini-series, know that the Loser Club’s efforts aren’t as successful as they would have hoped, and they come face-to-face with Pennywise again as adults. Now, the first film ends with the text ‘Chapter One’, and we know a sequel is already in the works. Chapter Two will of

Lara Croft Is Ready for Action in Latest Look at Tomb Raider
We're at a point where getting excited about a video game movie is pretty hard to do. Just last year, both Assassin's Creed and Warcraft, two movies that were poised to finally break the curse of bad video game to movie adaptations, disappointed in pretty epic fashion. Still, Hollywood is going to try and get this right until they get it right. Tomb Raider is one of the next movies that will try and do just that and we now have a new look at Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft from the upcoming adaptation.

The new photo of Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider reboot was released by Empire and is pretty fierce. We see Alicia Vikander looking like she was ripped right from the latest series of Tomb Raider video games and put on the screen. She looks pretty roughed up, but is rocking a bow and arrow,

Hand-Painted Animated Film ‘Loving Vincent’ Added to 2017 View Conference Lineup
A talk about creating “Loving Vincent,” the hand-painted animated film about the life and mysterious death of artist Vincent Van Gogh has been added to the lineup for the 2017 edition of the View Conference in Turin, Italy.

Investor Steve Muench and “Loving Vincent” painters/animators Biserka Petrovic and Adam Maciejewski will discuss how a team of 120 oil painters came together to re-create Van Gogh’s paintings to create the 90-minute film, written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman.

More than 100 of Van Gogh’s paintings were re-imagined for “Loving Vincent,” which was the Audience Prize winner at June’s Annecy animation film festival.

The film stars Douglas Booth, Robert Gulaczyk, Chris O’Dowd and Saoirse Ronan, whose live-action performances have been painted over in oil in the style of the troubled artist.

Loving Vincent” opens in the U.S. next month in New York and Los Angeles, and later in the year in various other

Legendary Entertainment Eyes Attorney Josh Grode as CEO

Legendary Entertainment Eyes Attorney Josh Grode as CEO
Josh Grode, an attorney at Irell & Manella, is being courted to take over as CEO of Legendary Entertainment, Variety has confirmed. He has represented the studio behind “Kong: Skull Island” and “Pacific Rim.”

If Grode accepts an offer, he will replace Thomas Tull, who left the company earlier this year. Tull founded Legendary and transformed it from a film financier into a company that developed its own projects. But results were mixed. Legendary scored with “Kong: Skull Island” and “Godzilla,” but lost money on the likes of “Crimson Peak” and “Warcraft.” Tull orchestrated Legendary’s 2016 sale to Dalian Wanda for $3.5 billion, and was later ousted by the Chinese conglomerate. Grode worked on that sale.

“Josh has been and continues to be a legal advisor to Wanda and Legendary and will continue to render services to them and other clients,” a spokesperson for Legendary told Variety.

Grode is the co-chair of Irell & Manella’s transactions practice. He
