CBS TV Shows: 2017-18 Viewer Votes

Every year, the CBS television network introduces new TV series, which are either cancelled or renewed by the season's end. Likewise, among existing shows, there are strong performers while others end up as the television vulture's TV dinner du jour. Although everyone understands the Nielsen ratings usually play a big role in TV cancellations and renewals, most fans do not get to participate in that system. Since so many viewers' opinions do not factor into the Tiffany Network's programming decisions, we are offering you the chance to submit your own CBS TV show ratings to us, instead. You can vote on the following CBS TV series that have premiered (so far) during the 2017-17 television season: 9Jkl, The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, Bull, Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-0, Kevin Can Wait, Life In Pieces, MacGyver, Madam Secretary, Man with a Plan, The Mayor, Me Myself & I, Mom,

David Boreanaz, Primetime’s Most Valuable Player, Has Another Hit With ‘Seal Team’ — Ratings Watch

David Boreanaz, Primetime’s Most Valuable Player, Has Another Hit With ‘Seal Team’ — Ratings Watch
David Boreanaz is once again proving his primetime power. Fresh off a 12-season run on the Fox staple “Bones,” Boreanaz didn’t miss a beat: His new CBS drama, “Seal Team,” has already been given a full 22-episode first season order, and is shoo-in for a sophomore renewal.

Not many performers can brag about starring in back-to-back-to-back hits, which makes Boreanaz a TV heavy hitter on par with stars like Ted Danson and William Shatner — the rare actors who have enjoyed multiple hits on unrelated shows. Boreanaz, of course, top-lined the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff “Angel” for several years (and 110 episodes) before moving on to 246 episodes of “Bones.”

Seal Team” stars Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of the Tier One team, a group deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice. The show has been consistently making the top 25 ratings among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris: ‘People Are Feeling Empowered’

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris: ‘People Are Feeling Empowered’
SAG-aftra’s leaders believe the entertainment industry’s sexual harassment scandal is having a profound impact on the union’s 160,000 members.

“People are feeling empowered to speak out and there has been a significant increase in the number of people doing so,” said Gabrielle Carteris in an interview with Variety on the eve of Wednesday’s SAG Awards nominations announcement. The number of reports of sexual harassment that come into SAG-aftra now average at least five a day — far above the level prior to the Oct. 5 bombshell revelations about disgraced executive Harvey Weinstein. Carteris and National Executive Director David White asserted that the surge in reporting reflects a cultural sea change on the entire issue.

“The calls that we are getting are coming in from across the entire spectrum,” White said. “We are aware that the simple act of naming the problem, along with having new tools to protect oneself, definitely helps to empower our members.

Empire rebounded ever so slightly on Wednesday night, winning primetime for Fox.

46 TV Shows That Have Been Straight Up Canceled in 2017

Can you feel the tension in the air? Networks have been announcing decisions about which shows will return in 2018 and which will . . . not. While there are a number of shows that are ending in 2017, many of them at least got a final season to finish out their stories. (New Girl and Portlandia aren't on this list, as they have been granted final seasons and will end in 2018.) Ahead are all of the shows we were forced to say goodbye to this year. ABC The Real O'Neals: After two seasons, the show is over. Dr. Ken: Ken Jeong's medical comedy is history. Imaginary Mary: Viewers didn't tune in for Jenna Elfman's show, and now they never will. American Crime: Though critically acclaimed, the anthology drama is through. Secrets and Lies: After a solid first season, rating dipped in season two and ABC has canceled the drama.

'Westworld' Shuts Down Production Due to Massive California Wildfires, Cast Members React

'Westworld' Shuts Down Production Due to Massive California Wildfires, Cast Members React
The fast-moving Southern California wildfires on Tuesday have affected filming on HBO's Westworld, Et has learned.

The show is currently in production on season two, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2018. In a statement on Tuesday, a rep for HBO confirmed the shutdown.

“Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it’s safe to do so," the statement reads.

Thousands of Southern Californians fled their homes Tuesday as a massive brush fire spread through parts of Ventura County. The fires have been largely fueled by strong Santa Ana winds, which are expected to last until Thursday. CNN reports that the fire had grown to 50,000 acres by Tuesday afternoon.

Actor Jeffrey Wright tweeted about the fires on Tuesday.

"Got an unexpected and unfortunate day off owing to the #CreekFire & #RyeFire," he wrote. "Be safe, folks."

Evan Rachel Wood also Instagrammed about the smoky conditions in Santa Clarita, California, where
