Check Out This Super Troopers 2 Teaser Trailer Right Meow!

Fans of Broken Lizard can now mark their calendars as the comedy troupe’s next big screen adventure, Super Troopers 2, is set to be released April 20, 2018. The guys haven’t been seen together in a film since 2009’s The Slammin’ Salmon, in which the usual crew played waiters and chefs. The Original Super Troopers was released 15 years ago and became a cult classic with the ridiculous antics of some not so law-abiding law enforcement officers.

A minute-long teaser for Super Troopers 2 was released today, and from the looks of it, fans are in store for more of what made the first movie great. We see what looks to be some more shenanigans from the guys, as Rabbit, the rookie from the first film who was endlessly hazed, is tied down to a table and the rest of the guys seem to be dead set on helping him out with some manscaping.

First Teaser for ‘Super Troopers 2’ Finds Broken Lizard Jumping Back into Uniform

It’s been 16 years since Super Troopers underperformed at the box office only to blossom into a bonafide cult classic, and now comedy troupe Broken Lizard are back with Super Troopers 2. The troupe have produced several other films since Super Troopers, including Club Dread and Beer League, but none entered the zeitgeist the way Troopers did.

Of course, a long delayed sequel to a well-loved comedy doesn’t always turn out for the best. Remember Dumb and Dumber To? If you do, I’m sorry. Hopefully Super Troopers 2 will manage to recapture the stoner comedy magic that endeared the first film to so many.

Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske all return, along with Brian Cox, and new members to the cast include Lynda Carter and Rob Lowe. Super Troopers 2 opens 4/20/2018, because of course it does. You can watch

‘Super Troopers 2’ Starts Filming with Broken Lizard Cast Back in Action
In 2001, the Broken Lizard comedy troupe wrote and starred in the comedy “Super Troopers” about five goofball Vermont state troopers who are forced to save their jobs by actually solving a crime instead of pulling pranks all day. The film was a moderate box office success and was a hit on home video, and in the past 15 years, it has become a cult classic. Now, the long-awaited sequel has started filming, confirmed by the Broken Lizard Facebook page with the cheeky comment: “Action, chickenf**kers: back on set and we just the first new scene of #SuperTroopers2.” Check out the photo below.

‘Super Troopers 2’ Launches Production
The Broken Lizard comedy troupe has begun production “Super Troopers 2,” six months after raising $4.4 million in a crowdfunding campaign for the sequel.

The campaign had been the second-most successful crowdfunding campaign for a movie. It was funded through Indiegogo with over 50,000 contributors and raised 77% of the $5.7 million record for crowdfunding for a film, set by the “Veronica Mars” movie on Kickstarter in 2013.

Perks offered as incentives that were sold on the first day included a producer title for $10,000, a speaking actor role for $10,000, a trip to the ballpark with the main actors for $15,000 and the patrol car to be used in the filming for $35,000.

Super Troopers 2” met the initial goal of $2 million in 26 hours. Fox Searchlight agreed to release the sequel if the $2 million goal was met.

Teen Wolf Recap: If Books Could Kill
Because all roads on Teen Wolf lead back to Eichen House, Scott’s pack on Monday booked a round-trip flight to the cuckoo’s nest, where a familiar face — one with a not-so-blind third eye — eagerly awaited their arrival.

‘Super Troopers 2′ Gets Funded

Last month the team behind Super Troopers took to fundraising site Indie Gogo in order to raise money to make Super Troopers 2 happen. The Broken Lizard troupe needed $2 million to make the sequel, and that amount was funded in the blink of an eye. The final total was a whopping amount, over double what the film actually needed. However it’s not over yet.

Perks continue to be sold over at the Super Troopers 2 Indie Gogo page, and if $5 million can be raised, then Brian Cox has promised to return as Captain O’Hagan (see the video below). Of course, the whole Broken Lizard gang are back, with Jay Chandrasekhar, Steve Lemme, Kevin Heffernan, Erik Stolhanske, and Paul Soter.

Super Troopers is one of my all-time favourite comedies, and I can remember being surprised and enthralled on my first visit to see it at the cinema. I’m

Super Troopers 2 Fundraiser Made $4.4 Million

Super Troopers 2 Fundraiser Made $4.4 Million
Broken Lizard, the cult comedy troupe responsible for Club Dread and Beerfest, will be making a sequel to their beloved Super Troopers. Variety reports that Broken Lizard’s Indiegogo campaign not only surpassed its $2 million goal, it earned a whopping $4.4 million, usurping Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here as the second-most successful crowdsourced film campaign ever, behind Veronica Mars, which made $5.7 million. Desperation may be a stinky cologne, but crowdsourcing is totally legit. As an incentive for donations, the troupe released its first film, Tin Foil Monkey Agenda, exclusively to contributors. The original Super Troopers, made for a miniscule $1.2 million in 2001, earned $23 million at the box office. It depicts the misadventures of a handful of inept (but utterly lovable) Vermont state troopers, who spend their time filling lockers with shaving cream and eating maple syrup. The original five dopey Vermont state troopers — Jay Chandrasekhar,

‘Super Troopers 2′ Raises $4.4 Million Total in Fundraising Campaign

‘Super Troopers 2′ Raises $4.4 Million Total in Fundraising Campaign
The Broken Lizard comedy troupe has waged the second most successful crowdfunding campaign for a movie, taking in $4.4 million in 30 days to raise production funds for “Super Troopers 2.”

The Indiegogo campaign, funded by over 50,000 contributors, ended at midnight Friday with 77% of the $5.7 million record for crowdfunding for a film, set in by the “Veronica Mars” movie on Kickstarter in 2013. It raised 42% more than the $3.1 million for Zach Braff’s “Wish I Was Here,” which had been the second-largest crowdfunding effort until earlier this month when the Alan Tudyk-Nathan Fillion project “Con Man” raised $3.16 million.

The “Super Troopers” met the initial goal of $2 million in 26 hours, assuring that the sequel will go into production this summer, 14 years after the original “Super Troopers” was released. Fox Searchlight had agreed to release the sequel if the $2 million goal was met.

‘Super Troopers 2′ Passes $2 Million Crowdfunding Goal
The Broken Lizard comedy troupe has surged past its $2 million crowdfunding campaign goal to raise production funds for “Super Troopers 2” in only two days.

As of 5 p.m. Pdt, the Indiegogo campaign had taken in $2.14 million — thus assuring that the sequel will go into production this summer, 14 years after the original “Super Troopers” was released. The troupe said that Fox Searchlight had agreed to release the sequel if the $2 million goal was met.

The 30-day campaign could eclipse the $5.7 million record for crowdfunding for a film, set by the “Veronica Mars” movie on Kickstarter.

Super Troopers 2″ reunites all five Troopers from the original film — Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. The quintet play goofy Vermont state troopers with a penchant for pranks.

Super Troopers 2 could shoot this summer – but it needs your assistance

The time is meow! Super Troopers 2 could finally become a reality thanks to an IndieGoGo campaign which launched a few hours ago. The Broken Lizard crew are looking for at least $2 million, but would prefer more. According to the team, if they don’t reach the $2 million mark, then Super Troopers 2 won’t get made.

“We’ve been waiting for years to do this, and meow the time has come,” they write on their IndieGoGo page. “Our mustaches are thick, furry, and authoritative. The script is written and we’re getting all antsy in our pantsy to start shooting. There’s just one problem: While the studio has given us permission to make the sequel, and agreed to distribute it (at least in the USA and Canada), we need to fund the movie ourselves.”

“We’ve got some big stuff in the script, and if we’re able to raise enough money,

Broken Lizard Launches ‘Super Troopers 2′ Crowdfunding Campaign
The Broken Lizard comedy troupe have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise production funds for “Super Troopers 2,” 14 years after the original “Super Troopers” was released.

Super Troopers 2″ re-unites all five Troopers from the original film — Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske. The quintet played goofy Vermont state troopers with a penchant for pranks who were suddenly forced to solve a murder and bust a drug-smuggling ring. Brian Cox played their commander.

“We finally have the chance to make ‘Super Troopers 2,'” said Chandrasekhar. “But since we refused to write a sequel where the highway cops have morphed into super hero-vampires, Fox Searchlight proposed the following deal: They’ll release the film, but we have to raise all of the money. So we’ve turned to Indiegogo and our fans to prove that it’s finally time for ‘Super Troopers 2′ to get made.

Broken Lizard tease Super Troopers 2

A disgusting fact to realise is that it’s been 13 years since Super Troopers was released in cinemas, where it wouldn’t find much success until its home video release. Since it rose to popularity in cult form, rumours of a sequel had always been on the cards. But, nothing ever came to fruition.

However, with comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To topping the Us box office this weekend, it has sparked some hope from Broken Lizard, the comedy trope behind Super Troopers, for a sequel to come to fruition. As posted on Twitter:

Congrats, Farrellys on big weekend for Dumb&DumberTo. Hopefully bodes well for moving #SuperTroopers2 along.

‘Thrill Ride’ Brings A Comedy Slasher To Fox

20th Century Fox have just picked up a comedy slasher with the title Thrill Ride after a pitch from Brendan O’Brien and Andrew Jay Cohen, the writers behind Neighbors (Bad Neighbours here in the UK). The pair will also make this their directorial debut with the horror comedy, but won’t be supplying the script themselves. That job goes to Peter Warren.

The film will see a senior high school class visit an amusement park at the end of a semester, only for people to end up dead. As well as directing, O’Brien and Cohen will produce along with Chernin Entertainment. This won’t be the first time Fox has produced a comedy slasher, as they had a hand in Broken Lizard’s extremely underrated Club Dread back in 2004. Fox will certainly be hoping for some better returns this time around though, as Club Dread only managed $5,000,000 domestically.

‘Super Troopers 2′ To Be Funded By You

Crowd funding is a big deal these days, sometimes with entire films being funded through sites such as Kickstarter. When not completely funding films, it can also help push the budget towards an acceptable amount, which may very well be the case for the long awaited Super Troopers 2. The Broken Lizard comedic classic hit cinemas way back in 2001, and despite a string of fantastic comedies such as Club Dread, Beerfest and The Slammin’ Salmon, Broken Lizard have always hinted at a return to their most famous cult classic.

Speaking to Us Weekly, one of the members of Broken Lizard, Steve Lemme, spoke about the plans to crowd fund the remainder of the $27 million budget.

The fans have been asking for it for a while, but we were finally able to package everything together. Fox is going to distribute the film, but we needed to raise the money for it,
