HBO Teases Harry Potter: The Entire Adventure With New Trailer

Take heed, Potterheads: For the very first time, all eight Harry Potter films will be available to stream on the same platform (HBO), starting in January.

That’s right, the house of Westworld and Game of Thrones is kicking off the new year with the definitive Potter movie marathon, spanning Sorcerer’s Stone to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

It all begins with the former on January 2nd, with a new instalment set to air each day at 8 pm Et/Pt right up until the advent of Fantastic Beasts on Wednesday, January 10th, which is rather fitting given how 2018 will also herald David Yates’ magical sequel – one which primarily takes place in the city of Paris, from what we understand.

All nine movies will also be available to stream instantaneously via HBO On Demand, HBO Now and HBO Go, so there’s perhaps no better time to sign

Why All Dancers Must Experience the Choreography of Wayne McGregor

If you’ve seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Legend of Tarzan, or Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, you have seen an aspect of Wayne McGregor’s choreography, though you may not have recognized it as such. He was the Movement Director for those films, and it is the broad scope of that role which hints at the great facility which McGregor possesses. Movement Directors must propose the physical language which helps actors and their directors to express such things as the condition of the character, gestures unique to ethnicities, falling dexterity, or period dancing, to name

Harry Potter and Voldemort Were Connected in a Way You Won't Believe

Image Source: Everett Collection Harry Potter fans are no strangers to phoenixes, the type of bird we know Dumbledore's beloved Fawkes to be. But the symbolism behind the phoenix, particularly as it relates to Voldemort and Harry Potter's wands and their connection to one another, will completely shock you. Ever heard the phrase "rise like a phoenix"? It's a useful metaphor for describing someone who comes back from a difficulty stronger than before, much like the phoenix in Greek mythology who lived for centuries, consumed itself in fire as it weakened, then was reborn from the ashes. RelatedThis Theory About Neville Longbottom's Wand Explains Everything About Him And as we know, Fawkes himself rises from the ashes and is reborn in the Harry Potter series. Fawkes also gave just two of his valuable feathers to be used as the core of a wizard's wand. One feather went into what would

The Original Harry Potter Synopsis J.K. Rowling Sent to Publishers Will Make You Sob

All of the publishers that turned down J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter pitches back in the day are probably still kicking themselves 20 years later. The struggling author suffered rejection after rejection (12 publishing houses passed before Bloomsbury accepted, to be exact), but she never gave up on bringing the boy wizard we know and love to life. RelatedYou Should Sit Down Before Looking at the Harry Potter Studio Tour's Halloween Decor The world is forever changed as a result of the Harry Potter series, but it all started with one synopsis that described what the novels would be about. The original summary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone that Rowling sent to publishers is now on display at the British Library in London as a part of the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibition. This Will Make You See Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in a Whole New Way

Image Source: Everett Collection Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, aka Harry Potter and That Time He Got Pissed a Lot, is known for its oftentimes frustrating portrayal of the young wizard. As he tried to come to terms with his notoriety, his friendships and relationships, and the worst villain of all time (talking about Dolores Umbridge, of course), it's understandable that Harry's 15-year-old teen angst could be a bit much. However, one recent analysis on Reddit argues that Harry Potter's true leap into adulthood, and the growing pains that accompany that shift, actually were most notably portrayed in the series' fourth installment, Goblet of Fire. RelatedThis Theory About What Really Happened to Dumbledore's Sister Will Make Your Head Spin In fact, a theory goes as far as to say that Harry's Triwizard Tournament opponents each represent a significant phase of his teenage years - and our teenage years in general.

The Heartbreaking Detail From Goblet of Fire That We Never Noticed Before

Image Source: Everett Collection Rewatching the Harry Potter films over and over and over again is one of my favorite pastimes, and I never fail to notice something new each time. Sometimes it's silly - like that dirty joke in Order of the Phoenix - but sometimes it's just really, really sad. Fair warning: this is the latter. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, after the Death Eaters attack the Quidditch World Cup campsite, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley find themselves targeted by Ministry of Magic wizards who think they are involved due to being at the "scene of the crime" below the Dark Mark. As spells are cast in their direction, Arthur Weasley yells, "Stop! That's my son!" Now, flash forward to a pivotal and gut-wrenching scene toward the end of the film. When Harry returns to Hogwarts using the Triwizard Cup portkey, he brings

Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire Behind The Scenes Photos

It’s not too often that you simply get to look at behind the scenes pictures of a movie, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire pics are some of the most coveted along with the other films in the franchise since the idea of seeing behind the movie magic is kind of similar to saying you want to know how everything is done. The movie magic that makes things happen is supposed to be kept as hush hush as possible, though every now and then it’s nice to take a peek behind the curtain and see what the wizards

Top Ten Movie Franchises Based on Books

  • Cinelinx
For as long as there have been movies, there have been movies based on books. This is a look at the best movie franchises that are either based on a book or several books.

It’s one thing to have a movie that is based on a book. It happens all the time. It’s more rare to have an entire franchise of films based on a book or set of books. Over the last two decades, it seems like we have been seeing more and more franchises emerge that are based on books. This seems to be happening for a few reasons. First, Hollywood is more than ever looking for established properties on which to base films. Book, have been and always will be one of the best established properties for a movie to be based upon. Second, if the books have a big following, chances are that the

Author: Zehra Phelan

As filming wraps on the Lily James-led Guernsey (aka The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society), two official images from the project have been released of the 1940’s based British production with James leading the charge as journalist Juliet Ashton.

The British production of Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows’ best-selling novel, carries one of the oddest titles of recent times, and has Four Weddings and a Funeral and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s Mike Newell at the helm of the Don Roos (Marley & Me, The Opposite of Sex) adapted screenplay.

Set in 1946 Lily James plays free-spirited journalist Juliet Ashton, who forms a life-changing bond with the delightful and eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the occupation of Guernsey during WWII. Juliet
