Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski

Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski
The long-gestating Gambit movie has just hit another huge snag. Director Gore Verbinski, best known for his work on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, has exited the project. Not much is known about the details of his departure at this time, but "scheduling issues" were cited and it's said to be amicable. Even if that's true, and considering how close this movie is to production, this represents a major problem for Fox, while nobody has said this is happening yet, it's possible the movie could be delayed, depending on how this all shakes out.

Channing Tatum, who has been attached to star in Gambit for several years and has been producing it as a passion project, is still on board. Now it's just a matter of finding a new director. The fact that this is the third director to exit the X-Men spin-off is a bit troubling at this point.

Fans Petition to Remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8

Fans Petition to Remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8
Fans are calling to remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8. With the first trailer recently released, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the female-led Ocean's movie, which takes place in the same universe as Ocean's Eleven. Damon is set to reprise his role from the Ocean's movies, in order to provide a bit of connective tissue. However, given some recent comments he made about sexual harassment in Hollywood, a petition has been started online calling for the producers to remove him from the movie. Here's how the beginning of the petition reads.

"The all-female reboot of Ocean's 8 was supposed to be an empowering film for women. The movie spotlight the talents of its tremendous female cast and showcase the savvy and prowess of its characters. But that was before allegations that Matt Damon, who has a well-publicized cameo in Oceans 8, not only ignored but enabled his friend Harvey Weinstein

Why 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Was the Capstone 2017 Needed

Why 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Was the Capstone 2017 Needed
Few things can make people stop talking about Star Wars: The Last Jedi long enough to watch a new trailer, but the much-anticipated Oceans 8 is one of them.Tuesday's first trailer for the all-female Ocean's Eleven spinoff has inspired a lot of response, so let's get right to them.

Ashley Lee: This Ocean's 8 trailer is a perfect way to close out 2017, which began with the Women's March and has been full of major female-centric milestones. It's also a very good early Christmas present, because it's definitely everything I've ever wanted in a trailer — Rihanna as a...

Watch: First 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Introduces the New Faces of the 'Ocean's 11' Franchise

  • Movies.com
We've seen three movies led by George Clooney's Danny Ocean. Now it's time for his sister, Debbie (Sandra Bullock), to take over in a female-focused spin-off of Ocean's Eleven and its male-dominated sequels. The first trailer for Ocean's 8 introduces us to the new pack of criminals, glamorously played by the likes of Cate Blanchett and Rihanna, who team up to pull off a heist during New York City's Met Gala.  This could be the start of a whole new series (there's room for a Ocean's 9 and Ocean's 10), or it may turn out to be just a fancy offshoot gimmick without good reason for being. That amazing cast, though, including Anne Hathaway as a wealthy socialite, couldn't possibly have been brought together for nothing...

The Ocean's 8 Trailer Seems to Confirm That George Clooney's Danny Ocean Is Dead

The cast for Ocean's 8 is chock-full of A-listers - Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and more - but there's one actor who is noticeably absent from the all-star lineup: George Clooney. Although the Suburbicon director originated the role of heist mastermind Danny Ocean in the initial trilogy - Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen - it appears that the character has been killed off in the new spinoff judging from one particular scene in its thrilling trailer. The film follows Danny's sister, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), as she devises a plan to pull off a jewelry heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala after being released from prison. With the help of her eclectic all-female crew, Debbie schemes to rob one celebrity (Hathaway) of her jaw-dropping $100-million necklace at some point throughout the event. Squeezed between clips of

The Heist is On in the First Trailer for Ocean's 8

  • Cinelinx
The all female-led Ocean's movie finally has its first trailer and it looks like we're in for one heck of a heist movie!

What made Ocean's Eleven the memorable movie it was had to with the awesome ensemble cast they had, along with the twists and turns few saw coming.  The new reboot, featuring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter, looks like it'll have that same type of fun chemistry and twists that the prequels had, just with 3 less people.

While Ocean's 8 looks fun, the trailer is a bit of a head-scratcher.  For instance, the team of thieves is 7, not 8 and they're stealing from Anne Hathaway?  Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is playing Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney's character Danny Ocean, and there is a distinct point where she is sitting in front of his grave plaque with

The Full Trailer For Ocean's 8 Has Been Released and it Looks Like a Ton of Fun!

After watching this first full trailer for director Gary Ross and producer Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's 8... I'm in! The movie looks like it's going to be a blast. I'm a sucker for heist films and I'm a huge fan of the original Ocean's 11 trilogy that Soderbergh directed. This new film, which is set in the same universe, looks like it will be just as fun.

The story follows Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), the sister of Danny, as she attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. To be able to pull this off she assembles the perfect crew, which consists of Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose (Helena Bonham Carter); and Tammy (Sarah Paulson). Their target is Daphne Kluger, who is played by Anne Hathaway.

Matt Damon will have a cameo as

The fantastic ensemble of women who pull off a heist in New York includes: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, and Awkwafina. There's many other potential cameos in this, as the heist takes place during the fancy Met Gala. Honestly, this looks fun and it might be the perfect continuation of the Ocean's series. Why Is Channing Tatum's Gambit Budget So Insanely High?

Why Is Channing Tatum's Gambit Budget So Insanely High?
It looks like Gambit is going to be a potentially very expensive movie. Despite some uncertainty, now that Disney is officially purchasing most of 21st Century Fox, it looks like Channing Tatum's long-gestating X-Men spin-off is still going into production this March and won't be tabled as a result of the Disney merger. One of the last superhero movies being made before Fox folds into the Mouse House is possibly going to be one of the more expensive ones the studio has made, if some newly revealed budget details are to be believed.

According to a new report, it looks like Gambit may cost $155 million to make. The shoot is said to last for 10 weeks in New Orleans and will start this March. $155 million is incredibly expensive, especially for a character that hasn't yet proved to have appeal for wider audiences. Though, Gambit has been a fan-favorite character to

Ocean's Eight Poster Lines Up an Epic Cast of Thieves

Ocean's Eight Poster Lines Up an Epic Cast of Thieves
The first poster for Ocean's Eight is here. It's hard to think of a better heist movie than Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven, which spawned two sequels and made a boatload of money at the box office. Warner Bros. is looking to keep the franchise going with the female-driven Ocean's Eight. Now, the studio has unveiled the first poster for the movie, which leans into the stacked, all-female cast, led by Sandra Bullock.

While we haven't seen any footage from Ocean's Eight just yet, this poster offers a rather reassuring first look. The poster is very sleek and features a whole lot of red. Sprinkled in with that red is the eight, core female stars of the movie, who are led by Sandra Bullock, who serves as the connective tissue to the other Ocean's movies, as the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney). In a recent interview with EW, Bullock

New Deadpool 2 Poster Arrives as Wade Wilson Gets Banned from Disneyland

New Deadpool 2 Poster Arrives as Wade Wilson Gets Banned from Disneyland
As Ryan Reynolds is often known to do, he shared two unique Deadpool 2 images on social media today. The first is a banner for the highly-anticipated sequel, and the second is his reaction to the Disney-Fox merger. The poster is done in the style of Michelangelo's classic 16th Century painting "The Creation of Adam," which depicts God reaching out to touch the first man, Adam. Thankfully, the Merc With the Mouth wasn't entirely faithful to that painting, since he kept his maroon costume on instead of going nude, like Adam, and instead of reaching out to touch God, he's literally sticking his finger in the barrel of a gun wielded by Cable (Josh Brolin). Here's what the actor had to say about this new artwork, in his traditionally punny way.

"Some might call this creation a masterpiece, but to me it's just well hung art to be shared with the world.

Sandra Bullock Unites Her Thieves in New Look at Ocean's Eight

Sandra Bullock Unites Her Thieves in New Look at Ocean's Eight
It's been almost a full year since Warner Bros. released the first Ocean's Eight photo, featuring Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean and her team of thieves riding a New York City subway. Today we have the second official photo with Sandra Bullock alongside her seven partners in crime, played by Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Rhianna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Awkwafina. This all-female heist thriller is following in the footsteps of last year's Ghostbusters, whose all-female cast was often the subject of online vitriol. When asked if this cast has gone through the same type of thing on this movie, Sandra Bullock had this to say.

"They did put (the Ghostbusters cast) through hell. And I'm still trying to figure out why. Forget what the final product was! There were four or five of the most talented comediennes in that film. Everyone should've just taken a breath and said,

Channing Tatum's Gambit Delays Shooting Until March 2018

Channing Tatum's Gambit Delays Shooting Until March 2018
The long-awaited Gambit movie has hit a slight snag. Channing Tatum has been trying to get this movie off the ground for a long time and, lately, the production has been picking up steam. Recently, it was reported that the movie was set to begin filming in February. However, it's now said that Gambit has bumped back filming slightly, with the production now set to begin March 2018.

So, what does this mean? Odds are, things just had to get shuffled around a bit for less-than-serious reasons. If Gambit begins filming in March, that still leaves Channing Tatum and the production team plenty of time to get the movie finished in order to make the February 14, 2019, release date. So there's no need to move around your 2019 Valentine's Day plans just yet. The production is still set to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, with stage work expected to be conducted at Big Easy Studios.

However, the pieces of the puzzle have recently started falling into place and we now know that Gambit will begin filming early next year.

X-Men Spin-off Gambit Gets Lizzy Caplan as the Female Lead
Channing Tatum's long-gestating Gambit movie continues to pick up steam. After seemingly being pulled from Fox's plans for the future of the X-Men universe entirely, Gambit has been putting the pieces of the puzzle in place and now it's just taken another major step forward. According to a new report, Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan has been tapped to play the female lead in Gambit, alongside Channing Tatum, who pretty much willed this movie into existence a few years ago.

Lizzy Caplan hasn't signed on the dotted line yet, but she's in talks to star in Gambit and, unless something crazy happens, it sounds like she's got the part. As for who she's playing? No official details on her role have yet been revealed, but X-Men fans will note Remy LeBeau's long-standing relationship with Rogue.
