Michael Davis: Milestone is Dead 2: Long Live Milestone

  • Comicmix
This article processes some hard truths many won’t like.

The first part of this narrative, Milestone Is Dead, got a lot of people talking.

Nothing and I mean nothing in that article was new. I’ve written about what and why I thought the holdup at Milestone was many times. The only thing that was new was the title.

Every move Milestone has made I’ve predicted beforehand, and done so in writing.

But as always put a new spin on an old point, and people see something bright and shiny and want to play with it.

Now people are paying attention.

Paying attention to see whether or not I’m going to throw more shade at my former partners. I didn’t throw any in the first place. I told the truth Milestone 2.0 formed almost seven years ago, and there are no books.

Milestone is dead for four reasons.

Heath Ledger's Sister Says His Role as the Joker Didn't Contribute to His Death
Heath Ledger won a posthumous Academy Award for his haunting portrayal of the Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight, but there have been long-standing rumors that the role continued to have a very serious effect on the actor even after the cameras stopped rolling. Heath's sister, Kate, decided to finally put an end to that talk when she attended the premiere of the documentary I Am Heath Ledger in New York City on Monday. "I was really shocked, because that was him having fun," she told The Daily Telegraph. "Every report was coming out that he was depressed and that [the role] was taking this toll on him, and we're going, honestly, it was the absolute opposite. It couldn't be more wrong." Anthony Hopkins Calls ‘Transformers’ Director Michael Bay ‘A Genius’
Anthony Hopkins is one of the most iconic actors of his generation, and he has some strong opinions about the brilliance of explosion king Michael Bay. Hopkins recently spoke with Yahoo Movies about why he wanted to join the “Transformers” saga, and wholeheartedly cited the director.

“I thought, ‘This guy’s a genius, he really is,’” he said. “He’s the same ilk as Oliver Stone and [Steven] Spielberg and [Martin] Scorsese. Brilliance. Savants, really, they are. He’s a savant. [The movies are] terrific. They’re created by a genius.”

Bay recently admitted on his site that the upcoming “Transformers: The Last Knight” could be his final entry in the franchise.

“With every Transformers film, I’ve said it would be my last,” he wrote. “I see the 120 million fans around the world who see these movies, the huge theme

‘Donnie Darko’ and His Best Friend Frank Return in New 4K Remastering — Watch

‘Southland Tales’ Could Be Getting ‘Expanded’ Re-Release, Teases Richard Kelly

‘Southland Tales’ Could Be Getting ‘Expanded’ Re-Release, Teases Richard Kelly
Good news for “Southland Tales” fans: the 2007 fantasy thriller could be getting an expanded re-release. In an interview with Vulture, director Richard Kelly discussed the possibility of his surreal feature getting some form of re-release, and an “expanded” one at that.

Southland Tales” is set in post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in the then near future of 2008. The country goes into chaotic mode after an explosion on July 4, and small gangs take over the cities. In La, a group of rebels launch a scientific experiment to duplicate people’s identity. And that’s just the beginning of Kelly’s unique — and maligned — creative vision. When the film was released, it was widely bashed by critics and audiences alike, and still holds a dismal 36% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Two worlds collide, but only one survives in the latest trailer for “Transformers: The Last Knight,” the fifth installment in Michael Bay’s action franchise. Previewed just two days before Super Bowl Li, the clip shows how Optimus Prime “has left us” and how the world is divided by the good and the bad.

Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner also co-star.

Emerald City TV Review – Oz Will Blow You Away All Over Again

Television reimaginings of classic tales have made for some wonderfully engaging entertainment (going back to Syfy efforts Tin Man and Alice, which were surprisingly fun) but Emerald City moves to a new level as Tarsem Singh returns to the form he hasn’t quite managed since The Fall.

The warning that should come on the tin is that audiences shouldn’t go into this expecting anything like a “retelling” of The Wizard of Oz. It would be nearly impossible to give a clear idea of what’s happened to L. Frank Baum’s works here, but it isn’t just modernized, but dipped in the grime of reality, and subjected to an absolutely unfettered imagination. It covers elements of the first three books (and perhaps beyond… it’s been a while), but is “inspired by” in the broadest sense. Some characters in this effort are an amalgamation of two characters in the books,
