Selma Blair: 'I'll lose everything, I'll go to court'

Selma Blair kept asking herself why she didn’t just hit James Toback and run out of the room. A leading voice in exposing Hollywood talks single parenthood, stray dogs and how speaking out helped her

Halfway through our interview, Selma Blair’s one-eyed dog Buster climbs on to the restaurant table at the Chateau Marmont in La and happily devours an entire plate of leafy greens. Strangers are staring. I’m staring. “Are you disgusted that I’m letting my dog do this?” Selma asks, her face serious, her tone as drily hilarious as it has been for the past hour, even when discussing the state of Hollywood for women and her fears that she’ll never work again. In fact, I’m just amazed that, here in Hollywood, even rescue mutts with part of their face missing seem to enjoy rocket salad with a blue cheese dressing. “I

When it first hit movie theatres in 1999, “Cruel Intentions” was seen as a sexually charged, envelope-pushing, taboo-busting drama about a nasty rich girl (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who makes a bet with her equally nasty stepbrother (Ryan Phillipe) that he can’t deflower the virginal daughter (Reese Witherspoon) of their private school’s headmaster before the end

Riverdale Round Table: Bughead Back Together (Again)

  • TVfanatic
Penny tried to rejoin the Southside Serpents, Hal moved out of the Cooper house, and Hiram ordered the death of a mob criminal on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 12.

Below, TV Fanatics Jack Ori, Paul Dailly and Justin Carreiro debate Fp's prediction of Jughead, the longevity of the Bughead relationship, and Hiram potentially getting Archie more involved in the business.

1. Veronica wanted Archie kept separate from the Lodge business dealings, but he just saved Hiram's life. Do you think Hiram will honor her request or will he get Archie more involved because he trusts him?

Jack: I didn't trust for a second that Hiram was really agreeing to Veronica's request. He definitely wants Archie involved, most likely so he can have control over his relationship with Veronica. I also thought at first that Hiram had arranged for Archie to overhear the threat as a test, but since the traitor was killed,

2.12 The Wicked And The Divine

Featuring music cues ripped from Boogie Nights and Reservoir Dogs, as well as a general Goodfellas-light air to the proceedings, tonight’s episode is a valentine to '90s cinema, and perhaps the greatest example yet of how Riverdale loves to infuse disparate pop culture elements into its increasingly ridiculous world. (This is, after all, a show that namedrops 'Bittersweet Symphony' as the “song from Cruel Intentions” as opposed to referring to it as the Verve’s best-known tune). Not that there’s anything wrong with any of this. In fact, as I've mentioned before, if there’s one

Critics Pick the Best Movies That Should Be Made Into TV Shows — IndieWire Survey

Critics Pick the Best Movies That Should Be Made Into TV Shows — IndieWire Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: In light of recent “Galaxy Quest” and “Lord of the Rings” news, which movie/movie franchise should be rebooted as a TV series? (question courtesy of Allison Keene)

Pilot Viruet (@pilotbacon), Vice

I have so many ideas for this! During that season we got “Minority Report” and “Limitless,” I got angry about how many of these reboots/remakes/sequels are male-skewering and male-dominated and started making a list of all the movies I’d rather see instead – obviously ones that are more focused on telling stories about women and non-binary folks. “Whip It” could be a fantastic Freeform teen drama series (I’m still angry that

Amy Adams Talks ‘Justice League,’ American Cinematheque Award

Amy Adams Talks ‘Justice League,’ American Cinematheque Award
Amy Adams can rise to any challenge: sparkle as a princess, brawl like a Boston barmaid, dance with Muppets, kiss Superman, earn five Oscar nominations and hold her own against Meryl Streep — twice. Still, on Nov. 10, the deeply private, craft-driven actress will face a new test when Tom Hanks, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, Chris Messina and Denis Villeneuve take the stage of the Beverly Hilton Hotel to praise her talents as the 31st recipient of the American Cinematheque Award.

Being lauded for her entire body of work is “a little overwhelming,” says Adams. “I tend to look at things piece by piece.”

As for the prospect of watching a montage of her entire filmography, Adams falls silent. “Yup,” she eventually says with the well-mannered equanimity of an actress who spent years doing dinner theater in Minnesota. Then she giggle-exhales.

“I wasn’t even comfortable at my wedding having my family say things that were nice
