What Do We Need from the Hellboy Reboot?

Source: Fashion and Action via Facebook

As news about American Gods actor Ian McShane’s role in the new Hellboy reboot surfaces, more and more questions are being asked about the future of the Hellboy franchise. Many fans spoke out about original Hellboy actor, Ron Perlman, and their anger seeing the rough and tumble man kicked to the curb, but were at least relieved to see a fitting replacement in Stranger Things star David Harbour, an actor similarly known for his gruff demeanor.

The new movie will pit the big, red cat lover against the Blood Queen, the ruling witch queen over all the witches of England. As the original two films with Perlman focused on Rasputin, a main villain of the series, the sorcerer’s time in the comics ended fairly early.

The blood queen, however, played her role near the end of the standalone Hellboy series,

Hellboy reboot casts Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan

As pre-production on the Hellboy reboot ramps up ahead of filming later this year, the film has made yet another cast addition. The latest actress to join, per The Hollywood Reporter, is American Honey’s Sasha Lane, taking the role of Alice Monaghan in the film.

In the Hellboy comics, Alice Monaghan was a baby when she was kidnapped by fairies and then rescued by Hellboy. Due to her time with the fairies, Alice retained some magical abilities and met Hellboy again as she grew up. Though she was also in her early 50s, she showed little sign of ageing thanks to the fairies’ magic.

According to Splash Report, the movie will also feature Abe Sapien and Major Ben Daimio of the B.P.R.D., Gruagach, Baba Yaga and King Arthur and Merlin. Expect more casting news soon.

Stranger ThingsDavid Harbour will star as the titular hero with

Don’t Knock Twice Review

Author: Guest

Arguably horror is the most symbolic of film genres, as it relies heavily on senses and imagery to convey suspense and the moral message of the story. The mark of successful horror films as seen in the last few years such as The Babadook, Don’t Breathe, and this year’s sensation Get Out, have managed to balance tone and exposition well – paving the path for more sophisticated endeavours. Sadly, Caradog W. James’ Don’t Knock Twice seems to be taking backward steps down that path, in what can only be described as a juvenile and slapdash piece of cinema.

The film entails American sculptor Jess (Katee Sackhoff), reuniting with her teenage daughter Chloe (Lucy Boynton) who’s living in a foster home. Jess invites Chloe to come live with her but distraught at her mother’s abandonment, the latter refuses. That night Chloe and her boyfriend Danny

In preparation for ‘Chapter Two’ here’s our A-z of ‘John Wick’

Ahead of Chapter Two, here’s our A-z of the world of John Wick.

John Wick: Chapter 2 arrives in UK cinemas on February 17th 2017. The film is a sequel to 2014’s John Wick, the film that re-established Keanu Reeves as an A-List action star. The story told of a retired hit-man who found himself back in the seedy criminal world after his beloved dog, a gift from his deceased wife, was murdered. The film is all kinds of brilliant, perfectly blending various elements to create a real-life graphic novel.

But in case you’re a little rusty on the world of Wick we’ve compiled this handy A – Z guide.

A is for Assassins

For those not acquainted with the world of John Wick, it’s all about the underworld of hit-men and hit-women. The most decorated of these is John Wick (Keanu Reeves), a hit-man who managed to

Sleek New Photos For John Wick: Chapter 2 Tease Old Friends And New Adversaries

See Full Gallery Here

When John Wick was first introduced to the moviegoing masses three years ago, co-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch did a remarkable job of establishing the mythos of Keanu Reeves’ assassin. Often referred to as the Boogeyman and/or Baba Yaga, even when Reeves wasn’t on the screen characters spoke of his elusive hitman in hushed whispers, as though they were fearful of summoning the devil himself. The truth, however, was much worse.

Fast forward to 2017 and we’re on the verge of welcoming Keanu Reeves back to the action scene via John Wick: Chapter 2, and with a February 10th release date fast approaching, Coming Soon has premiered a series of new stills featuring old allies (Ian McShane’s Winston), new adversaries (Ruby Rose’s Ares) and a cute canine companion. Picking up immediately where the first film left off, chapter two of John Wick

Four Spectacular and Intriguing Polish Short Films Based on Slavic Legends

I've got four impressive short films for you to check out today. The shorts were beautifully made by Polish animator Tomasz Bagiński and the modern stories they tell are based on Slavic legends. The films range from 13 to 30 minutes, so it will take some time to get through, but it's worth it. I included the title of each film along with a Google translated version of each synopsis:

Basilisk

From the sea to the Tatra Mountains open the gates of hell. It is not known who is behind this, but I know who it stepped: Bogus Kolodziej and his loosely affiliated with the reality of Uncle Eugene. The two police officers look hard in the eye prastaremu danger, and even collide with it through the Polonaise!

Dragon

Castle Krak and its inhabitants are in danger. The city is threatening dragon, which, however, does not resemble at all the legendary monster.
