Top Gear: Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc launch new series – as it happened

It’s back! But did the new team outdo Jeremy Clarkson and the gang? We watched it and found out

New Top Gear review: new faces, but there’s something familiar …

9.03pm BST

The film has ended, and now the programme is about to end. That wasn’t very good, was it? Still, thanks for reading along. Will there be a Top Gear liveblog this time next week? God no. God No. Bye.

Related: New Top Gear review: new faces, but there's something familiar …

Is this running long? Do I have to punch myself in the face now? I’d better do it hard, because I’d give anything to be unconscious right about now.

8.59pm BST

This whole show feels like someone used the internet to translate Top Gear from English to Swahili and then back into English again. The intention is right but the execution is buggered beyond all belief.

This article is part of an on-going original series written by Caitlyn Jenner for WhoSay called "The Real Me," which explores issues and people in the Lgbt community. Hello friends. Caitlyn here. As the first season of my show, I Am Cait, comes to end, I find myself reflecting on my journey so far and just how rewarding it has been. My experience over the last four months has been incredible. Many people have come up to me and told me their stories. It turns out lots of you have friends or family members who are transgender. Who knew? I never would have had these conversations if I had not come out publicly and finally lived my truth. For so long, people—myself included—were embarrassed to talk...

Tfi Friday – it's your live blog, it's your live blog, as it happened

Chris Evans returned for a one-off special with guests including Jeremy Clarkson, Blur and Liam Gallagher

Tfi: a nod to 90s nostalgiaWhat happened to Friday night TV?

10.54pm BST

Lessons learned? Never have Lewis Hamilton on your television programme as the main guest. Never pretend that the 1990s were better than they were. And never go back. Never, ever go back.

Anyway, thanks for joining me. If you want to follow me on Twitter, I’m @StuHeritage. If you don’t, I’ll try not to lose any sleep. Ok, bye.

10.53pm BST

10.52pm BST

“Can you remember when Tfi Friday started?”

“In the 1990s? No.”

10.51pm BST

If the studio audience has gone a bit quiet,
