Fantasia 2017: ‘Better Watch Out’ Review

Formerly known as Safe Neighborhood, I first became aware of this as it played at Fantastic Fest in 2016. Now here we are for Fantasia 2017 with distribution from Well Go USA, a new title, and a little Christmas in July spirit for those in attendance!

Tis the season! A safe neighborhood, an average night. Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) heads over to Deandra and Robert’s house (Virginia Madsen and Patrick Warburton, respectively) in order to babysit their lovesick 14 year old, Luke (Levi Miller). Shortly before her arrival, Luke and his friend Garrett (Ed Oxenbould) discuss Luke’s plan to finally win over his teen babysitter. Luke tries moves, tries to impress her, and gets her to sit down to watch a horror film with him. Just when it looks like they might be getting close, strange things begin happening outside. An unsolicited pizza delivery, a knock on the door without a culprit,

Indie Sales boards Sandrine Kiberlain-starrer 'When Margaux Meets Margaux'

Kiberlain will be in Cannes this year as president of the Caméra d’Or jury for first films.

Indie Sales has boarded French film-maker Sophie Fillières’s high-concept comedy When Margaux Meets Margaux starring Sandrine Kiberlain as a woman in her mid-40s who meets another woman called Margaux, who is actually her younger self.

French actress Kiberlain, seen most recently in André Téchiné’s Being 17, will be in Cannes this year as president of the Caméra d’Or jury for first films.

Set against the backdrops of the Alpine resort of Les Arcs, Paris and Lyon, the picture revolves around two women both called Margaux, played by Kiberlain and Agathe Bonitzer.

Although 20-years apart in age, troubling details and similarities seem to link the two women. They discover they share more than the same name, with life changing consequences for both of them.

It marks a sixth feature for Fillière after the 2014 marriage comedy If You

Fuller House's "Summer Fun" Season 3 Will Have to Write in Jodie Sweetin's Leg Injury

Fuller House's
It was Christmas in July for Fuller House season two and summer in March for Fuller House season three. "I've only read the first two episodes, but this whole season is going to be about summer fun," Candace Cameron Bure told E! News' Carissa Culiner at the Kids Choice Awards. Filming has just started on the third installment of the Full House sequel series. The first two seasons came out within the same calendar year, with season two being shot over the summer and featuring a variety of holidays (hence Christmas in July). Production on the third season was delayed after Jodie Sweetin broke her ankle and tibia after hopping a fence to get a toy her kid had thrown over. "They have to write...

Celebrate July In Christmas With Hawaiian Themed Deadpool Shirt

Christmas in July is a thing, so why can't July in Christmas be a thing as well? That stupid logic sounds like something straight out of a Deadpool comic, which makes sense seeing as we're showcasing a Deadpool product. [We know that none of that makes any sense, but Mick is under a lot of stress this week, so we're letting it go. -Ed.] Amaze your loved one with this Hawaiian themed Deadpool shirt from the folks at ThinkGeek for $49.99. That's a bit too rich for my blood honestly, but maybe someone out there has the scratch and love of Deadpool to justify it.

If you're interested pick it up here.

How Stephen Colbert's Rnc/DNC Coverage Underlined an Identity Crisis

How Stephen Colbert's Rnc/DNC Coverage Underlined an Identity Crisis
National conventions allow political parties to rally their base, establish their agenda and present their presidential nominee in the best light possible. So it proved oddly fitting that Stephen Colbert chose to do two weeks of live broadcasts timed to the Republican and Democratic conventions. After all, not unlike Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the Late Show host is trying to win over a nation that remains largely uncertain about him.

When CBS announced in April 2014 that Colbert, then riding high with the brilliantly funny The Colbert Report, would replace David Letterman,

Blu-ray Review: Return of the Living Dead Collector’s Edition (Scream Factory)

Reviews like this are tough, because a movie like Return of the Living Dead has been discussed-to-death on the internet for at least the last two decades. What can one possibly say that another hasn’t already? In addition to that, this is also the third Blu-ray release of the film I have seen. There was the disappointing MGM release in 2010, and then much better Second Sight release from the UK that dropped in 2012 and resurrected the original audio track containing the songs that were cut from the Us release. And here comes Scream Factory to topple them all. Sorry to spoil my review, but this is the definitive Blu-ray release of Return of the Living Dead. I have never seen this movie look so beautiful in all the years I have watched it. Couple with that, the fact that there are several audio options for you to choose from,

Action Lab: Danger Zone’s new series Sleigher: The Heavy Metal Santa Claus #1 gets underway on Wednesday, and we’ve got a preview for you here…

Sleigher is the most recent (and reluctant) heir of the centuries old lineage to bear the title of “Santa Claus.” He’d rather slam back bourbon than glasses of milk, and blast metal instead of carols. Christmas in July…headbanger style – featuring a limited edition variant cover by Tony Fleecs (My Little Pony).
