Sofia Carson Adds Disney Magic to the Holidays and Shares Her Highlights From 2017
Who better to unveil the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store's holiday window display than Sofia Carson? In honor of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' 80th anniversary, Carson—who plays Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen in Disney Channel's Descendants and Descendants 2—performed "A Smile and a Song" from the animated classic, released in 1937. "Isn't that crazy?" the actress asked E! News after her set ended Monday night. "Celebrating something so special, like Snow White's birthday and the unveiling of the iconic Saks windows, for me to be the ambassador of this is such an honor. Disney's Prince Charming Movie Targets Perks of Being a Wallflower Director
Disney is finally moving forward with its long-gestating Prince Charming project, bringing aboard filmmaker Stephen Chbosky to write the script, with an eye towards directing as well. We first reported on this Prince Charming live-action movie back in July 2015, with the studio bringing in writer Matthew Fogel (Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son) to write the script, but we haven't heard any updates on the project since then. Disney still hasn't issued a release date and there is no production schedule at this time, but at least the studio is actually moving forward with this once gestating project.

There is no indication as to whether Stephen Chbosky is simply rewriting or performing a polish on the original script by Matthew Fogel, or if he is conducting an exhaustive page-one rewrite and starting over from scratch. The story for this latest Disney live-action remake will be a revisionist tale, told from

Bts Hilariously Dress Up as Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs for Dance Rehearsal
Bts are getting in the Halloween spirit!

The K-pop boyband shared a hilarious YouTube video on Friday of themselves practicing the choreography of their song “Go Go” dressed as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (well, six).

Despite being dressed in head-to-toe costumes (hats, oversized shoes and all), the boys didn’t seem to miss a beat! Most impressive of all, however, was V’s ability to nail the moves while wearing Snow White’s floor-length dress; he was such a good sport, he even carried around an apple during the performance!

Watch below.

Animation Is Film Festival Readies Its L.A. Debut

Back in the 1990s, Eric Beckman started the New York Intl. Children’s Film Festival, which gradually grew a reputation for screening the types of independent and international animation that too often went missing next to the macrobudget cartoon hegemony of Disney and DreamWorks.

The fest eventually blossomed into an Oscar-qualifying institution. Yet Beckman was often peppered with questions from festgoers: Where can I see this film again? Where can I find it online? Sensing a vacuum, he and partner David Jesteadt hatched their own distribution company, Gkids, which looked to find homes and craft carefully tailored release strategies for idiosyncratic animated features.

Founded in 2008, Gkids has become a serious name in animation remarkably quickly. It’s gone on to secure nine Oscar nominations for the likes of “Chico and Rita,” “My Life as a Zucchini” and “The Secret of Kells,” and it became the U.S. distributor for Japan’s venerable Studio Ghibli.

Now, Beckman

GKids, which has nine Oscar nominations (including this year’s “My Life as a Zucchini”), has seven movies in contention this season; four showcase in competition at Aif. The highlight is “The Breadwinner” (October 20), a coproduction of Ireland,

1 of the Greatest Actors of the Studio Era Has His TCM Month
Ronald Colman: Turner Classic Movies' Star of the Month in two major 1930s classics Updated: Turner Classic Movies' July 2017 Star of the Month is Ronald Colman, one of the finest performers of the studio era. On Thursday night, TCM presented five Colman star vehicles that should be popping up again in the not-too-distant future: A Tale of Two Cities, The Prisoner of Zenda, Kismet, Lucky Partners, and My Life with Caroline. The first two movies are among not only Colman's best, but also among Hollywood's best during its so-called Golden Age. Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, Jack Conway's Academy Award-nominated A Tale of Two Cities (1936) is a rare Hollywood production indeed: it manages to effectively condense its sprawling source, it boasts first-rate production values, and it features a phenomenal central performance. Ah, it also shows its star without his trademark mustache – about as famous at the time as Clark Gable's. Perhaps

39 Thoughts I Had While Watching Game of Thrones For the First Time

  • BuzzSugar
I'm not sure if you heard the news, but Game of Thrones returned on Sunday. Before I confuse anyone with the ridiculousness of this post, I need to make one thing clear: I do not watch the show, sue me. For the past six years, I've been bothered, pestered, and straight-up begged to watch the show by my diehard fan of a brother. My friends didn't help either. With every single social media feed inundated by Westeros weirdness, I was understandably overwhelmed and confused, like, I thought Jon Snow was dead, why is he trending on Twitter? Why would I start a show that everyone already was obsessed with? I had trouble justifying binge-watching seasons that just look *cold*, and who has that kind of time? I've clearly done a lot of thinking about why I shouldn't watch the show, but on Sunday, I said f*ck it, time to

Tess Holliday Slams New Snow White Parody Movie Poster as Body Shaming: ‘How Did This Get Approved’

  • PEOPLE.com
Promotions for a new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs parody are leaving people with a bad taste worse than a poisonous apple.

Red Shoes & the 7 Dwarfs, the newest retelling of the animated classic, is being criticized for its marketing campaign. Many say the movie poster — depicting the tall, thin heroine next to a shorter, heavier version of herself — is derogatory and fat shaming.

“What if Snow White was no longer beautiful and the 7 Dwarfs not so short?” the tagline reads.

Tess Holliday posted a photo of the poster on Tuesday, slamming the film for suggesting that the heavier Snow White is “no longer beautiful.

Sam Mendes is in early talks to direct Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Pinocchio.”

Sources close to Mendes say that the director has not fully committed to helming the film yet. Mendes has not been able to meet with studio execs yet due to his commitment to his West End play “The Ferryman,” which is currently in production.

Peter Hedges penned the script, and Chris Weitz and Andrew Miano from Depth of Field are producing.

Mendes will no longer direct the “James and the Giant Peach” remake for Disney, which he was attached to less than a year ago.
