Alex uses a spell to reverse time so Justin's first kiss is not a disaster. The voice of the NY Mets wants to use Max's sandwich for the official Met sandwich, unfortunately he cannot remember how he made it.
To spend more time with Harper, Alex coerces her parents to hire her as an extra waitress at the Waverly Sub-Station. But when she finds out how poorly her best friend does on the job, she puts an ancient spell on her that transforms her into a superior serving wench, and ends up making her too good. Meanwhile Justin's tutoring is interrupted by a young extortionist.
Alex is mad she cannot use magic anytime. She finds out one of her classmates is a wizard and has no restrictions on his use of magic. She invites him and his parents over to convince hers, but learns he has a secret.
When Alex learns Justin's new friends are cool she wants to hang out with them, must to Justin's dismay. Alex's attempt at getting into an R rated move puts her into the horror flick with only Justin to rescue her
It's wizard report card time, and Alex isn't doing at all well and needs to have her card signed by her parents. She tries to hide it from them, but when she can no longer hide it, she panics and transforms her parents into guinea pigs and loses them. Worst of all, the Russo siblings' Wizarding Professor is on his way to talk to her parents.
The young wizards learn a body switching spell. Alex turns 15, time for a big celebration, her non-magical maternal grandmother comes for the party. Alex does not understand why the party is such a big deal and uses the body switch on her mother.
Alex wants to do well in art history without any work, so on a school trip to the art museum she brings historical paintings to life to help her. Meanwhile Jerry and Max find a way to play football in the house which doesn't turn out well.
Alex and Harper enter an academic contest, for which Alex wears a pair of "smarty pants" that gives her all the answers, without any regard for Harper. Elsewhere, Max starts a water bottle business at school.
Justin and Max steal Alex's diary only to have it stolen again by Gigi, Alex's arch nemesis. In an attempt to recover the diary, the brothers accidentally place Gigi inside the book and into Alex's secret fairy-tale princess world.
In an effort to spend time with Dean so she can talk him into becoming her permanent boyfriend, Alex invites him to the Russo family basement/garage to help fix an old car that Jerry never had time to take care of and enter it in a race in New Jersey. However, he proves to be so good he ends up gaining the admiration of the rest of the Russo family, especially Jerry, which hinders her plans for alone time with him. Meanwhile, Justin taunts Max for his recent purchases of suspicious items from the World Wide Wiz-Web, some of which turn out to work, even if they don't work perfectly.
The Russo family is assigned to a popular convention to be on the lookout for rogue wizards who use magic to stir up trouble. But when Alex and her brothers go to the convention on a special assignment, Harper is along for the ride for the costumes. Alex is starting to feel compelled to reveal to Harper just who she really is.
Fearing that her parents might break up on their anniversary, Alex orders Cupid from the world-wide wiz-web. The trouble is, the couple he ends up bringing together turns out to be... of all people, Justin and Harper!
A guidance counselor from the Wizard World is sent to advise the Russo kids on alternate career plans in case they fail their wizard training. After much arguing between Justin & Alex, they decide to form a two-person rock band, a la The White Stripes, and prove to be quite the duo. Max decides that his alternate plan is to be a magician, and proves to be just as good as his older siblings, if not better.
Alex finds out that her favorite teacher, Miss Jennifer Majorhealy, is in reality a 16-year-old girl who was transformed into an adult by TJ Taylor(See episode #1.5, "Disenchanted Evening"). When she sprinkles her with undo dust and changes her back, she puts the entire art program at risk of being cut. Max makes up a fake disease to get out of a class, but ends up also getting the attention of a girl he likes, as well as two celebrities.
The desire to keep his favorite weatherman from being fired prompts Justin to get him to call for outlandish forecasts that he makes come true, and brings Mother Nature herself to take her anger out on him.
Justin wins an essay contest that allows him to go on the S.S. Tipton and meet London Tipton. Alex soon becomes friends with Bailey Pickett, and uses magic to bring Harper on-board. Max and Zack Martin compete against each other in many crazy challenges.
Jerry and his siblings, Megan and Kelbo, decide to take the infamous Wizard test again, the one that decided which of them got to keep their powers years ago, but when his children see the rivalry, they fear that it could tear their own family apart
Alex meets a cute British boy in art class named Mason Greybeck, who for some reason paints every one of his subjects as a dog... until she uses her magic to turn herself into his new artistic inspiration in an effort to make him a better artist. Meanwhile Jerry gives Justin a pair of protective goggles to help him fight the mummy that kidnapped Juliet.
Alex learns Mason's secret, that he's a werewolf. Justin is about to give up on his quest to find Juliet. With Masons help, the young wizards find Juliet, but Justin thinks that Mason has captured and took Alex along with him; Justin must save Alex.
Alex decides she wants to try and be positive, but when she is unable to do that herself she uses a magic marker to make sure she's positive without effort. When she loses all respect for being too positive she tries to find a balance.
Alex discovers her friend Stevie is leading a wizard revolution. To the dismay of Justin and Harper, she decides to help Stevie with her quest to make sure no wizard ever has to give up their powers again.
Max gets Alex and Justin to use an aging spell, so that they can pose as his parents when he brings his new girlfriend, Nancy, home to meet the family. But after his real parents tell him honesty is the best policy, Max tells Nancy the truth- including the fact that he's a real wizard.
Alex surprises Justin by telling him that she made a duplicate Justin and sent him off to college. Turns out his duplicate is not exactly what Justin had in mind. Meanwhile, the Russos try to be better parents.
Alex (Selena Gomez) quits her wizard training after she decides there will never be enough time to regain her status and compete for the title of family wizard. However, she is shocked to learn that, as a mortal, she will no longer be able to date Mason (Gregg Sulkin). Meanwhile, after meeting with the Wizard Family Competition Commissioner, Justin (David Henrie) decides to tutor delinquent wizards and do whatever it takes to get himself back in the running for the wizard competition. And a family of Cucuys, Latino mythical monsters, invites the Russos for an evening on their yacht.
Harper tries convincing Alex that life without magic isn't so bad, but the strain of taking responsibility for her actions instead of using magic causes a disagreement between the two best friends. Meanwhile, after Jerry finds the family heirloom wizard robe in shambles, he tries to get to the bottom of how it was destroyed.
Zeke seeks magic as a new hobby, and when Alex impulsively and secretly assists in one of his routines, he begins to suspect that he himself might be a wizard, and confides in Harper about this, forcing her to convince Alex to either expose the truth about wizardry to him, or she will.
Alex and Harper decide to do a puppet show to raise money for a new apartment and Zeke and Justin help them. But Alex forgets to write the lines for the show. Harper gets mad and decides to do a show of her own and makes her puppets act like the way Alex treats her. Alex makes Justin and Zeke puppets for her show and steals Harper's crowd which makes Harper upset. Then Alex apologizes to Harper using the puppets. Meanwhile, Talia's parents meet Theresa and Jerry for the first time, but it does not go well. Justin puts a spell on Talia's parents to forget they ever meet Theresa and Jerry. They meet again, but this time they end up watching a 16 hour play together.
