‘House of Cards’ Actor Reg E. Cathey Joins Indie ‘Flock of Four’
Reg E. Cathey has joined the cast of the indie drama “Flock of Four” from director Gregory Caruso.

Newcomers Braeden Lemasters, Isaac Jay, Uriah Shelton, and Dylan Snyder are on board to star, with Caruso writing and directing. Michael Nader co-wrote the script with Caruso.

The project is based on Caruso’s short film of the same name, which he also penned and helmed.

The film, which explores jazz and historic Central Avenue in South Central Los Angeles, centers around four jazz-loving teenagers who venture from their homes in Pasadena to South Central in order to hear the legendary bandleader Pope Dixon (Cathey) play a one-night-only show in 1959. The group encounters a side of Los Angeles, culture, and jazz that they never knew existed.

Shane Harper, Gatlin Green, Coco Jones, Connor Paolo, and Anthony Laciura are also in the cast. William Day Frank will produce along with Caruso, who will

'Dance Moms' holiday special: Cathy Nesbitt-Stein stops by to fight

It's time for the "Dance Moms" holiday special, which should prove to be full of yuletide cheer and nothing but "God bless us, every one," right?

Uh huh. In the holiday spirit, Abby Lee Miller says that Christmas means to her that it's "two weeks off from the dance studio. No moms, no kids, no complaining."

Miller then says her "Dance Moms" are so rude that none of them are on her "nice" list. They're all on the naughty list -- Christi, whose mouth is out of control; Melissa, who is naughty all the time, inappropriately in front of the kids; Kelly showing up drunk at the dance studio, etc. etc.

Good times.

The gifts are given out by shirtless Santa's elves. Kelly gets a beer helmet and eight bottles of tequila, Jill gets lip plumper, Holly gets shoes (for her big feet), Christi gets a cash box and makes

Martha Stewart Dresses Up as Glinda the Good Witch for Hub Halloween Bash—See the Pic!

Martha Stewart Dresses Up as Glinda the Good Witch for Hub Halloween Bash—See the Pic!
For Martha Stewart, there's no place like Oz. The domestic doyenne wore flowing, pink chiffon gown and accompany pink bodysuit as she went as Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz for Hub Network's 1st annual Halloween Bash in Santa Monica, Calif. Instead of the yellow brick road, the 72-year-old Stewart walked the red purple carpet with her magic wand, and while she didn't send anyone off to see the Wizard, she did serve as a guest judge deciding which kids' Halloween costumes were tops at the inaugural event along with actor Hal Sparks, and singer and dancer Coco Jones. The kitchen maven also offered a host of "spooktacular" All Hallow's Eve ideas on Hub and Stewart's...

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance that had everyone talking - and gasping - was Miley Cyrus' racy rendition of "We Can't Stop."

The 20-year-old twerked her way into Vma history while performing her hit single with giant dancing teddy bears and a revealing nude-colored bikini, and later, gyrating against Robin Thicke as he performed "Blurred Lines," as part of a multi-song medley.

Let It Shine: Extended Edition DVD Review

  • Cinelinx
The Movie Pool busts a move with the Let It Shine: Extended Edition DVD!

The Set-up

Cyrus (Tyler James Williams) is an aspiring young rapper who longs for the attention of a former classmate who is now a pop princess (Coco Jones). When his song hits it big, he lets his friend Kris (Trevor Jackson) take the credit, causing more problems that he ever imagined.

Directed by: Paul Hoen

The Delivery

Let It Shine is the latest in a string of Disney Channel musicals geared to America's pre-teens. The best way I can describe the movie is this way: if you are 12, you'll love it. The older you get, the less you may enjoy it.

At times a very entertaining musical with a good heart, the film suffers when it tries to cater to a young audience. This drama/musical is so over-Disneyfied that it borders on silly at times.

DVD Playhouse--August 2012

By Allen Gardner

A Separation (Sony) This drama from Iran won the 2011 Best Foreign Film Oscar, telling the story of a couple who file for a legal separation, with the wife pushing for a divorce. He won’t leave his Alzheimer’s-afflicted father behind, while she is wanting to take their young daughter with her to the United States. After a series of misunderstandings, threats and legal actions, the couple find that there is more than just their marriage that’s on the line. Hyper-realistic to a fault, reminiscent of the neo-realist films that came out of post-ww II Europe, but also repressive and redundant in the extreme, with the characters seeming to throw the same temper tantrum for two hours straight while the story, meanwhile, seems stalled. Wildly overpraised film is a real litmus test, with viewers seeming to be staunch defenders or equally impassioned detractors. It did win an Oscar,
