Don’t Expect To See McU Movie Heroes In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Ever

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was launched in 2013 with much fanfare as a new and vital link in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We were told that the events within would impact upon the films (and vice versa), and most fans anticipated at minimum a couple of cameos from some of the Avengers.

What we actually got, though, were several narrative arcs with little to no connection with the McU. In the end, the connections were limited to the character of Agent Coulson, very brief appearances from Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Alexander and Cobie Smulders, the consequences of the plots of the Captain America movies and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. locating Loki’s staff in time for the opening of Age of Ultron.

Despite that, the show has been muddling along in its own McU cul-de-sac, having picked up a devoted fanbase that’s seen it recently hit its 100th episode. This is a pretty big milestone,

How Kevin Smith Helped Save Thor: Ragnarok

How Kevin Smith Helped Save Thor: Ragnarok
If you still haven't seen Thor: Ragnarok there will be some Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk. Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok is well on its way to a second-straight box office win, with an impressive $121 million opening weekend domestically while reaching over $400 million worldwide. The movie was quite the departure from the first two Thor movies, featuring Thor (Chris Hemsworth) sporting a new short-hair look, while reuniting with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and meeting all kinds of new characters on the planet of Sakaar. Many fans and critics alike pointed out how this was easily the funniest Thor movie (and possibly one of the funniest McU movies period), which Chris Hemsworth revealed in a recent interview was in part due to the actor reaching out to comedic filmmaker and lifelong superhero/comic book fan Kevin Smith.

While neither of the Thor movies were critical or commercial failures, they're

Thor Ragnarok Review #2: Marvel Hits Another Hilarious Home Run

Thor Ragnarok Review #2: Marvel Hits Another Hilarious Home Run
Like many of the unorthodox directorial choices Marvel Studios has made, the selection of Taika Waititi to direct Thor: Ragnarok took many by surprise. Much like the Russo Brothers before him, Taika Waititi was known for his comedic sensibilities, directing quirky indie features like Eagle Vs. Shark, What We Do In the Shadows and The Hunt For the Wilderpeople, with the massive $185 million budget easily making this movie the biggest of his career, by a long shot. Also much like the Russos, Taika Waititi was more than up to the enormous challenge at hand, delivering not only the best Thor movie by a country mile (even Joss Whedon called it a modern masterpiece), but also one of the best McU movies, period.

The McU is one of the rare franchises that has never had a total whiff, at least not on the big screen (*cough* Inhumans *cough*), but, to many,

Grandmaster and Collector to Team Up in a Future Marvel Movie?
This weekend, Marvel fans will be introduced to a number of new Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in Thor: Ragnarok, one of whom is The Grandmaster, played by Jeff Goldblum. It was confirmed this summer that The Grandmaster is the brother of another McU character, Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. The Collector (Benicio del Toro) from Guardians of the Galaxy. There is even a portrait of these brothers arguing over a chess game that was created for the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout ride at Disneyland, but is there a chance that these brothers could show up in the same movie together? According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, that very well may happen. Here's what he had to say while promoting Thor: Ragnarok, when asked if there's a chance these two characters could be featured in the same movie.

"It would be awesome man. It would be great. We
