Still, it remains to be seen how it will do in the ratings. Will Snowfall be cancelled or renewed for second season? Stay tuned. ‘Snowfall’ Actor Amin Joseph on Show’s Importance: ‘We Can’t Whitewash’ Parts of History

‘Snowfall’ Actor Amin Joseph on Show’s Importance: ‘We Can’t Whitewash’ Parts of History
As a kid growing up in Harlem, “Snowfall” actor Amin Joseph remembers seeing rumblings of what would grow into the crack cocaine epidemic: parks and school yards that had become places where people would do or sell drugs. This wasn’t something that hit him until years later. Yes, he participated in jokes about people being “crackheads” and was surrounded by Nancy Regan’s “Just Say No” campaign — but Joseph said he wasn’t cognizant. Even when he stepped on a crack pipe when walking home from school, he didn’t think much of it. “I do remember those times when I wasn’t aware,

Snowfall Review: FX's '80s Drug Drama Is Too Scattered to Get You Hooked

There’s an intriguing, vibrant story at the heart of FX’s new drama Snowfall. Unfortunately, there are also two other, less interesting stories that come along with it — and the show ends up Od’ing on an excess of ambition.

Snowfall, debuting this Wednesday at 10/9c, comes from co-creator/executive producer John Singleton, who immortalized the streets of South Central L.A. with his iconic ’90s film Boyz N the Hood. Here, he takes us to his old stomping ground a decade earlier, in the summer of 1983, when small-time weed dealer Franklin (Damson Idris) gets his first tantalizing taste of the cocaine trade.

'Snowfall': Everything You Need to Know About FX's Origins-of-Crack Drama

It's been 26 years since John Singleton shook up Hollywood with Boyz n the Hood, his feature film debut and a semi-autobiographical story about a Crenshaw teenager trying to live an ordinary life during the height of the Crips/Bloods gang war. Now, the first African-American ever nominated for a Best Director Oscar revisits the crime-ridden Los Angeles he once observed first-hand – and offers a larger, much-needed historical context that helped shape those mean streets.

Singleton's new FX show Snowfall (which debuts on July 5th) follows Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), an ambitious L.

Snowfall Season 1 Review

Three episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

There’s nothing inherently bad about FX’s new drug drama Snowfall. As an opening sentence to a review, that’s not exactly a good omen, but such middling thoughts couldn’t help but bubble to the surface in the three hours I spent watching the original cocaine empire blossom haphazardly out of the sun-soaked streets of south central Los Angeles. It’s got a good lead, a solid premise, and legitimately gorgeous cinematography that lovingly lingers on the palm tree-lined streets of 1983 La like they’re a fresco in the Sistine Chapel.

No, there’s nothing really bad about Snowfall. It’s just that the network it calls home has raised the bar to such a degree that a show turning out just “good” feels disappointing in comparison. Snowfall has a decent narrative, but it lacks daring; there are a few interesting characters,

Baywatch Movie Has Tons of Nudity Says Dwayne Johnson

Baywatch Movie Has Tons of Nudity Says Dwayne Johnson
Way back in August 2015, just after the Baywatwch movie was announced, Dwayne Johnson confirmed the movie would be R-rated, and with the movie set for release on Memorial Day weekend, many are wondering how R-rated this movie will be. While doing the press tour for The Fate of the Furious, Dwayne Johnson spoke about the R rating, confirming that there will be a lot of nudity. Here's what the actor had to say, teasing that the show is far dirtier than the iconic TV series.

"We are far dirtier than the show ever was, obviously the show was a family show on at family time of day, but in the movie we could have been dirtier. I think people are going to be shocked that Baywatch has got dirty, but there are a lot of laughs. We worked hard to make sure the flesh quota was high, there's more gratuitous boobs,

Exclusive Interview – Philip Adkins on his new film The Summoning

In an exclusive interview, Flickering Myth sat down with Hollywood actor/producer Philip Adkins to talk about his latest film The Summoning, with Eric Roberts, set for release January 10th, 2017.

FM: You have been an actor in Los Angeles for a while now, was it always your dream to be an actor? How did acting come about for you?

It really was. I have always been happy when I am acting. I do have other interests, but nothing has made me feel more alive, more excited than acting. I love portraying a character. I love having the ability to affect and influence the audience’s emotions and state of mind (If your production is good enough). Acting came about through high school. I took an elective drama class and was hooked. I never had so much fun at doing anything before.

FM: I understand you were born in Chicago. How

First Baywatch Footage Has a Shirtless Zac Efron and the Rock
Earlier today, Baywatch stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron premiered the first footage from this adaptation on social media. The sexy beachside adventure moved up one week from May 19, 2017 to May 26, 2017, which falls on Memorial Day weekend. These brief videos provide just a tiny taste of all the ocean action before the full trailer debuts tomorrow, Thursday, December 8. We'll be sure to bring you the full trailer as soon as it arrives. But in the meantime, these two teasers help set the tone for this big screen adventure.

Dwayne Johnson's Twitter video teases that the "ocean's most powerful force will emerge," transitioning to a shot of The Rock carrying a lifeless body out of the water. Zac Efron's teaser video shows footage of his character Matt Brody, who is seen jumping off his motorcycle directly into the ocean to save a victim, along with another funnier moment where

New Baywatch Posters Celebrate Halloween with Zac Efron and the Rock

New Baywatch Posters Celebrate Halloween with Zac Efron and the Rock
Earlier this summer, Paramount debuted the first poster for their highly-anticipated Baywatch remake, which helped celebrate Father's Day with Dwayne Johnson and Jon Bass. We haven't seen anything from this movie since then, but today the studio is helping to celebrate the Halloween holiday with three new posters that shows these cast members are "so hot it's scary." It's possible that these posters could be leading into the first trailer's debut in the near future, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The first of two photos, which Paramount debuted on the movie's Twitter account, feature Dwayne Johnson wearing a cape, flanked by Kelly Rohrbach dressed as an angel, and Alexandra Daddario as the devil. The second photo features Zac Efron apparently dressed as Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, since he's holding Halloween buckets filled with gold medals, as both Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera are dressed as cats. The third photo features
