Sylvester Stallone Teases The Expendables Are "Coming Back" For a Fourth Film!

If you're a fan of Sylvester Stallone's hardcore action franchise The Expendables, you'll be happy to hear that a fourth film is back on track! Stallone made the announcement on Instagram with an image and a caption that reads:

"Just when you thought it was safe to go outside…They’re coming back!"

We haven't really heard anything about this film project since it was announced a year ago that the movie would be coming out in 2018. Before that, it was supposed to be released in 2017, so the movie seems to keep getting pushed back.

Stallone first started talking about the film project about three years ago. Since then, we've heard that Hulk Hogan was in talks to play the villain and that Stallone is looking to give fans something completely different. When talking about that, Stallone said:

"I have actually entertained the idea of putting the group into

Expendables 4 Is Back on Track with Sylvester Stallone?

It looks like The Expendables 4 is back on track. Last year, Sylvester Stallone and franchise producer Avi Lerner ran into disagreements about the direction of the fourth, and supposedly final, movie in the action franchise. Since then, the project has been dead and didn't seem to be on a path to revival. However, Stallone has taken to social media to tease that Expendables 4 is still happening.

He didn't have much to share in the way of details, but Sylvester Stallone shared an teaser from the original Expendables on Instagram. In his caption, he made it pretty clear that the proposed fourth movie is going to happen. How it's going to happen or when it's going to happen remains to be seen, but here's the caption Sly provided.

"Just when you thought it was safe to go outside...They're coming back!"

Nu Image/Millennium have produced and financed The Expendables movies up to this point.

‘Bill Nye Saves the World’ Review: Teaching Scientific Literacy to Millennials Makes for a Fist-Bumpy Ride
Bill Nye has an admirable mission but an unenviable task: to combat scientific illiteracy in an era that doesn’t value expertise and reason. The title of his new Netflix TV series “Bill Nye Saves the World” isn’t hyperbole at all. It’s his hope to get viewers psyched up enough about science that they’re not just curious; they want to create a change for the better.

With that in mind, most of the topics driving each episode are ones that people find highly divisive, even politicized, such as vaccinations and another topic dear to his low-carbon-footprint heart. “Did you think I’d get a new TV show and not talk about climate change?” he asks rhetorically in one episode.

Although Nye built his television career hosting a science show for children,

Arnold Schwarzenegger Won’t Do Expendables 4 Without Sylvester Stallone

The Expendables franchise is one that was made in heaven for fans of overly-masculine action cinema. It was a franchise where you could find your favorite washed-up action hero alongside a dozen other washed-up action heroes (and yes, I understand they aren’t all washed-up). Over the course of its three-film run, we’ve seen the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, Mickey Rourke, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Mel Gibson.

It was a great concept, though as fun as the films have been on some level, I’d argue that they haven’t quite lived up to the promise of the premise. While we wouldn’t say the films took themselves seriously, they were a bit darker than I thought they had any business being. I hate throwing this word around,

Stallone Exits Expendables 4, What Does This Mean for the Franchise?

Stallone Exits Expendables 4, What Does This Mean for the Franchise?
Sylvester Stallone is now leaving the Expendables franchise he helped create, backing away from starring in Expendables 4, despite what would reportedly be the biggest payday of his career. Sources claim that the actor would take in a whopping $20 million for starring in Expendables 4, which we had reported in December would be the final sequel in this action-packed franchise. Still, producer Avi Lerner revealed that he doesn't think Sylvester Stallone is leaving quite yet, so there may still be hope for the actor's return.

Deadline reports that Sylvester Stallone and producer Avi Lerner, whose Nu Image/Millennium company has produced and financed all of the Expendables movies, can't find common ground on the script or who will take over as the new director. Another point of contention is the use of Avi Lerner's own VFX house, the Bulgaria-based Nu Boyana, with Sylvester Stallone reportedly worried about the "underwhelming" results of this franchise.

Sylvester Stallone confirms The Expendables 4, promises “something different”

Just before Christmas it was reported that The Expendables 4 had been given the green light, and will bring the curtain down on the action ensemble series when it opens around the globe in 2018.

Well, Sylvester Stallone has now confirmed his return as Barney Ross for the fourth and final instalment, providing a brief update on Facebookand stating that he’s beginning to work out for “the next Expendables, [which is] gonna be great, fingers crossed! We’re gonna do our best and I think we’ve got some really great attitude going, some great ideas. I think everyone’s expecting something different and we’re gonna give it to ’em.”

At the moment, details on The Expendables 4 are scarce, but we can probably assume that Stallone will be involved with the script, and possibly even direct as he did with the first movie. As for casting, we should probably expect most,

Sylvester Stallone Says The Expendables 4 Is Going To Be “Something Different”

The Expendables 3 was once promised to be the last chapter in the franchise, but it seems that’s not the case anymore as we found out recently that The Expendables 4 is now a go. With production set to get underway soon, Sylvester Stallone has begun teasing it, and earlier this week, he told fans a little bit about what to expect from the upcoming sequel.

While on a plane flying (aka “slying”) to a Florida event, the actor said that he’s working out for the upcoming sequel, “fingers crossed,” which promises to return to the R-rated roots of the first two films.

We’re going to do our best… I think we got some really great attitude going. We got great ideas. I think everyone is expecting something different, and we’re going to give it to them.

Ultimately, Stallone is providing more reassurance than confidence that

Sylvester Stallone Says The Expendables 4 Will Give Us Something Different

Over the weekend, Sylvester Stallone posted a video on Facebook confirming that The Expendables 4 is happening, "fingers crossed," and then teased that they've come up with some great ideas and that they plan on giving fans something completely different. We have no idea what that will be, but we do know that the movie will be released in 2018 and that it will go back to an R-rating. When previously talking about the film Stallone said:

"I have actually entertained the idea of putting the group into such an unnatural environment that it, in an of itself, creates extra suspense and tension: the 'fish out of water' scenario. That environment might not be time travel, but nearly just as jarring."

We don't know which actors will be returning for the fourth installment yet, but I'm sure Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold SchwarzeneggerDolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture will all come back.

The Expendables 4 is Still Happening and It's Coming in 2018

In case you were wondering if Sylvester Stallone still planned on making The Expendables 4, the answer is yes. The news comes from THR, who reports that Splendid Film picked up the distribution rights to the film for Germany.

The Expendables 4 will be the final chapter in the franchise, and it is now targeting a 2018 release date. I think the Expendables movies have been a lot of fun to watch. Yeah, they have terrible stories and scripts, but it's fun seeing all those big action stars get together to blow shit up and beat the hell out of bad guys.

The last film that was released was rated PG-13, which Stallone himself said was a mistake. So, this next time around they will go back to the R-rating. He previously said:

"Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience,

Expendables 4 Is Coming in 2018, Will Be Final Sequel

Expendables 4 Is Coming in 2018, Will Be Final Sequel
It's been over two years since Lionsgate released The Expendables 3, and since then, we've heard a number of different reports about the next follow-up, The Expendables 4. One report even claimed that legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao was being eyed to star in the sequel, but Sylvester Stallone shot down those rumors. Still, it's been quite some time since there has been any updates. Now, the movie is confirmed to be moving forward, with foreign distributor Splendid Film picking up the distribution rights across all of German-speaking Europe, with a release date slated for sometime in 2018. It will be the final sequel for this action franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the German distributor previously distributed the first three Expendables movies, which have earned roughly $30 million combined at the German box office. Even with a German distributor secured, it hasn't been confirmed if Lionsgate will distribute this franchise-ending sequel domestically,
