‘Deadpool 2’ Teaser Trailer Offers First Footage and Bob Ross-Style Painting Lesson

‘Deadpool 2’ Teaser Trailer Offers First Footage and Bob Ross-Style Painting Lesson
Ryan Reynolds takes a turn into the surreal in a teaser trailer for “Deadpool 2,” offering mostly tips on how to paint — intercut with a few brief action scenes.

Deadpool imitates Bob Ross, the late artist from PBS’ instructional show “The Joy of Painting” who provided extensive detail about what he was painting, in a video titled “Wet on Wet.” At one point, Deadpool explains that he’s painting trees, then adds, “What you don’t want to do is eat these — trust me on this.”

About halfway through, however, several characters appear briefly in a violence-laden montage from the actual movie — Josh Brolin’s Cable, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (played by Brianna Hildebrand), and Blind Al (Leslie Uggams). Then the trailer returns to the painting instructional with Reynolds concluding, “Hugs not drugs.”

Reynolds is also a producer on the films with “Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning, along with Drew Goddard assisting. “John Wick” co-director

New Deadpool 2 Teaser Trailer Reveals First Footage

New Deadpool 2 Teaser Trailer Reveals First Footage
'I love the smell of turpentine in the morning.' 20th Century Fox has dropped the first teaser trailer for Deadpool 2, and it's pretty crazy. There is some new footage. But for the most part, this two minute video is a parody of Bob Ross painting videos. There is also a synopsis, which doesn't actually tell you anything about the movie.

"After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

First Deadpool 2 Poster Celebrates Thanksgiving

The Merc with a Mouth is getting into the holiday spirit, as 20th Century Fox has released the first poster (seen in the gallery below) for Deadpool 2 today and it sees the titular hero celebrating Thanksgiving with a number of familiar faces.

Cable, Domino, Weasel and several others are all present here, having a good time and enjoying each other’s company as Wade Wilson prepares to serve some turkey. This brand new one-sheet may not reveal anything at all about the plot of the film, but it’s a cheeky way to remind fans that the highly anticipated sequel is on the way and certainly follows in suit with what we’d expect from the pic’s marketing campaign.

Not only that, but with the promotional gears now turning, it looks like we may not have to wait too much longer for the first official trailer to drop.

Halloween 2017: “Why Horror?” Double Feature – Digging Up The Marrow and The Cabin In The Woods

  • DailyDead
[To get you into the spooky spirit, the Daily Dead team is spotlighting double features that we think would be fun to watch this Halloween season. Check here for more double feature recommendations and other Halloween 2017 coverage.]

As horror lovers, we tend to spend most of October drowning ourselves in our favorite movies (even more than the rest of the year), revisiting those titles that remind us of the season or which have become an annual tradition. Never is this more true than on Halloween night, when so many of us have our go-to titles without which the holiday wouldn’t be complete: “It’s not Halloween unless I watch The Exorcist,” or “It’s not Halloween unless I watch the remake of The Fog!” Some of you are weird.

I get it. I don’t have any hard and fast rules about what I watch every Halloween, but I always make it a point to watch something. And while I know many of you will turn to the original Halloween or Trick ’r Treat or even Night of the Demons, I want to offer an alternative

Ominous Teasers For The New Mutants Continue To Big Up The Film’s Horror Element

Now that Hugh Jackman has bid farewell to the X-Men franchise and Wolverine, 20th Century Fox is slowly gearing up for a brand new chapter in its elaborate mutant saga. Out with the old and in with the new, as the old saying goes.

It’s a venture that will see the launch of an X-23 spinoff under James Mangold and Craig Kyle, the author behind Dafne Keen’s Laura, along with a Drew Goddard-directed X-Force movie. Filming on that one is expected to commence late next year – or early 2019, as Josh Brolin cautioned – by which point Fox will have launched three high-profile tentpoles onto the big screen: Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and The New Mutants.

Out of that tantalizing trio, The New Mutants has caught our eye for its bold horror elements, not to mention the A-list cast of up-and-coming talent. Both were on full display during that unnerving first trailer,

Don’t Expect To Learn Much About Cable In Deadpool 2

2018’s Deadpool 2 isn’t just a sequel to last year’s surprise hit R-rated movie starring the Merc with a Mouth. It’s also setting the stage for an upcoming X-Force film – based around the team of militant mutant heroes led by Cable. Josh Brolin will be stepping into the shoes of the time-travelling cyborg for the franchise and has now dished out some new details on both Wade Wilson’s next big screen outing and the aforementioned X-Force.

First off, he discussed how Deadpool 2 will clearly sow the seeds for more from Cable in the future. The main way it will do this is apparently through keeping a lot about the character a mystery, leaving X-Force to really get to grips with him.

“I think we’re not trying to hide the fact that this is the beginning of Cable and absolutely not the end. I think

Cable Actor Josh Brolin Says Deadpool 2 Packs A “Ton Of Action”

Barring the clichéd story of one costumed crusader rushing to save the damsel in distress, Tim Miller’s Deadpool movie was, for many, a gleefully profane introduction to the Merc With a Mouth, and the film’s impressive $783 million box office haul meant 20th Century Fox wasted no time in greenlighting a sequel. And so, we stand on the verge of Deadpool 2.

Gone is Tim Miller, who parted ways with Fox in order to helm a sixth instalment in The Terminator franchise. In his stead, the studio turned to David Leitch, director of John Wick: Chapter 2 and Atomic Blonde, a potent cocktail of Cold War espionage and kick-ass fight scenes.

It’s an exciting addition to the team, then, and while discussing the role of Cable (Aka Nathan Summers) in a recent interview with Collider, Infinity War‘s Josh Brolin drew attention to David Leitch and his action sensibilities.

Drew Goddard to write and produce Nevermoor adaptation

THR is reporting that Oscar-nominated writer Drew Goddard (The Martian) has signed on to direct the upcoming fantasy book Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow from author Jessica Townsend, which is set for publication later this year.

The official Amazon description for the book reads:

“Morrigan Crow is cursed. Having been born on Eventide, the unluckiest day for any child to be born, she’s blamed for all local misfortunes, from hailstorms to heart attacks–and, worst of all, the curse means that Morrigan is doomed to die at midnight on her eleventh birthday.

“But as Morrigan awaits her fate, a strange and remarkable man named Jupiter North appears. Chased by black-smoke hounds and shadowy hunters on horseback, he whisks her away into the safety of a secret, magical city called Nevermoor.

“It’s then that Morrigan discovers Jupiter has chosen her to contend for a place in the city
