Deadline reports Russell Simmons has been removed from the upcoming HBO TV show All Def Comedy amid allegations of sexual assault.Simmons has had a long-standing relationship with HBO since the network first debuted his series Def Comedy Jam in 1992. Robert A. Heinlein's seminal sci-fi novel Starship Troopers first came to life on the big screen nearly 20 years ago, and now the bugs are coming back in Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, a new CG sequel that features franchise favorites Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer, who return to voice Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores, respectively.

The trailer for the animated movie sequel Starship Troopers: Traitor Of Mars has landed online ahead of its Stateside theatrical release later this summer. The film is an all-new CG animated sequel of the 1997 cult classic Starship Troopers, and comes to the scree from the writer of the original movie and Robocop, Ed Neumeier.

Johnny Rico has just been demoted and sent to a small satellite station on Mars whilst the Federation attacks the bugs’ home planet. While trying to train his new recruits on this remote quiet station, the bugs show up in a surprise attack but the Federation’s Fleet is too far away to help. It’s up to Rico and his Troopers to save the planet and uncover how the bugs made it so close to home.

Traitor of Mars Trailer: Starship Troopers Gets an Animated Sequel
A proper Starship Troopers sequel is on the way, and you can see it in theaters during a one-night-only special event later this year. Would you like to know more? Sure you would. Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, a feature-length CGI animated sequel, is going to arrive in select theaters on August 21 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the original Starship Troopers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures is teaming with Fathom Events to bring the Starship Troopers sequel to theaters. The event will take place in roughly 500 theaters across the country, with 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. showings available in each market. There will also be interviews with the filmmakers and behind-the-scenes footage included in each screening.

The rapper and actor executive produces VH1’s reality competition series Hip Hop Squares, which brings together the biggest names in hip hop, comedy and entertainment as they put their pop knowledge of pop culture and hip hop to the test.

“Once we started booking the artists I knew we were going to have a hot show because you’re getting all of these different personalities in the room and letting them be themselves and play a game of tic-tac-toe,” Ice Cube, 47, tells People of the show’s success.

‘Hip Hop Squares’ Renewed as VH1 Rides Ratings Momentum
Hip Hop Squares” has been renewed for second season at VH1. The show from Ice Cube’s production banner delivered VH1’s highest-rated premiere in more than a year in its March 13 bow.
