Mark Millar teases a big Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl announcement

Comic book writer Mark Millar has taken to Twitter to tease a big announcement concerning the characters of Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, complete with an image of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz in character.

Right, this brilliance won't write itself. Time to help get a press release together for the big Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl news next week… pic.twitter.com/Z2hxrTgt4B

Mark Millar (@mrmarkmillar) November 9, 2017

Naturally, the assumption here is that we could be getting a third instalment of the movie series, which was originally planned before Kick-Ass 2 opened to mixed reviews and an underwhelming box office back in 2013.

Millar has recently sold his company Millarworld to Netflix, so it’s possible that the streaming giant could be looking to produce a new movie or TV adaptation. However, as Millar states, we should get an official announcement this coming week.

Are Kick-Ass 3 And A Hit Girl Spinoff Coming To Netflix?

Despite positive reviews and a decent box office take for 2010’s Kick-Ass, the once-burgeoning film franchise appears to be on the backburner following the 2013 sequel, which was met with far less praise and diminished box office returns.

Original director Matthew Vaughn has been keen on more follow-ups though and even spoke about doing a prequel focused on Chloe Grace Moretz’s Hit-Girl and Nicolas Cage’s Big Daddy, but additional tales about the hyper-violent street-level superheroes have hardly seemed likely, especially with stars Grace Moretz and Aaron Taylor-Johnson growing older and moving on to other film properties.

However, there still may be hope. Chalk this up as speculation for now, but we do have reason to believe that both a Kick-Ass 3 and a spinoff movie featuring Hit-Girl may be on their way to Netflix. Why do we think that? Well, as you surely know by now, Mark Millar (who created

Kick-Ass 3 and Hit-Girl Movie Coming to Netflix?
It looks like we may be getting Kick-Ass 3 after all. And it looks like the movie could be heading to Netflix. While there's no official announcement yet, Mark Millar, who recently sold his company Millarworld to Netflix, is teasing an announcement related to Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl. While he couldn't say what's happening at the moment, it seems pretty likely that a new Kick-Ass movie is in the cards, and we could be getting that long rumored standalone Hit-Girl movie as well.

When the announcement that Millarworld and all of its properties had been sold to Netflix, it was pretty clear that Kingsman and Kick-Ass weren't part of the deal. Or, at least it seemed that way. Fox seems to be pretty happy with Kingsman, but Lionsgate has been sitting on Kick-Ass ever since Kick-Ass 2 failed to meet expectations at the box office in 2013. Could it be that Netflix and

Sam Taylor-Johnson to direct Aaron Taylor-Johnson in A Million Little Pieces

Variety is reporting that Sam Taylor-Johnson is set to direct her husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson in a feature adaptation of James Frey’s book A Million Little Pieces.

Originally published as a memoir telling the story of Frey’s rehabilitation from drug and alcohol abuse, the author subsequently admitted on The Oprah Winfrey Show that he had fabricated much of the story following an expose article on The Smoking Gun.

The book was originally optioned by Warner Bros., who decided to shelve the adaptation following the controversy over its authenticity. However, the Taylor-Johnsons reportedly still feel that there is appeal in the story of a man’s road to recovery.

A Million Little Pieces will mark the second collaboration between the two following Nowhere Boy, a biopic of a young John Lennon. Sam Taylor-Johnson recently helmed episodes of the Netflix series Gypsy, while Aaron Taylor-Johnson is currently filming David Mackenzie’s Outlaw King.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is bringing another controversial, best-selling book to the big screen. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” director is working on an adaptation of James Frey’s “A Million Little Pieces,” The Hollywood Reporter confirms. She’s collaborating on the project with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, her husband and the star of her 2009 feature debut, “Nowhere Boy.” She’ll direct and he’ll topline the film.

The literary sensation, originally touted as a memoir, follows Frey’s account of addiction, rehab, and sobriety.

“The 2003 book was once one of the hottest properties in town but became radioactive after Frey was exposed for inventing or embellishing parts of the story,” THR details. Before Frey’s lies and exaggerations were revealed, Warner secured the rights to the story in a bidding war, but “CAA has been negotiating the release of the rights from Warners, and the package is expected to be launched at the upcoming American Film Market.”

Taylor-Johnson most recently directed episodes of Netflix’s “Gypsy,” starring two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts. The drama about a psychotherapist with boundary issues was cancelled after one season.

Fifty Shades of Grey” is one of the highest-grossing films ever directed by a woman. The Bdsm romance took home over $571 million worldwide.

X-Men 7 and Captain Marvel Will Share the Skrulls as Villains?
The Skrulls aren't coming quietly. It was previously announced that the Skrulls will be the main villains in Captain Marvel, with Brie Larson's title character fighting off the intergalactic threat. A new report has surfaced that X-Men: Dark Phoenix will also be using the same villains.

The Marvel universe has no shortage of dastardly aliens that it can pit its superheroes against. But nothing quite compares to the Skrulls. They are perhaps the most notorious of outer space bad guys, who haven't shown up on screen thus far. But that's about to change in a substantial way.

X-Men 7 is planning to use the Skrulls in one key action set piece that will apparently steal the show. The scene takes place at a Un building where Professor X, played by the returning James McAvoy, will be giving a heartfelt speech on Mutants. He will be joined there by Michael Fassbender

Review: The Wall (2017)

There was a lot that put me off The Wall (2017). For one, I’m not a big fan of war films – they’re just not my cup of tea. Secondly, despite the fact that wrestlers are apparently good actors now – hello Dave Bautista – I’m biased against wrestlers actually being actors after I came to the conclusion that Dwayne Johnson was basically playing the same role in every film he was in. (Dave, if you’re reading this, this doesn’t apply to you. You are a wonderful actor). Even John Cena who, truth be told, actually played a really good part in the Amy Schumer fronted rom-com Trainwreck (2015), drew my ire – and I can’t actually remember seeing him as a wrestler! And Aaron Taylor-Johnson? He’s not a bad actor, by any means, but he’s just never done anything that really impressed me. And yet, despite all

The 2003 book was once one of the hottest properties in town but became radioactive after Frey was exposed for inventing or embellishing parts of the story that was originally dubbed a memoir. Warner Bros. won the book in a bidding war in 2003 and set it up with producer Brad Pitt and his then-Plan B partners Jennifer Aniston and Brad Grey. Frey wrote the first version of the screenplay.
