Longmire: Renewed For Sixth and Final Season on Netflix

  • TVfanatic
Longmire will get a proper sendoff.

Netflix announced today a sixth and final season for the series based on the Walt Longmire series of books by Craig Johnson.

The final season will consist of 10 episodes and air sometime in 2017.

First airing on A&E, the series was off the air quite a while as long-time fans sent angry messages about pulling the show.

Longmire was getting decent ratings when it last aired on a traditional cable network, and fans voices went unheard.

Or so they thought.

That's where Netflix came in and saved that day. It was the success of Longmire on Netflix and being saved from destruction that has helped so many fans make the appeal to Netflix when their now-favorite shows are on the chopping block.

What they have to remember, however, is that Longmire came with the goods: cast, writing, viewers were all well above standard.

Grimmfest 2013 Review: ‘Curse of Chucky’

Stars: Brad Dourif, Fiona Dourif, A. Martinez, Danielle Bisutti, Maitland McConnell, Brennan Elliott, Chantal Quesnelle | Written and Directed by Don Mancini

It’s been twenty-five years since Charles Lee Ray first possessed a Good Guy doll in a Chicago toy store whilst on the run from the cops and in that time we’ve had a further four Child’s Play movies – the last almost ten years ago (has it really been that long?) – each of which has successively watered down the creepy tale of Chucky, taking the series from its tongue-in-cheek slasher beginnings to a mocking parody of its very own franchise. Thankfully Curse of Chucky, from series creator Don Mancini, returns to the “fun and fear” formula which made the original film such a success.

This time round we’re introduced to wheelchair-bound Nica who one day receives an anonymous present – an unusual-looking, red-haired doll who is immediately

First Clip For ‘Curse Of Chucky’

The first clip has been released for horror sequel Curse Of Chucky, the sixth film to star the titular pint-sized slasher. First appearing in the legendary 1988 film ‘Child’s Play’, Chucky is a doll, firmly in the uncanny valley, that happens to contain the soul of a murderer thanks to the wonders of dark magic.

Whereas the two latest entries to the series (Bride Of Chucky and Seed Of Chucky) were more comedic, Curse Of Chucky looks to be going back to the killer toy’s horror roots. Brad Dourif is back once again to provide Chucky’s voice and is joined by a cast incuding his daughter Fiona Dourif (True Blood), A. Martinez (Longmire), Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott. Don Mancini, who wrote every entry in the series, returns for Curse as both writer and director.

Curse Of Chucky will premiere on Blu-ray and DVD on 8th October. Get
