Victoria Justice’s New MTV Thriller ‘Eye Candy’ Ordered To Series

The network that currently serves us tasty treats like ‘Awkward’ and ‘Teen Wolf’ will play host to Victoria’s big return to TV.

Justice is about to be served at MTV – Victoria Justice, that is! My horrible pun aside, MTV has officially picked up Victoria’s new series Eye Candy for 10 episodes, and although a premiere date hasn’t been set, we’re already making room for the former Victorious star’s cyber drama on our DVRs.

Based on the novel by R.L. Stine – yes, the same R.L. Stine that gave us Goosebumps back in the ’90s – Eye Candy follows a tech-head named Lindy (Victoria), who believes one of her potential online dating companions is actually a murderous cyber stalker. This, of course, leads Lindy and her hacker pals on a quest to stop a deadly serial killer.

The cast of Eye Candy also includes Olesya Rulin (High School Musical

Flight

Directed by Robert Zemeckis

Written by John Gatins

2012, USA

Premiering at the closing night of the New York Film Festival, Robert Zemeckis dives back into live-action filmmaking from a twelve year motion capture hiatus with Flight. An audacious, well-matured character ensemble piece about a man whose most heroic venture may have resulted from his most innate pitfall, this provocative drama gives Denzel Washington one of the most layered and conflicting characters of his career. The Paramount release will be a gripping arrival on November 2 for audiences, proving to be the thought-provoking robust taste many will crave by year’s end.

From the film’s very raw beginning, we are introduced to commercial airline pilot Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washngton), a middle-aged man who knows how to live life large as well as the ropes to piloting. We meet Whip lying in bed at seven o-clock in Orlando from an alcohol induced coma,

50th New York Film Festival Review: ‘Flight’

  • LRM Online
Robert Zemeckis’ first live action film in over a decade, closes the 50th New York Film Festival, and features another Oscar worthy performance from Denzel Washington.

Robert Zemeckis may have spent over a decade, fine tuning the motion capture process for cinema, but the director’s forte is still live action filmmaking. Audiences tend to identify more with characters played by flesh and blood actors, like Academy Award winner Denzel Washington in Zemeckis’ Flight, a tale of substance abuse and emotional disconnect wrapped within an investigation into an airline crash. Throughout their careers, both director and star have demonstrated an attraction to stories that examine the human condition. So it comes as a bit of a surprise that Zemeckis hasn’t collaborated with Washington sooner, helming three phenomenally successful films starring the actor’s Philadelphia co-star Tom Hanks instead.

Promotion for Flight suggests that the film is a daring rescue story,

Coaching Actors for the Long Term

  • Backstage
"The worst quote in the world is, 'Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach,'" contends Lisina Stoneburner, the founder and co-owner of Atlanta's The Company Acting Studio. "Because even though you can book a job and you can work doesn't necessarily mean that you can pass on that information and inspire somebody else to do it."Since 1996, Stoneburner and The Company Acting Studio have been teaching and coaching — and inspiring — children and adults to act in theatre, film, and television with a remarkable rate of success. Her students have been cast in projects in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast, as well as Hollywood and Broadway.*************Growing up in New York, Stoneburner had show business in her blood. Her aunt, Dinah Manoff, won a Tony Award for Neil Simon's I Ought to Be in Pictures on Broadway and later starred in the television series Empty Nest. Her grandfather
