Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Teaser Locks In June Premiere Date

For the third year on the trot, Netflix’s female-fronted prison drama series Orange is the New Black recently collected the coveted SAG Award for Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and for those of you who tuned in for the show’s excellent fourth season, you’ll know Oitnb was deserving of such an accolade.

Thankfully, it won’t be too much longer before the ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary return to Netflix, as the online streamer has officially locked in a June 9th premiere date for season 5, keeping up the show’s signature early summer release window. Film Review: ‘Jean of the Joneses’

Film Review: ‘Jean of the Joneses’
The messy lives of young aspiring writers and the dysfunctional families that spawned them have long provided fertile if inevitably over-tilled material for many an independent filmmaker. If “Jean of the Joneses” feels fresher than most multigenerational ensemble dramedies, credit not only the relative novelty of an all-black, mostly female cast, but also writer-director Stella Meghie’s talent for suggesting the invisible bonds that unite her characters, despite their many disagreements and (in some cases) general disagreeability. Inspired by her own family life though not strictly autobiographical, Meghie’s endearingly acerbic debut feature is a work of modest ambition and commercial outlook, but that modesty proves intrinsic to its appeal, which deserves to be discovered at more stops along the festival circuit following its SXSW premiere.

Jean Jones (Taylour Paige), the 25-year-old Jamaican-American woman who lends the film its playfully arch title, has been hailed in some literary circles as

The story follows a shy teenage punk rocker in 1970s suburban London, and his two closest friends. One night they all sneak into a party where they meet a group of intensely attractive, otherworldly girls; at first they think they're from a cult, but eventually come to realize the girls are literally aliens with nefarious plans. 'Oitnb's' Yael Stone on the 'bizarre' reactions to Morello's unsettling Season 2 arc
Los Angeles - Spoiler Alert: If you have yet to watch "Orange is the New Black" Season 2, proceed at your own risk. A major plotline is discussed in some detail. Now then. The Morello storyline. What a storyline. Not only did these episodes feature some superb writing, Yael Stone's performance was flawless and deeply affecting. By the end of it all I found myself feeling protective of Lorna, even as her dangerously obsessive behavior was laid mercilessly bare.  "I guess that means my job has been done," said Stone when I caught up with her at the Emmys on Sunday. Indeed, Morello's Season 2 arc connected so strongly with some viewers that the actress said she's heard several of them voice their anger at Christopher (a.k.a. Not Lorna's fiancee) for being "mean" to her in that unsettling visitation room scene. Stone found this rather perplexing. "The reaction is completely bizarre,

Orange Is The New Black Season One DVD Review

Creator: Jenji Kohan

Starring: Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Jason Biggs, Kate Mulgrew, Michelle Hurst, Michael J. Harney, Natasha Lyonne.

Running Time: 700 minutes.

Extras: Gag Reel, 2 x Producer Commentaries, 4 x Featurettes ‘New Kid On The Cell Block’, ‘It’s Tribal’, ‘Mother Hen: Red Runs The Coop’ And ‘Prison Rules’.

Do we have to introduce Orange Is The New Black? The Netflix smash about everyone’s favourite federal correction facility is now making its way to DVD.

Jenji Kohan, known for creating Showtime’s Weeds, had big shoes to fill once the show had finished. She might not fall too far from the tree where “middle class woman has secret drug mule life” is concerned, but it is still as incredible, and possibly even more addictive, than her first creation. There is something captivating about a show that does not rely on its protagonist to keep the show going. Taylor Schilling’s

Netflix Renews Orange Is The New Black For Third Season

Just over a month before the highly-anticipated second season premiere of Orange Is The New Black, Netflix has opted to renew the acclaimed prison dramedy for a third season.

This is the second early renewal for the show, from Weeds showrunner Jenji Kohan, which received a similar treatment shortly before the premiere of its record-breaking first season. The third season, which will likely premiere in 2015, is set to run for thirteen episodes, the same amount as Orange Is The New Black‘s first and second seasons.

Though the first season received surprisingly little awards attention (including a lone Golden Globe nomination for lead actress Taylor Schilling), it was widely hailed as one of the best shows of 2013. Here at We Got This Covered, we ranked it the year’s fourth best show, behind only Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. Orange Is The New Black was also a significant ratings success for Netflix,

Watch The New Trailer For Orange Is The New Black Season 2

It’s here! It’s finally here. The new trailer for Netflix’s hit series, Orange Is the New Black, hit the Internet today and teases a whole bunch of drama for season 2. While there has been a lot of drama leading up to the second season (is Laura Prepon returning? Who are the new inmates?) none of that matters now. All we care about is the first official look at the show, which promises to surpass the addictive nature of the debut season.

Taylor Schilling, Laverne Cox and Jason Biggs are all in the new trailer. Sadly though, it looks like Michelle Hurst aka Miss Claudette is nowhere to be seen. The actress was critically injured following a car accident late last year. We hope a quick recovery will allow her to eventually return to the series.

While everyone certainly looks fierce on the show, it’s their red
