Principal photography wraps on horror flick ‘Utero’

Writer/Director Bryan Coyne’s (Harvard Park, Incarnate) new horror film Utero has wrapped principal photography. Utero is a character-driven story that is structured in a similar fashion of the horror films of yesteryear, and follows an agoraphobic unwed mother, played by Jessica Cameron (pictured above on set), who finds her psyche unraveling as she becomes convinced that her unborn child is more monster than human.

Director/writer Coyne had this to say about the movie:

“Shooting Utero was a dream come true for me. Like any filmmaking experience it was a grandiose challenge. But the commitment of our crew and cast, a wonderful commune of pure artists, helped me achieve something astoundingly effective. I can’t wait for this film to be seen.”

Utero was shot in Los Angeles and independently financed by Coinopflix. Jonathan Higgins and Jessica Cameron (Truth or Dare) produced the film with former Platinum Studios

Exclusive: MoreHorror visits the set of horror film 'Utero'

  • MoreHorror
by Jonathan Weichsel, MoreHorror.com

On a dark and rainy day, I drove up the twisting Hollywood hills to visit the set of Utero, a new horror film produced by and starring Jessica Cameron, the queen of screams who dominated the festival circuit last year with a dementedly twisted game of truth or dare.

What I found when I got there was a passionate and energetic cast and crew fueled by energy drinks, energy shots, coffee, and energy bars. There was so much caffeine on set that it seemed to seep into the air so that I felt like I got a caffeine buzz just from breathing.

Of course, in reality my buzz didn't come from imaginary airborne caffeine, but from my close proximity to scream queen Jessica Cameron. Jessica was as beautiful as ever in her costume, a grey bathrobe covered in blood and green vomit. She has a
