Echoes a second source, “This whole process has been very hard on him. He’s been shaken up.”

James Franco Grabs Lunch with Friend Jeff Garlin Hours After Oscar Snub
James Franco isn’t letting his Oscar snub keep him down.

The actor was spotted grabbing lunch with friend Jeff Garlin in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Franco kept his head down as he left celebrity hotspot Jones on Third just hours after the nominations were announced.

He wore a baseball cap pulled over his head, a white shirt and jeans for the casual outing.

Despite being an awards season frontrunner, Franco failed to net a Best Actor Oscar nomination for The Disaster Artist, after winning a Golden Globe and Critics Choice award for his performance.

The film was however nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay.

Disaster Artist Oscar Snub Came as a Relief to James Franco?

Disaster Artist Oscar Snub Came as a Relief to James Franco?
James Franco not being recognized for his work in The Disaster Artist came as one of the biggest Oscar snubs yesterday. But a new report claims that the actor is relieved he didn't get nominated. The actor was overlooked in the Best Actor category. And many in the industry believed it's because of the sexual misconduct accusations that broke after the actor won his Golden Globes award. There's also the fact that he's playing a character from one of the worst movies of all time, and essentially mimicking that persona, which some claim was a turn off for Oscar voters.

Many believed that James Franco was the top contender for Oscar glory this coming March at the 90th Academy Awards. And it was shocking, but not too surprising, that he wasn't mentioned as the nominations were read aloud Tuesday morning. The actor also directed The Disaster Artist, and went unnoticed in that category too.

We're guessing the sexual assault allegations against Franco also came up over the meal,

2018 PGA Awards: All the nominees in the 3 film and 9 TV categories for Producers Guild of America prizes

The Producers Guild of America hands out its awards on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. That is the night before the Screen Actors Guild does the same. Unlike, the latter, which will air on TNT and TBS, the PGA ceremony is not televised. However, it is an equally important stop on the road to the Oscars.

The PGA Awards has an enviable track record at presaging the eventual Best Picture winner at the Academy Awards. The guild and the academy have agreed on 19 of the most recent 28 Best Picture champs. Last year, all nine Oscar nominees for Best Picture numbered among the 10 PGA contenders; only “Deadpool” was snubbed by the academy. The PGA prize went to “La La Land” while the Oscar was (eventually) won by “Moonlight.”

SAG Awards predictions secret: Size matters for comedies like ‘Orange is the New Black,’ ‘Glee,’ ‘Desperate Housewives’ …
When it comes to rewarding the best comedic cast on television, the SAG Awards often simply go with the biggest cast. Recent winners like “Orange is the New Black” (2014-2016), “Glee” (2009), “Desperate Housewives” (2004-2005) and “Ally McBeal” (1998) all prevailed thanks in part to having the most cast members on the voting ballot. Interestingly enough, all four of these were also hour-long dramedies, which suggests SAG voters are more apt to give the prize to large casts when they’re also in large productions.

What does this statistic mean in terms of predicting the 2018 SAG Awards? “Orange is the New Black” once again boasts the biggest comedy cast with a record-setting 45 men and women nominated for the Netflix prison series. That’s up from 37 cast members in 2016, 34 in 2015, and 40 in 2014. Of this year’s other nominated ensembles, Netflix’s “Glow” consists of 18 cast members, followed by HBO’s “Veep” at 15, ABC

Cheryl Hines feels “liberated” by her return to Curb Your Enthusiasm

Curb Your Enthusiasm is back and actress Cheryl Hines feels “liberated” to have returned to the show.

Hines, who plays Larry David’s now ex-wife on the show, has built up a fair bit of history with the fictional Larry over the years, and the show’s return this week showed the two of them still floating in the same circles, despite Cheryl’s continued frustrations with her ex.

She isn’t alone in her anguish of course and the actress revealed that part of her wishes the two could still be together.

“I miss being married to Larry,” Hines revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, “There is a world in which I think we belong together.”
