Sharon Jones Dies After Battle With Pancreatic Cancer
Singer Sharon Jones died after a long battle against pancreatic cancer on Friday. She was 60.

According to a statement to Et, the singer "was surrounded by loved ones, including the Dap-Kings."

Jones first began singing in church and school, before performing professionally as a wedding singer in the 1970s. The bulk of Jones' success, however, came three decades later, after starting her band, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. The band released its debut album, Dap Dippin' With Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, to immediate attention and critical acclaim in 2002, and quickly released three more albums, Naturally (2005), 100 Days, 100 Nights (2007) and I Learned the Hard Way (2010).

Gwen Ifill, a co-host of the long-running PBS NewsHour and a noted debate moderator, has died following a battle with cancer. She was 61.

"It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must share that our dear friend and beloved colleague Gwen Ifill passed away this afternoon following several months of cancer treatment," a statement from PBS NewsHour read. "She was surrounded by loving family and many friends whom we ask that you keep in your thoughts and prayers."

Robert Vaughn, Suave 'Man From U.N.C.L.E.,' Is Dead at 83
New York -- Robert Vaughn, the debonair, Oscar-nominated actor whose many film roles were eclipsed by his hugely popular turn in television’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E., has died. He was 83.

Vaughn died Friday morning after a brief battle with acute leukemia, according to his manager, Matthew Sullivan.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was an immediate hit, particularly with young people, when it debuted on NBC 1964. It was part of an avalanche of secret agent shows (I Spy, Mission: Impossible, Secret Agent), spoofs (Get Smart), books (The Spy Who Came in From the Cold) and even songs (Secret Agent Man) inspired by the James Bond films.

Vaughn’s urbane superspy Napoleon Solo teamed with Scottish actor David McCallum’s Illya Kuryakin, a soft-spoken, Russian-born agent.

Singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has died, his record label, Sony Music Canada, confirmed on Thursday. He was 82.

"It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away," read a post on Cohen's Facebook page.
