Bella Thorne Opens Up About Getting Backlash on Social Media: 'You Really Can't Win'

Bella Thorne Opens Up About Getting Backlash on Social Media: 'You Really Can't Win'
Bella Thorne‘s new movie Assassination Nation is a dark comedy that explores privacy and mob mentality in the age of social media — something with which the actress/singer is personally familiar.

She recently caught fire from critics on social media when she wrote on Twitter that a Los Angeles highway was shut down, causing her to miss her boyfriend’s concert. Rob Lowe later called her out for complaining about the relatively minor inconvenience, as the highway was shut down due to the deadly Southern California mudslides.

Thorne deleted her original tweet, apologized and explained, “F—- just caught

Sundance Film Review: ‘Assassination Nation’

Three centuries ago in Salem, Mass., rumors got 20 residents killed. Imagine if the mob had Twitter. Sam Levinson’s furious fempowerment thriller “Assassination Nation” stars four high school girls in a present-day, parallel-universe Salem forced to grab guns after an anonymous hacker exposes all of the town’s dirt. Midnight audiences started whooping at the opening trigger warning that they were about to see sexism, racism, torture, violence, and fragile male egos, but the actual film feels like a Molotov cocktail thrown at a hazy target. Levinson’s battling more villains than any script can take on, and by the end, his sharp jabs bleed into a gory finale that settles for cathartic cheers.

Lily (Odessa Young) is 18 and she has a secret. The popular beauty is cheating on her boyfriend (Bill Skårsgard, minus the “It” makeup) by sending sexy selfies to married father Nick (Joel McHale) next door. It’s not that easy — in one scene

Teaser Trailer for Crazy Sundance Midnight Film 'Assassination Nation'

"Something is going down in Salem..." This is going to be wild. A teaser trailer has debuted for a film titled Assassination Nation, premiering at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival at Midnight tonight. This is the film that hooked me based on its very short, weird single-sentence synopsis that it's a "1000% true story" about "how the quiet, all-American town of Salem, absolutely lost its mind." We all know Salem is where the infamous witch hunt took places in the 1800s, but this one is set in modern times, with the freaky concept of: what if all of our text messages and photos and everything were released to the public for anyone to see. The cast of rowdy youngsters includes Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, Kelvin Harrison Jr., with Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, and Bella Thorne. This is a wild trailer and doesn't reveal much,

Two Action Shots For Fear The Walking Dead Reveal The Crossover We’ve All Been Waiting For

Morgan Jones is headed for uncharted territory.

True to their initial promise, AMC is taking two of its biggest TV properties – namely The Walking Dead and its ongoing companion series, Fear The Walking Dead – and weaving them together for the very first time.

Each series has always existed in the same post-apocalyptic universe, of course, but when Ftwd shuffles back onto the small screen for its fourth season, it’ll open its undead arms to Morgan James, the fan-favorite survivor brought to life by industry veteran Lennie James.

He’s been a fixture of The Walking Dead from the very beginning, so we can’t imagine another character better suited to AMC’s long-awaited crossover. And thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have an early peek at what’s to come:
