So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Who Was Eliminated From the Top 7?
While many of us enjoyed the final hours of a three-day weekend, the remaining So You Think You Can Dance contestants worked overtime for the Fox series’ Labor Day installment.

And oh, what an episode it was. There were tears, courtesy of Mary Murphy. There was an overuse of the word “stupendous,” courtesy of Vanessa Hudgens. And there was some infuriating favoritism of one particular couple, courtesy of Cat Deeley.

All that, and a genuinely shocking elimination — at least for this recapper, who did not see it coming.

Read on for a breakdown of Monday’s performances with the All-

So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Missed Connections

So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Missed Connections
This week’s So You Think You Can Dance practically deserved its own post on Craigslist.

You were the All-Star wearing beige who kept gesticulating wildly with your arms… I was the Team Stage dancer trying to keep my head above water in a complicated routine… You were Medusa, and how the heck am I supposed to make that work?

Yes, I’m exaggerating a wee bit, and no, I am not Michael Slezak. (More on that in a moment.) But the gulf that existed between some of this season’s Top 8 and their All-Star partners was considerable as the week’s routines unfolded,

“Turn down these voices inside my head,” requested Bonnie Raitt, in her epic 1991 hit “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

That’s not a bad philosophy, as it turns out, for watching So You Think You Can Dance — still breathtaking in Season 12, and yet also unflinchingly manipulative in its pre-performance packages, judges’ comments and even post-dance interview soundbites.

Congratulations go out to Jesse Tyler Ferguson!

The "Modern Family" star married his longtime love Justin Mikita in New York City on Saturday (July 20), Ferguson's rep confirms to People, adding that playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner officiated the ceremony. The Emmy nominee, 37, who plays lawyer Mitchell Pritchett on the hit ABC comedy, got engaged to real-life lawyer Mikita, 27, in Mexico last year after nearly two years of dating.

According to Us Weekly, the pair had over 200 guests at their reception, including Ferguson's co-stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burell and Eric Stonestreet, as well as pals Jerry O' Connell, Rebecca Romijn, Zachary Quinto, Isaac Mizrahi, Arnold Germer, Nigel Barker, Cat Deely, Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, and Padma Lakshmi. The couple celebrated their nuptials at the 82 Mercer space, which was organized by planner, Bryan Rafanelli.

It's a big day for Jesse Tyler Ferguson as the "Modern Family" actor has wed fiance Justin Mikita.

Ferguson and Mikita tied the knot on Saturday (July 20) in Manhattan, Us Weekly confirms. After nearly two years of dating, Ferguson proposed to Mikita, a lawyer, in Mexico in Sept. 2012. In March, he revealed to the magazine just why the couple had chosen New York for their nuptials. "We wanted to get married in New York, because that's where it's legal, so we want to support the state that's in support of us," he said.

The pair have co-designed the "Tie The Knot" bow tie collection,

“So You Think You Can Dance” Top 18: Bollywood, Bellhops, And Boys

Before we begin, an urgent concern: Should we be thrilled or a little depressed that Christina Applegate ranks among the best Sytycd guest judges? Yeah, she’s not flawless — she’s a little cloying in her abject praise and teary-eyed awe — but the woman knows her vocabulary, connects individually with contestants, wears a Mexi-print top like your favorite aunt, remembers past routines without hesitation, and doesn’t mind being critical. Can’t say the same about Kenny Ortega, y’all. And he directed High School Musical 3 and Hocus Pocus, those true choreographed miracles.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: There are too many damn contestants at this stage of the game. I can’t separate my Jades from my Jennas, my Mariahs from my Maleces. They’re all twirling, hard-smiling pageant droids to me right now, and you know what? It’s too damn hot out to remember everyone.

'So You Think You Can Dance': Nigel Lythgoe claims BluPrint 'didn't grow up in a jungle'

Supercringe! Nigel Lythgoe’s general buffoonery can make for some pretty awkward critiques on Sytycd, but tonight he outdid himself while raving about Dorian “BluPrint” Hector’s prowess in an Afro Jazz routine. “People say, ‘This is your ethnicity, your heritage.’ But it isn’t! You didn’t grow up in a jungle!” the old white man exclaimed to the young black dancer. Say what?! At least BluPrint (pictured, center) put on a brave grin following the comment. As you can see, host Cat Deeley took a bit longer for her “Wtf, man?” face to catch up to the contestant’s.

“So You Think You Can Dance” Vegas Round: Rad Sonya

The dancers try their hardest, but choreographer Sonya Tayeh has some words of encouragement: Try harder or die.

So You Think You Can Dance‘s Vegas rounds give us roughly the same amount of drama as American Idol‘s Hollywood week, but the stakes are actually higher because everyone in Vegas is extraordinary in at least one form of dance. On Idol, there’s always a chance some moron who squawked an Ok version of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” won a ticket to Hollywood, you know? On Sytycd, everyone is an astounding talent — which is why it’s sort of disappointing when unqualified guest judges like Hannah Simone from New Girl and Jason Derulo of “JaSON DeruloooOOooOO” fame get a say in the proceedings. Simone was honestly introduced as “a dance enthusiast.” It would’ve been more bad-ass if she were “an anti-dance curmudgeon” or something more threatening.

'Bones' video: Dancing takes center-stage in 'The Diamond in the Rough'

"Bones" will return from its winter hiatus with a bang. Not a literal bang, of course (probably, unless there's a murder victim who gets shot), but figuratively speaking the return will represent a big night for the show. There will be two episodes -- "The Diamond in the Rough" and "The Archaeologist in the Cocoon" -- aired back-to-back on Monday (Jan. 7).

What can we expect? A video promoting the episodes may have some clues.

Granted, the video does focus primarily on the first of the two episodes, "The Diamond in the Rough." In this episode, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) head undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw! -- to a dance competition in order to find their murderer. Guest stars from the real dance competition world (including Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, Dmitry Chaplin and Eliana Girard of "So You Think You Can Dance" will appear) help make

'Bones' preview: Booth and Brennan think they can dance in 'The Diamond in the Rough'

Cross-show synergy. That's what it's all about these days. It makes sense then that "Bones" would team up with "So You Think You Can Dance" when the Jeffersonian team has to go undercover in order to solve a murder.

But can the detectives dance? Photos released from the episode indicate that they may indeed have some skills on the dance floor.

In "The Diamond in the Rough," Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) go undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw, of course -- at a ballroom dancing TV competition.

Their competitors are impressive to say the least -- two of them are played by "Sytycd" alumni Eliana Girard (season 9) and Dmitry Chaplin (season 3).

This does not intimidate Buck and Wanda when they go to sign up though.

As anyone who watches ballroom-dancing competitions knows, part of the deal involves getting dressed up. This applies to men as well as women.
