19 Music Video Cameos You Totally Need to See Again

Payne is hardly the first singer to feature another celeb in his music video. Some are particularly iconic – think Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith’s “Crazy,” or Lena Dunham, Cindy Crawford and more in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” – but there are a bunch we bet you forgot about:

Mindhunter: spoiler-free season 1 review

Nick Harley Oct 17, 2017

Netflix's Mindhunter is a fresh look at the dark depths of the human mind. Here's our spoiler-free season 1 review...

What you think about Mindhunter, Netflix’s new ten-episode drama series shepherded by David Fincher, likely depends on your reaction to the musical cue at the end of the series’ second episode. After spending an hour indulging the proclivities of a serial killer who defiled severed heads, the credits roll to the tune of the Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer. Either you find the on-the-nose soundtrack choice to be a darkly funny way to cut the macabre tension, or you find the whole thing to be over-the-top and a little sick.

Solar Eclipse on TV: Marge Simpson and Don Draper Show What Not To Do This Monday
Don’t be like Marge Simpson and Don Draper this Monday.

That’s perhaps the unexpected takeaway from memorable eclipse storylines on both “The Simpsons” and “Mad Men.” Marge and Don both look directly at the sun, with mixed results. And they’re not the only ones with bad eclipse habits.

As the continental United States embraces Eclipse Fever, here are a handful of recent TV series and movies that have incorporated the solar event into storylines and plots. The website Eclipse Guy has put together a thorough database of movies, TV series, music videos and commercials that have included eclipse scenes; IndieWire has curated a list of six recent ones on the small screen.

Emmy Contenders 2017: Lead Actress in a Comedy

Emmy Contenders 2017: Lead Actress in a Comedy
Julia Louis-Dreyfus set a record last year when she won her fifth consecutive Emmy for playing the titular “Veep,” and is a lock for a sixth nomination (if not a win) this year. Only three other former nominees are eligible this year: Tracee Ellis Ross, coming off a Golden Globe win for “Black-ish”; Ellie Kemper, always upbeat on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”; and Lily Tomlin, a beloved performer, for “Grace and Frankie.” Tomlin’s co-star, two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda, shouldn’t be counted out of the running, particularly following a third season that may heralded as the show’s best yet. Also returning to some of the best reviews of her career was Lena Dunham for the final season of “Girls.” Throwing an interesting twist into the mix is Allison Janney’s choice to move from supporting to lead for “Mom,” a role that has already won her two trophies. New Girl: Season Seven Almost Didn't Happen

On Sunday, Fox renewed its New Girl TV show for a shortened seventh and final season of eight episodes, but the sitcom was almost cancelled, instead. Aside from ratings dropping during the show's largely successful run on Fox, it seems some of the trouble also involved cast availability. Reportedly, as cancellation loomed, creator and executive producer Liz Meriwether made an 11th hour pitch for a final installment which includes a time jump. The seventh season of the New Girl TV series on Fox will reportedly pick up three years after the season six finale, which saw Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) reunite, Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) expecting a baby, and Winston (Lamorne Morris) reaching out to his father. The network ultimately commissioned an eight-episode farewell season that, per Deadline, will span an entire year and feature “major milestones for all main characters…
