12 Strong Trailer #2 Puts Chris Hemsworth on the Front Lines of War
With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the second trailer for 12 Strong, based on the declassified true story of the Horse Soldiers, the first group of soldiers sent into Afghanistan after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. While there is not necessarily a direct correlation between these soldiers at the Thanksgiving holiday, the trailer opens with a brief segment that features bits of footage with the messages, "Thankful for home," "Thankful for freedom" and "Thankful for family" before the trailer begins.

On our darkest day, they were our greatest hope. 12 Strong is set in the harrowing days following 9/11 when a U.S. Special Forces team, led by their new Captain, Mitch Nelson (Hemsworth), is chosen to be the first U.S. troops sent into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. Their mission takes them to the harsh mountainous landscape of Afghanistan, as they try to convince Northern

Denis Villeneuve on why Blade Runner 2049 tanked at the box office

Blade Runner 2049 was by far this fall’s biggest box-office upset. A film that was almost unanimously praised by critics, but was a complete failure financially. The entire situation has made many people question if there is even a place for cerebral cinema in today’s market; a world saturated with sequels, comic-book adaptations, and big explodey summer blockbusters. So, more than a month later, the question still stands: why?

Well, chatting with Yahoo Entertainment, Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve seems like he is still trying to figure that out:

“I’m still digesting it. … I think because maybe people were not familiar enough with the universe. And the fact that the movie’s long [2 hours, 44 minutes run time]. I don’t know. It’s still a mystery to me. I make movies — I don’t sell them.”

Admittedly, there were some who didn’t enjoy the film, keywords being boring, or over-long.

Morbius: what might his Spider-Man spin-off be like?

Rob Leane Nov 22, 2017

Morbius is the latest Spider-Man villain to line up a solo spin-off movie. Here are the basics about the character...

Long-time followers of the comic book movie news cycle will know that Spider-Man spin-off announcements are a fairly common occurrence. While The Amazing Spider-Man franchise was still going, fans were told to expect films focused on everything from the Sinister Six to Peter Parker’s Aunt May. Talk of a Venom-centric movie bubbled away for years, as well.

However, until Sony made a deal with Marvel Studios to share the Spider-Man licence, resulting in the iconic web-slinger’s indoctrination into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony’s spin-off ideas seemed to be just that: ideas, which never actually happened.

But now that Marvel is helping Sony with the Spidey character (Tom Holland’s web-head will next be seen in

Zack Snyder Movies Ranked from Worst to Best
Zack Snyder is possibly the most polarizing mainstream filmmaker of the 21st century. His name alone is enough to launch a thousand angry tweets, and the most passionate writing about his work is exclusively found in the comment sections of websites like this one. Snyder’s critics really seem to hate him, and Snyder’s fans really seem to hate his critics. At this point, a Marvel / DC movie crossover might be a lot more plausible than finding any sort of common ground between those two camps. Is Snyder a master or a hack? A misunderstood myth-maker, or a meathead with a movie camera?

One thing we can say for sure is that no contemporary auteur has more awesomely investigated what it means to be a hero in a fallen world. The Pasadena native has leveraged a remarkable music video portfolio into a big screen career filled by obsessions with power and its corruption.

Happy 50th to Underappreciated Steve Zahn

"Bad Ape" is still one of the best movie characters of 2017. He comes courtesy of the ambitious War for the Planet of the Apes, various visual effects technicians, and Steve Zahn who brilliantly embodies him. On the actor's 50th birthday a quick list of our 5 favorite Zahn performances over the years. He's one of Hollywood's most reliable (and most adorable) character actors and still has never really gotten his due.

Review: Geostorm (2017)

Despite sounding like a weekday afternoon SyFy film, Geostorm comes tearing into cinemas and while hopes were not particularly high, I was at least anticipating a fun slice of natural disaster movie mayhem. Shockingly not directed by master of disaster Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012), this film instead comes from Independence Day and Godzilla (1998) co-writer Dean Devlin. Unfortunately the end result is less knowing than any of the aforementioned and is a disaster in all the wrong ways.

Look, nobody was expecting Birdman here, or a deeply layered look at the impact of global warming, we were expecting a Gerard Butler led romp that was preposterous but hopefully fun with it. However, what I never expected in a million years was to be criticising Geostorm for not having enough extreme weather action scenes! Practically all of the films money shots have filled out the trailers and TV spots,

Video: Den of Thieves – Trailer

The first trailer for crime thriller Den of Thieves has hit the web starring Gerard Butler in full beardy mode again. Check it out above.

Butler plays the head of a feared police unit tasked with taking down a group of bank robbers, led by Pablo Schreiber, as they plan to steal $120 million from the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown L.A. There’s clearly a hint of Michael Mann’s Heat (1995) about it, but it still looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Den of Thieves hits cinemas February 2nd 2018.

Gerard Butler Says He Doesn’t Regret Starring in ‘Gods of Egypt’

When Gods of Egypt was released in 2016, it caused wide-scale controversy. This was mainly due to the predominant use of white actors in the role of the Gods. People argued that the Egyptian Gods should not have been white and that the film was blatantly racist. A year later, and the arguments have started once again. The fantasy action-adventure film was directed by Alex Proyas and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharples. There was an ensemble cast that included Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Elodie Yung, Chadwick Boseman, Courtney Eaton, Geoffrey Rush, and Gerard Butler. Recently, Gerard Butler was

The ‘Den of Thieves’ Trailer Is Like ‘Heat’ With Gerard Butler
Gerard Butler, who can currently be seen fighting the weather in Geostorm, has yet another film on the horizon. In Den of Thieves, Butler is an unorthodox cop chasing after a team of robbers. ‘Geostorm’ May End Up Losing $100 Million At The Box-Office

Frequent visitors to this site may have picked up on our coverage of new sci-fi disaster movie Geostorm towards the end of last week. You will have seen from our review that we rather liked it, even though we didn;t expect to. Well, the film hasn’t been doing too well at the box-office since it hit cinemas around the world on Friday, so much so that it may end up losing $100 million for the backers.

Geostorm opened to a dismal $13 million at the box-office Stateside at the weekend and so far has only managed to bring in $66 million around the world (at the time of writing). Given the movie’s $120 million budget, and with $15 million on top of that for reported reshoots, as well as all of the promotional costs, the film may end up costing Warner Brothers and its financial partners (Skydance and RatPac) somewhere in the

Den of Thieves Trailer Has Gerard Butler Chasing Down 50 Cent
Stx Entertainment has released the first trailer and poster for Den of Thieves, a new crime thriller starring Gerard Butler as a legendary Los Angeles cop trying to take down a brazen crew of bank robbers. Along with this new trailer, Stx has also debuted quite the unique poster, with this team of cops lead by Gerard Butler's Nick Flanagan on one side, and the bank robbers lead by 50 Cent's character on the bottom, which can be reversed so the robbers side is on top and the cops are on the bottom. We'll have to wait until January to find out who truly comes out on top in this epic thriller.

A Los Angeles crime saga in the vein of Heat, Den of Thieves follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the La County Sheriff's Dept. and the state's most successful bank robbery
