The actress will guest-star on ABC’s upcoming Zach Braff-fronted comedy Alex, Inc., TVGuide.com reports.

The midseason show centers around family man and journalist Alex (Braff), who leaves his radio job to start a podcasting company. Bush — who exited P.D. after four seasons last May — will play Vanessa Stanhope, a well-known radio host who spars with Braff’s character. (An airdate for Bush’s episode hasn’t been set yet.)

Co-stars and colleagues of John Mahoney paid tribute to the “Frasier” star, who died on Sunday at age 77.

John Cusack, who appeared alongside Mahoney in the 1989 film “Say Anything” called Mahoney a “great actor” and “lovely, kind human.” “Any time you saw him you left feeling better,” Cusack wrote on Twitter.

‘For the People’ Cast on Tackling Cases From ‘Terrorism to Wine Fraud’
The latest new series under the Shondaland banner, “For The People,” is a legal drama set in New York City, and while its cases won’t be ripped from the headlines “Law & Order”-style, the show is designed to depict a large scope of issues affecting the nation today.

“It’s the highest profile trial court in America, and [sometimes] these cases tend to be high profile,” series star Vondie Curtis-Hall says about the real-life United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, which is fictionalized in the show. “Bernie Madoff was tried there, Tom Brady’s ‘Deflategate’ was tried there, the Rosenbergs, the Pentagon Papers, Thurgood Marshall served there before going to the Supreme Court. That’s the weight of these cases and the weight of the court. I think we do honor that in many ways.”

The series, created by Paul William Davies, follows a fictional group of public defenders, prosecuting attorneys

Top Podcast Network Gimlet Media Launches Film And TV Division

Brooklyn-based podcast network Gimlet Media, which creates popular audio narratives like Reply All and Crimetown, is officially moving into the film and TV world.

The company has launched a new division, Gimlet Pictures, as three of the its podcasts are currently being developed into series and features. These include an Amazon show based on the psychological thriller Homecoming, starring Julia Roberts; ABC’s Alex, Inc. -- starring Zach Braff and based on Gimlet founder Alex Blumberg’s own entrepreneurial journey, as well as an episode of StartUp; and the Robert Downey Jr.-starring feature Man Of The People from Annapurna Pictures, which takes its inspiration from an episode of Reply All. That film will be directed by Richard Linklater.

Zach Braff and Alan Cumming to be Honored at 2018 Scad aTVfest

The Savannah College of Art and Design (Scad) has announced the lineup and honorees for the sixth annual Scad aTVfest.

Actors Zach Braff and Alan Cumming have been selected as honorees at this year’s festival. Braff, best known for his role on “Scrubs” for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination and several Golden Globe nominations, will receive the Spotlight Award. Cumming, whose work on “The Good Wife” has won him multiple awards, will be honored with the Icon Award.

The aTVfest focuses on providing both industry professionals and Scad students with a space to discuss industry trends as well as network through pannels, screenings, and workshops. Notoriously bad actor-director Tommy Wiseau, who rose to fame in cult ‘so bad, it’s good’ movie The Room, has said he would like to make a Star Wars film.

The mysterious filmmaker told his Twitter followers he would “absolutely” like to direct a Star Wars movie, but added he would “prefer to act” in one if given the opportunity.
