Grimm season 4 episode 6 review: Highway Of Tears

  • Den of Geek
Grimm's fourth season finally gets motoring with a great, entertaining episode that actually advances the plot. Here's Christine's review...

This review contains spoilers.

4.6 Highway Of Tears

To paraphrase Nick Burkhardt this week, “It’s back!”

Grimm treated us this week to plot development, some delicious dialogue, and the best laugh-out-loud line of the series so far. This was all a relief, particularly as we were all expecting the most awkward sex scene in TV history.

To recap, we discovered last week that Juliette must sleep with Nick in the guise of arch nemesis Adalind in order for Nick to regain his powers.

In fact, Juliette treats the whole situation with surprising good humour, and even a little sass. I mean, Nick has to find Adalind’s physical presence sexy enough to enable him to perform, but without enjoying it too much, presumably. That’s one a tightrope that our hero’s walking.

“Major Crimes” 3.05 “Who Are The Village People?”

Rusty Beck (wonderfully played by Graham Patrick Martin) has been an integral part of TNT’s Major Crimes since, well, before the show even aired. He made his debut on the series finale of The Closer, and was brought back for the spinoff, and we’ve spent the last two and a half seasons watching his journey.

Last night’s episode was a pivotal one for Rusty, as he gathered the courage to come out to his fiends in the squad room, and thanks to out showrunner James Duff, it was handled without histrionics, and with humor and sensitivity.

The episode centered around a therapy session Rusty has with Dr. Bowman (played by the out Bill Brochtrup), and Rusty’s coming out is told through a case the Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

An Indian man has been killed in a swanky Hollywood hotel, and the unit discovers he had

The Mummy Reboot Lands Director Len Wiseman

The Mummy Reboot Lands Director Len Wiseman
Total Recall director Len Wiseman is finalizing a deal to direct The Mummy reboot for Universal Pictures. We first reported on this project back in April, when Prometheus writer Jon Spaihts signed on to provide the screenplay.

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are producing through their K/O Paper Products, along with Sean Daniel and James Jacks. Here's what Len Wiseman had to say about the project, revealing there is a much scarier take on the classic monster.

"When I first heard Universal was relaunching this, that is the image that popped into my head, the period tale, the old monster, but when Bob and Alex pitched it, there was a great new take and approach, and a very different mummy as well. It's a darker twist on the material, a scarier version."

Len Wiseman previously worked with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman when he directed the pilot episode of their CBS series Hawaii Five-0.

Meanwhile, nerds everywhere are asking themselves “so who else are they gonna cast in the movie?” Since it’s gonna be awhile before there’s an official answer, we’d like to offer up our wish list of who we’d want to see on screen.

Right off the bat we should point out that this article is particularly speculative because there’s been no word yet on which game the movie will draw from for its plot.

Here's what Jon Spaihts had to say about bringing The Mummy back to its original horror roots.

"I see it as the sort of opportunity I had with Prometheus, to go back to a franchise's roots in dark, scary source material, and simultaneously open it up to an epic scale we haven't seen before."

Vivica A. Fox, Joelle Carter, and Ross McCall To Star In ‘It’s Not You, It’s Me’

  • The Film Stage
There are many, many lines you never want to hear when someone ends a relationship — “it’s not you, it’s me” is probably in the top 3. But, as we’ve seen in the past with movies revolving around doomed relationships, they tend to make a lot of money. Variety has just reported that Vivica A. Fox, Joelle Carter, and Ross McCall have been hired to lead the indie relationship comedy, titled — well, you know — It’s Not You, It’s Me.

Screenwriter Nathan Ives is making his directorial debut, helming a comedy that tells the story of “a thirty-something commitment-phobe who breaks up with the love of his life thanks to conflicting advice from his outrageous, inner voices — and says the only thing he can think of to soften the blow: ‘It’s not you, it’s me.’” Carter (Justified) will be playing the role of the ex-girlfriend, whose
