'Stevie D': Film Review

'Stevie D': Film Review

Writer-director-star Chris Cordone’s highly uneven debut feature declares its budget constraints at every turn, along with its countless sources of inspiration, from Get Shorty to Pulp Fiction. As borrowed as it is, though, the high concept outshines the execution; it’s easy to see how a significantly slimmed-down and sharpened version of the overlong feature might have been a small-time contender.

Cordone’s smartest move is the casting of seasoned character actors, including Hal Linden, John Aprea and Kevin Chapman (of the series Person of Interest). Chapman...

'Godfather' Traitor Dead at 94 – More Than Three Decades After His (Exaggerated) Obit Came Out

'The Godfather' actor Abe Vigoda. 'The Godfather' actor Abe Vigoda dead at 94; reports of his death in the early 1980s were greatly exaggerated Actor Abe Vigoda, little-known internationally – despite a supporting role in The Godfather – but popular in the U.S. as a result of the 1970s television series Barney Miller and of an erroneous 1982 People magazine obit, died in his sleep at his daughter's home in Woodland Park, New Jersey, on Tuesday, Jan. 26, '15. The cause of death seems to have been old age. Vigoda (born on Feb. 24, 1921, in New York City) was 94. The Idolmaker Gets Ryan Gosling to Star and Direct

The Idolmaker Gets Ryan Gosling to Star and Direct
Actor Ryan Gosling has been set to star in and make his directorial debut with a remake of The Idolmaker for MGM.

The original movie The Idolmaker was released in 1980 and was directed by Taylor Hackford. The Idolmaker is a biopic on music promoter and producer Bob Micucci, who discovered such talented acts as Frankie Avalon and Fabian.

We reported back in February that The Idolmaker is one of several remakes being developed at MGM, although it seems this might be the first one out of the gate. Our earlier report indicated The Idolmaker will be updated to follow the current music trends, although it isn't known if Bob Micucci will serve as the basis of this remake.

It is unclear when production will start on The Idolmaker, or who will be writing the screenplay.

The Idolmaker is in development and stars Ryan Gosling. The film is directed by Ryan Gosling.

  • TVStar
Never say that Lie to Me (TV) doesn't deliver on the titillation scenes. This episode opens with pert, young and lovely Clara Musso (Melissa George) making passionate love to her husband, Victor (John Aprea), who also happens to be 30 years her senior. She interrupts their afterglow moment, saying she'll be back in half an hour. But the next time we see dear old Victor, he's being carted off in a body bag. Some months later, Clara is being lead into the courthouse, accused of her husband's murder, by a gaggle of press hounds and her lawyer, Zoe Landau (Jennifer Beals): Cal Lightman's (Tim Roth) ex-wife. One person yells out, "How was the sex?" to the widow, specifically to elicit a response. But Zoe knows who would send someone to ask such a question, and goes in search of her ex. Lightman has been contracted by the prosecution to read
