Ben Affleck and Matt Damon both auditioned for Robin in Tim Burton’s Batman

Last year, Ben Affleck donned the cape and cowl as the DC Extended Universe’s incarnation of The Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, reprising the role for Suicide Squad and this weekend’s big release Justice League.

However, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel, Affleck has revealed that he could have made his DC debut almost thirty years prior, with both he and his pal Matt Damon having auditioned for the role of Robin the Boy Wonder in 1989’s Batman from director Tim Burton. Here’s Affleck talking about their auditions…

The character of Robin was ultimately deleted from the script, with Marlon Wayans signing on for the role in Batman Returns, only for the part to be cut once again. Chris O’Donnell eventually portrayed Dick Grayson alongside Val Kilmer in Batman Forever, and returned opposite George Clooney in Batman & Robin.

Netflix Plans to Release 80 Original Films in 2018

Netflix expects to release around 80 original films next year, as it looks to hit the kind of scale in movies that it’s achieved on the TV side, according to chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

“They range anywhere from the million-dollar Sundance hit, all the way up to something on a much larger scale,” like Will Smith-starrer “Bright,” Sarandos said in an investors’ interview Monday about Netflix’s third-quarter 2017 results.

Bright,” a cop action-thriller movie directed by David Ayer, had a reported production price tag of $90 million. It’s set to debut on Netflix worldwide on Dec. 22. Sarandos also cited as a forthcoming big-budget picture Martin Scorsese’s gangster movie “The Irishman,” starring Robert DeNiro, slated to be released on Netflix in early 2019. “The Irishman” has a budget of more $100 million.

Sarandos said with the release of “Bright” — a “big-budget, event movie” — “I think people will start seeing the potential for this original movie initiative, that it

Friedman founded the New York and Los Angeles Improv Comedy Clubs and has seen a lot of things in his 85 years. In addition to ratting out Robin Williams, Friedman devotes an entire chapter to the iconic and polarizing comedian, Andy Kaufman, and dishes on managing Bette Midler as well as witnessing Johnny Carson getting wasted and making out with an 18-year old girl in the backseat of a car.

Many comedians have been accused of joke stealing, but as it turns out, Robin Williams was reportedly notorious for it back when he was for starting out. The Hollywood Reporter spoke to Budd Friedman about his book and the author revealed that Richard Lewis and Robert Wuhl both accuse Williams

What Robin Almost Looked Like in Tim Burton's Batman Returns

What Robin Almost Looked Like in Tim Burton's Batman Returns
Tim Burton almost got to play with Robin. But he changed his mind and ditched that concept for his 1992 sequel Batman Returns. The movie was already stuffed with perhaps one too many characters, with the follow-up to 1989's blockbuster hit Batman introducing Penguin and Catwoman. While we wouldn't see Robin until 1995's Batman Forever, we now have an idea of what Tim Burton's Robin would have looked like.

Robin is an elusive character. When 1989's Batman was being produced, comic book fans warned that the character was too goofy for such a serious take on the material. And he was left on the sidelines. But Tim Burton toyed with introducing the character in his next movie. And thanks to Bart Sears Twitter, we have an idea what that may have looked like.

The movie brought Michael Keaton back as the caped crusader, and cast high profile actors Michelle Pfeiffer
