Jake Busey explains where he fits in Shane Black's new The Predator reboot

  • JoBlo
Shane Black's The Predator is on the way, and the plot has been kept mostly under wraps. All we know for sure is it opens with some soldiers in a truck, that it's set mostly in the suburbs, and that they cast Jake Busey to play the son of Gary Busey's character from Predator 2. Now, that is actually more weird than it initially appears. Not that Black cast Jake to play... Read More...

The Predator Reboot Explains Why Hunters Have Come to Earth

The Predator Reboot Explains Why Hunters Have Come to Earth
20th Century Fox's The Predator is shaping up to be one of next year's most anticipated movies, especially after it was confirmed this past summer that The Predator connects to Predator 2, and today we have new plot details. While Shane Black had said from the beginning that this project wasn't a reboot, Jake Busey revealed in June that he is playing the son of Peter Keyes from Predator 2, who was played by the actor's real-life father, Gary Busey. In a new interview, Jake Busey reveals that this movie does fall in line with the previous movies, but it will also reveal that these Predators have a bigger motive than hunting, as to why they come to Earth in the first place.

"This one definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have. It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is,

Shane Black’s Predator Will Explore Why The Predators Have Come To Earth

Shane Black’s The Predator focuses on a group of unsuspecting humans after the titular creatures invade their suburban neighborhood. But just why have these monsters come down to Earth, and what exactly do they want?

That’s a question for which we don’t have the answer to, but we will quite soon, as the film will certainly address it. Speaking to Pop Culture, Jake Busey, who stars in the pic as the son of the character his father played in Predator 2, revealed that the sequel will explain more about the Predator species and why they frequently revisit our planet.

“This one definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have,” Busey himself told the site. “It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is, and what their modus operandi, and why they come to the planet,

Edward James Olmos says Shane Black’s The Predator “is gonna be funny”

While doing the press rounds for Pixar’s Coco, Edward James Olmos has backed up Thomas Jane’s comments from a couple of weeks ago by stating that Shane Black’s The Predator ‘is gonna be funny’.

The Blade Runner and Battlestar Gallactica veteran was talking to Cinema Blend when he spilled the following details:

“That’s an interesting story. I haven’t seen any of it, but it’s gonna be funny. The kids in the thing. Yeah, the humor. Huge. Huge. I mean I was in shock, because, you know this is a really intense franchise, and it still is. Don’t get me wrong. You’re gonna be inside of it. But the characters are… what he did — Shane is an incredibly gifted writer, and he’s a great director, and so he ended up getting an incredible ensemble, and when I reached it they had already

Review: "The Law And Jake Wade" (1958) Starring Robert Taylor And Richard Widmark. Warner Archive Collection Blu-ray Release

  • CinemaRetro
By John M. Whalen

In MGM’s 1958 Western “The Law and Jake Wade,” Robert Taylor rides down from the Sierra Nevada mountains early one morning into a small town and busts his old partner-in-crime, Clint Hollister (Richard Widmark), out of the hoosegow. Hollister is a nasty guy. Not satisfied with escaping a hanging, to Jake’s dismay, he clubs the sheriff and shoots a couple of people out in the street while he and Jake make their getaway. Jake has to take his rifle away from him to keep from killing more people.

Back up in the mountains Clint wants to ride on with Jake but Jake says no. He busted Clint out of jail because he figured he owed him for doing the same thing for him once. Now they’re even. Clint doesn’t agree. There’s that matter of the $20,000 they stole on their last job together.

Thomas Jane discusses the plot of The Predator

The story of Shane Black’s upcoming The Predator has been pretty short on details up to this point. All we really know about the film is that it takes place in a suburban area as a group of soldiers try to take down the new Predator. Now, however, star Thomas Jane (The Expanse) appeared on the Shadow Nation podcast and revealed a lot of details on his and the other soldier’s backstories.

“We play these veterans from like Afghanistan, Iraq war or whatever,” Jane said. “But we’re all fucking crazy so we go to the Va hospital to get our meds. We’re all like shellshocked, Ptsd… soldiers. We’re at the Va hospital and we’re in group therapy and of course, somebody flips out…this is backstory, I don’t think we really see this…somebody flips out and we all get arrested and get

Dead Ant Brings the Drive-In Movie Back in Time for Halloween

Dead Ant Brings the Drive-In Movie Back in Time for Halloween
Dead Ant isn't just some fly-by-night cult oddity that is looking to cash in on the Halloween season. It's a bonafide Drive-In thriller that mixes comedy with rock and roll, adding in some killer insects and quite a bit of madness. It's the type of movie we don't see too much of any more. And that's one of the reasons star Tom Arnold wanted to take it on in the first place.

Tom Arnold stars in the movie with Stranger Things and Goonies favorite Sean Astin and former Hollywood bad boy Jake Busey. Also appearing in this madcap ode to sci-fi schlock from the 50s is Michael Horse, who plays the beloved Hawk on Twin Peaks. In the movie, which is being called 'too much fun' by critics, members of a metal band get a chance at a comeback when they are invited to perform at Coachella. When they become stranded in the desert,

Freddy Krueger Launched Dead Ant Star Tom Arnold's Movie Career

Freddy Krueger Launched Dead Ant Star Tom Arnold's Movie Career
The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise has helped launch many a film career in Hollywood, including Johnny Depp, Patricia Arquette, and Kelly Rowland, just to name a few. But none more notorious perhaps than the career of Tom Arnold. Halloween is almost here which means when we had the chance to speak with Tom Arnold about the new horror comedy Dead Ant, we couldn't resist the chance to get in a question about his relationship with MovieWeb's favorite horror movie killer Freddy Krueger.

The 58 year old actor and comedian, who earned an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance thanks to his supporting role in Arnold Schwarzenegger's True Lies, made his film debut in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, the supposed finale of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, which arrived in September 1991.

It was the height of tabloid fame for Arnold and his then wife, Roseanne Barr,

Lightning Strikes in First Animated Artwork for Shane Black’s The Predator

  • DailyDead
In the summer of 2018, one of the galaxy's most feared hunters will return to the big screen with the release of Shane Black's The Predator. Although details on the film have been relatively quiet as of late, 20th Century Fox broke the silence today by officially releasing the first animated artwork for the new movie in a stormy motion poster.

Released on the Predator Official Fan App (after making an appearance at the London licensing expo), the new animated artwork can be viewed below. While an official synopsis has yet to be released, the lightning formation of a Predator's head above a city seems to indicate a well-populated setting for the new installment of the Predator franchise.

Slated for an August 3rd, 2018 release from 20th Century Fox, The Predator was directed by Black, who co-starred as the wisecracking Rick Hawkins in 1987's Predator. Black worked from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker,

Why Sean Astin’s ‘Stranger Things 2’ Role Is More Than Stunt Casting (Exclusive)

Why Sean Astin’s ‘Stranger Things 2’ Role Is More Than Stunt Casting (Exclusive)
Longtime actor and former child star Sean Astin is not a fan of watching horror movies.

“That sensation of jumping because somebody's hand comes through the window to grab your throat -- I don't like that,” he tells Et, which is a bit ironic considering he’s starring in two back-to-back horror projects released in October.

First is Dead Ant, a campy film about killer ants, which Astin says is an homage to those ‘70s B-list horror movies like Empire of the Ants, that premiered at the 2017 ScreamFest in Hollywood, California. The film sees the actor playing an aging rocker with an insane mullet and bad tattoos, who doesn’t quite make it to the end. “I wish I had more time to play with the rest of the group,” Astin says of the cast, which includes Tom Arnold and Jake Busey, but he had fun playing up the Los Angeles music scene. “I felt strangely
