Bram Stoker’S Dracula – 25 Years of Horror and Tragedy

Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a modern horror masterpiece, and one that too often goes overlooked. A film that is horrifying, intriguing, and astoundingly beautiful, Francis Ford Coppola took Stoker’s masterwork and breathed new, undead life into it in 1992. It recently hit its 25th anniversary, and the film remains a classic piece of horror cinema.

The film opens in 1462, with Vlad Dracula (Gary Oldman) returning from war against the Turks to find that his beloved wife, Elisabeta (Winona Ryder) has killed herself upon receiving false news of his defeat and death. When the priest tells him that her soul cannot be saved and will be forever damned by her suicide, Vlad renounces God in a fit of rage. He desecrates his small chapel, stabbing a stone cross and drinking the blood that begins to ebb from it, embracing eternal life and damnation at the hands of a merciless god.

I'm Your Biggest Fan! - Reeves, Gerwig, and Chance

By Salim Garami

What's good? Apologies because I don't have much to say or talk about this week, except remark on how I'm still in a pretty pleasant mood moving out of Thanksgiving weekend and into the holiday season.

And part of what prolonged my pleasant mood was to find an admittedly 2-year-old video of movie star Keanu Reeves on promotional tour promoting John Wick in Japan discussing his admiration for martial arts film legend Sonny Chiba (of The Street Fighter or Kill Bill fame), influencing his physical choreography and style. Lo and behold, Chiba was in the studio ready to meet with Keanu and the Matrix star is suddenly starstruck to meet him and begins waxing rhapsodic over Chiba's work. Seeing such a household star in the industry be taken aback by the presence of figure that certainly isn't as well-known internationally as Reeves brought a smile to my face.

Review: 24 Hours to Live

  • JoBlo
Plot: An assassin seeks revenge after he is given a second chance at life. Review: John Wick has presented a unique opportunity for well known actors that have at least a little bit of willingness to perform their own stunts. We’ve had Keanu Reeves of course, and this past summer Charlize Theron was an Atomic Blonde. Why not try someone like Ethan Hawke? The actor is not a complete stranger to... Read More...

Aviron Pictures Acquires ‘Destination Wedding’ With Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder
David Dinerstein’s Aviron Pictures has acquired North American distribution rights to Victor Levin’s “Destination Wedding,” a romantic comedy reuniting Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. The deal also includes all English-speaking territories, including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Reeves and Ryder, who appeared together in “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” and “A Scanner Darkly,” star in “Destination Wedding” as two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests who develop a mutual affection in spite of themselves.

Production on “Destination Wedding” wrapped earlier this summer in central California. The film was one of the most buzzed-about projects pitched at this year’s American Film Market.

Best known as a writer and exec producer, Levin’s track record includes “Mad Men,” “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Mad About You,” the 1990s NBC sitcom with Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt.

Aviron Pictures was launched in the run-up to the Cannes Film Festival this year by Dinerstein, an industry

Home Entertainment: ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ 4K Uhd Blu-Ray Review

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets arrived in cinemas during the summer and sadly didn’t quite hold up to the hype that had been built. This happens a lot with tent-pole titles, especially those directed by an established director, and can kill a film before its even reached the screen. It happened with the Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending, and this year it sadly happened with Luc Besson’s Valerian.

It may have failed to set the box-office alight, but Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets has all the ingredients to be a success on home entertainment platforms. It’s a science-fiction action adventure – a genre that tends to convert well at home – it’s directed by Luc Besson and had mixed reviews, meaning that whilst many didn’t want to risk a wasted trip to the cinema, they are still curious to see just what the film is like.

19 Music Video Cameos You Totally Need to See Again
Liam Payne‘s most recent music video for his single, “Bedroom Floor,” is one to remember – and not just because of its catchy beat; the song’s video features Bella Thorne, who portrays a girl dealing with a flaky boyfriend.

Payne is hardly the first singer to feature another celeb in his music video. Some are particularly iconic – think Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith’s “Crazy,” or Lena Dunham, Cindy Crawford and more in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” – but there are a bunch we bet you forgot about:

The following is an excerpt from Rafael Motamayor’s interview with Ana Lily Amirpour, director of The Bad Batch at the Sitges Film Festival…

Ana Lily Amirpour is one of the most fascinating new directors working today. Just two years later she followed that up with The Bad Batch, a cannibal Western featuring Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey and Jason Momoa. She recently finished shooting an upcoming episode of Legion.

Flickering Myth spoke to Amirpour at the Sitges Film Festival and asked her what it was like working on Legion and if she would do another TV show, to which she replied, “I am directing an episode of Castle Rock, and that’s because I’m a huge Stephen King fan and J.J. Abrams is producing it,

First Look at Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder in Destination Wedding

First Look at Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder in Destination Wedding
Bloom has released the first-look image of Keanu Reeves and Academy Award Nominee Winona Ryder in Victor Levin's Destination Wedding. This romantic comedy was first announced at the end of August, marking the fourth collaboration for Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. They first appeared on screen together in the divisive 1992 movie Bram Stoker's Dracula, before reuniting in 2006 with the Philip K. Dick adaptation A Scanner Darkly and 2009's The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. As you can see in this photo, their characters Frank and Lindsay seem to be getting along well, chatting over some wine, but that wasn't always the case.

Destination Wedding tells the story of two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests, both pariahs at this affair, who develop a mutual affection despite themselves. But to act on those feelings would be to trust hope over experience, a foolish choice indeed. Over the course of the weekend and against all odds,
